Not first time legend, but first time legend with Priest.
After a period of trial and error I came to this version of Resurrect Priest. It seemed superior to any other Priest deck I had ever played, so I played it straight from rank 7 to legend with a 69% win rate.
Mulligan Guide
Always keep Injured Blademaster, Auchenai Soulpriest and Priest of the Feast.
If you have any of the above, also keep Resurrect.
If you have Auchenai, also keep Circle of Healing.
If you have Circle, also keep Embrace the Shadow.
Keep Excavated Evil against Shaman, Mage and Warlock.
Shadow Word: Pain:
Always keep it against Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Hunter and Warrior.
Against Druid and Priest keep it only if you already have a good hand.
Never keep it against Rogue and Paladin.

Glad you like it. I'm having fun with it too.
who in here, has really advanced thanks to this deck?
probably I play very badly or something not so in this deck
I have.
As for your second sentence, I don't understand anything.
I took this deck (and only this deck) from rank 16 past my record of 14 up to rank 10.
Would you consider to change Bog Creepers now that the meta is a bit more on the slower side? I've noticed that if you go
-2 Bog Creeper FOR +1 Cairne Bloodhoof, +1 N'Zoth, the Corruptor
-1 Embrace the Shadow and -1 Darkshire Alchemist FOR 2 Shifting Shades
You got a brand new strategy without watering down the entire deck and you got two new 'fast' minions that give you a card.
Thoughts?
How can you do -1 Holy Champion when the deck had none to begin with?
I'm playing with + Holy Champion atm, you can see it under "After-Nerf-Update". This isn't definitive though, I'm just posting there what currently works well for me.
Ahh, never noticed. Although I do see now you've tweaked it to -Darkshire +Forbidden.
So, I have never posted on this site in the entire time I have played this game. However I'm so irate that I need to vent and try to understand why I'm so bad with this deck. I'm 0-10 with it even vs match ups that it is favored for. I've watched videos of other people playing it and winning none stop but I cannot do anything with it. I'm well aware that the piloting of the deck on me and only so much can be chalked up to RNG. I'm posting from my phone so I don't have any replays but I'm at my wits end. I like control style decks (played concede shaman and won regularly with it) so I don't know what the deal is. Any advice or help would be appreciated and I'll try to play some when I get home and upload vids.
Take a break and try again with a level head.
Justicar seems really good here. I wish i had the right legendaries to run this. Any good substitutions?
Removing PotF is not viable, because PotF is super strong, especially against aggro. To avoid the bad synergy with Auchenai just do things in the right order (use spells before combining them on the board, kill off Auchenai if necessary, then use spells, etc.).
Auchenai and PotF deal combined 8 damage, so usually your opponent has to remove them anyway, but try not to combine them when you're at low health and playing against something like Aggro Shaman or Tempo Mage.
Don't Auchenai Soulpriest and Embrace the Shadow have anti-synergy with Priest of the Feast and Darkshire Alchemist? As in, doesn't Soulpriest/Embrace cause those cards to damage yourself instead of heal?
If so, can you expand on why you included these and general game play for these cards, other than simply not playing them together? Seems a big risk/inconvenience.
Darkshire Alchemist does 5 damage if combined with Auchenai or Embrace the Shadow, that's great synergy. You can check out the video I just posted to see how well these cards do in this deck: http://plays.tv/s/KzKIHOqZKlbj
I think this deck lacks of card draw which might be a problem.
A third Auchenai Soulpriest. :)
If you meet only Control decks, why not. Personally I do meet aggro decks from time to time so I don't want to be that greedy.
I made a new version with Ysera and Barnes. If you're still interested, I can highly recommend it: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/651500-barnes-resurrect-priest
