Not first time legend, but first time legend with Priest.
After a period of trial and error I came to this version of Resurrect Priest. It seemed superior to any other Priest deck I had ever played, so I played it straight from rank 7 to legend with a 69% win rate.
Mulligan Guide
Always keep Injured Blademaster, Auchenai Soulpriest and Priest of the Feast.
If you have any of the above, also keep Resurrect.
If you have Auchenai, also keep Circle of Healing.
If you have Circle, also keep Embrace the Shadow.
Keep Excavated Evil against Shaman, Mage and Warlock.
Shadow Word: Pain:
Always keep it against Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Hunter and Warrior.
Against Druid and Priest keep it only if you already have a good hand.
Never keep it against Rogue and Paladin.

How'd it work out for you?
I've about done the same, but use Mind Control and Shadow Madness. Mind Control gives a good End-game swing with your Atiesh giving you a 10 drop. Shadow Madness replaces the Sylvannus function a bit as well. When they work, it is good, but when they don't, you wish you had something like Rag/Sylv. For a short time I ran Prince Malchezaar just to have a shot at getting them or something as worthy, but too many random legends ruined my rez strategies.
21-8 versus shaman
sure Kappa
That's not unreasonable. So far I'm 6-2 against shaman with this deck.
I can't believe how much a turn three hex wrecks this deck.
still fun though.
Several people have suggested swapping out an Auchenai Soulpriest for a 2nd Embrace the Shadows. There's no right or wrong answer here, just a different set of pros and cons.
Auchenai Pros: Resurrect synergy, Power Word: Shield synergy, forces an opponent to spend mana or attack to get rid of it, can last 2+ turns.
Auchenai Cons: More expensive, ongoing anti-synergy with Priest of the Feast, can get stuck with an Auchenai on the board when you desperately need to heal yourself.
If you think the Pros outweigh the Cons, take the 2nd Auchenai. If not, take the 2nd Embrace.
BTW, I had a fun battle with this deck against a Yogg - Arcane Giant mage. The mage just would NOT die! And yes, I use the second Auchenai.

Thank you for is deck strategy. As F2P I replaced Embrace the Shadow with Shadow Madness I already had and Rag/Slyv with Medivh/Mind Control. I like something other than Darkshire Alchemist because I dont think it pulls weight, but I dont know what to replace it with.
I like the deck, it's consistent in the limited games I've played with it. For people that seem to think this is a "worse version" of other resurrect decks.
Maybe I've just gotten lucky but I'm liking the deck as-is so far.
Thanks bro! Keep playing this deck. You helped me get legend yesterday by running into you in ladder and beat you 2 times.
Kibler's Priest has nothing in common with mine, apart from being a Resurrect Priest. Just use your eyes. And no, my deck is not a budget deck. I didn't try to find a cheap version of Resurrect Priest, but rather the best version.
I like the idea of the deck, but can't seem to win with it. Anything aggro seems to destroy me and always end up with a bad starting hand.
I like it, but i replaced Bog Creeper with Sunwalker (I think its harder to remove). And i took Barnes instead of Darkshire Alchemist (The heal from Flash Heal is enough for me.). I like the synergy between Barnes and Sunwalker (because of the Divine Shield) or Sylvanas Windrunner.
I was looking for a replacement for the Alchemist. It felt meh to me, thanks!
How do you draw cards?
There's just PW: Shield. This deck has good topdecks (Bog Creepers etc.) instead of card draw.
after play testing... wow, love the deck. switched out one auchanai for a 2nd embrace the shadow and one excavated evil for Yogg.
Just played a control cthun warrior. After keep board state clear for 10 turns... he plays velkor. I play yogg... it removes his board, gives me call of the wild and fills my hand with 4 cards. Turned the game around completely.
I love the deck. really has a ton of options. Thanks for the blueprint.
Glad you're having fun with Yogg priest, even though it's not quite the same. ;)
I think of Yogg as a "last resort". I play your deck for all but 2 cards. Yogg only comes in when everything else has been trashed (as in the case of that cthun warrior who removed 2 bog creepers, sylvanas, and two injured blademasters before yogg was played).
I did try Yogg and Arcane Giants, I also had a 2nd Embrace instead of a 2nd Auchenai at some point.
- When I used Yogg, my win rate dropped, but I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe it's because you don't need to yolo all that much with this deck. You can just play the long game and win.
- Bog Creepers are very strong in this deck. As soon as I added the 2nd one things got so much easier for me. Against aggressive decks Bog Creepers are like inverse board clears. 8 health is not easy to remove, especially not against a Priest who can heal his minions. And once your opponent manages to kill your Bog Creeper, usually by spending valuable resources, there's a chance you can resurrect him... The taunt is indeed crucial. You don't need 8/8-Giants when you can win the long game just by surviving. For survival you need taunts.
- It's important to have a good Resurrect as soon as possible. Auchenai is a good Resurrect. Sometimes you can screw your opponent just by resurrecting Auchenai over and over again, combined with Circle, Flash Heal or Darkshire Alchemist, whatever fits the situation.
