Not first time legend, but first time legend with Priest.
After a period of trial and error I came to this version of Resurrect Priest. It seemed superior to any other Priest deck I had ever played, so I played it straight from rank 7 to legend with a 69% win rate.
Mulligan Guide
Always keep Injured Blademaster, Auchenai Soulpriest and Priest of the Feast.
If you have any of the above, also keep Resurrect.
If you have Auchenai, also keep Circle of Healing.
If you have Circle, also keep Embrace the Shadow.
Keep Excavated Evil against Shaman, Mage and Warlock.
Shadow Word: Pain:
Always keep it against Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Hunter and Warrior.
Against Druid and Priest keep it only if you already have a good hand.
Never keep it against Rogue and Paladin.

Just hit rank 10 for the first time ever -- this deck allowed me to break my record from rank 14 (last month). Much appreciated! Here's an updated list of my 157 standard ranked games between ranks 17 and 11. Games in which an opponent conceded on turn one are not included.
Classes
Rogue, and to a lesser extent Warlock and Paladin are such low sample sizes that the win rate could change significantly with just a few more games.
Stats
Barnes - Ysera is a nice combo, but having only 1x Priest of the Feast makes the matchup against all faster decks considerably worse.
piloting this in wild and have taken it to rank 6.
really tough with all the nzoth's and secret pallys running around..but still effective.
I only played a few games but didn't lose a single one, even when all of my resurrect cards were in my bottom ten. I don't have Ragnaros or Sylvanas so I substituted them for two Arcane Giant and they worked wonders. Good work!
+ Harrison Jones, - Darkshire Alchemist
This deck has all the answers you need for Midrange Shaman, it only lacks the tools to actually draw them, so drawing several cards while destroying Spirit Claws wins the game.
In my stats the win rate is good against Shamans in general. This also includes Aggro Shamans. I think it's the Aggro Shamans that make the win rate so good, the matchup against Midrange Shaman is pretty even. If they get a Mana Tide from Tuskarr, you likely get wrecked as a Priest. For some tips be referred to the Matchup Guide about Midrange Shaman (click on spoiler).
While Alchemist is always good but hardly ever a game winner, Harrison ranges from kinda bad to game winner, depending on the matchup, so his usefulness depends a lot on how many and which weapons are used in the meta. I'm playing with Harrison atm, because I'm running a lot into weapon classes. I added him when Control Warriors with Gorehowl became more popular.
It's a good feeling winning against Handlock with Embrace - Alchemist - 2x Flash Heal. :)
Really looking forward to that nerf.
Suggestions for a replacement of Ragnaros the Firelord?
Ragnaros has a unique ability so he has no exact replacement. Other possibilities are Soggoth, Ysera, Velen, and Yogg-Saron. Each has a different set of pros and cons.

6-2 very well, reading the comments i changed a bog creeper for velen and works great
Made a account just to say thanks for the great deck....after being stuck around rank 9 easily climbing in this meta.
Glad to hear. Keep on climbing.
really nice deck, ty!
can i find you on twitch or somewhere else? wanna see u playing dat deck, cuz i have some troubles via shamans
I'm not a streamer, sry. I could record some videos next season, but for now be referred to the matchup guide about shamans. Teching in Harrison Jones helps as well.
That sounds really interesting. How do you play Velen? I imagine you hope to resurrect him. I'm afraid to take Bog out because I have bad draws and he's saved me so many times from aggro.
No early game what so ever
It's Resurrect Priest, so what do you expect? Resurrecting small minions is kinda pointless.
Added Barnes into the deck, it's working like a charm
What did you drop?
