MeetMrHahn's Secret Mage

Looking for something new/different?  Try this! I have had a ton of feedback from other players and have tweeked this deck to what I think is a fierce competitor in the current meta.

I used to love Secret Mage in Standard when there was Mad Scientist.  Now from the latest Hearth-Adventure Secret Mage is back and stronger than ever!

Strategy:
Trade with spells, deal damage with creatures, and protect your Ethereal Arcanist's if possible.  Counterspell has worked wonders in this meta for me and so two copies are absolutely necessary. They protect your Ethereal Arcanist's and bigger creatures, mess up your opponents plans, and if you are lucky you may even prevent a Call of the Wild (nothing feels better)! Ice Block cab be good early so that you have it for a base for both Medivh's Valet and Ethereal Arcanist and it's not going to disappear before you can get their buffs. Either control the board and crush your opponent early, or keep the area clear to then dominate the board with Medivh, Ragnaros, and Yogg.

Why not _________?
Avian Watcher:  This card is just hasn't worked for me.  If you don't have a secret its useless.  If you have a secret in your hand, then it's a 8 cost turn to get them both down.  Just not worth it in comparison to what other cards offer.
Effigy
Effigy can backfire lots early game being used on your 1/2 cost creatures and can be a waist of a card waiting for the late game.  Found the other secrets more beneficial.
Cone of Cold
I used to play this in this deck, and I had a hard time getting rid of it. It was good to keep minions off your Ethereal Arcanist and clear small minions from aggro decks.  All and all though, it was a card that only was useful part of the time and I found Babbling Books just to be too good to this deck.
Ethereal Conjurer
This card I still think could be useful in this deck if you really wanted it.  It can be a hard hit on your opponent if it is left untouched, and provides synergy to playing spells.  I just couldn't find a card to trade for it that was less useful.  If this deck had 31 cards, this would be it.

Below are my updates and to show my process of building this deck:

*Update #1: -1 Mirror Entity, -1 Ice Block, +1 Counterspell, +1 Babbling Book
Reason: Babbling Book gives the deck a little more tempo early and is still ok to get late game.  Counterspell has worked extremely well for me, just make sure you use it after they use their coin.  I find Mirror Entity is the number one secret your opponent predicts and then you end up with a 1 cost creature, so one is enough.  Ice Block I love, but there was a couple times where I've played one and then the other sits in my hand for the majority of the match so I've been trying using only one and it has been working better.

*Update #2: -1 Ethereal Conjurer -1 Cone of Cold, +1 Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, +1Babbling Book
Reason: Babbling Book has done wonders for this deck since one copy has been added, and so I decided that it just needs two.  It has given me secrets often or just the right card in times of need. Yogg-Saron, Hope's End I have tested a number of times to see if it fits.  At first I thought it was too much of a random factor that it would just be a high cost card sitting in your hand, only to find out that when you finally play it leaves you disappointed.  There was already some pricey cards, so I didn't know if there was a need for it.  After trialing him in it though I wouldn't take him out.  The people in the comments were right, Yogg-Saron, Hope's End has a place is in this and completes the deck to make it something beautiful.  I find most games with this deck either end right away because you got the early board and controlled every outcome, or you go way late game seeing who has the bigger punch.  Yogg is perfect to tip the odds in your favour if you are down.

*Update #3:  -1 Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, +1 Ethereal Conjurer
Reason:  Ya, after all that they nerfed Yogg.  Now it's just not quite enough to tip the odds in your favor, so I took him out and put in Ethereal Conjurer because he has a chance a getting a secret and works with the overall synergy of the deck.  Do you have a suggestion instead? Let me know on the comments below!  This deck has been working even better than before in the current meta, and IMO is one of the better Mage decks out there. Share your success!
