Heroic Nightbane Miracle Rogue
Gameplan:
Use the 10 mana at the start to begin cycling through your deck as fast as possible. You'll eventually be able to pull massively powerful combos with Malygos and your spells. Mulligan for cards like Barnes, Gadgetzan Auctioneer, Sprint, and Thistle Tea. If you cannot build a sustainable card draw, restart. Be aware that Nightbane has at least 2 Deadly Shots and a Kill Command, which as far as I can tell are his only removal.
Early Game:
Beginning the game with card draw of any kind is extremely important. If you do not have Gadgetzan Auctioneer or Sprint, you can fish for a Gadgetzan Auctioneer with Barnes or your cycling cards. Draw into as many cards as possible and remove threats on the board when you can. Sap is particularly valuable for removing minions with Windfury or Ancestral Spirit. Avoid using Eviscerate and your second Shadow Strike and Preparation, since these are best used on Nightbane. Sometimes, you may be stranded without card draw due to an early Deadly Shot. Continue to hold the board and you'll probably be able to cycle into another Gadgetzan Auctioneer using Shiv, Sprint, or Fan of Knives. The goal is to have a hand ready to unload a tremendous amount of damage on Nightbane over 1 or 2 turns.
Late Game:
A few turns in, you may be running low on removal. It's okay to use your weapon to remove minions if you have to, as sometimes Nightbane will use Alexstrasza on your face even when you are low. Emperor Thaurissan will help you generate a stronger combo, if you have space to play him comfortably. On turns where you will still be alive without removal, use Malygos and your face damage spells. Shadowstep Malygos to prepare for a second barrage of spells if you need to. Conceal also works, but is less reliable due to Deadly Shot. Be careful about chaining many spells together at this stage in the game if you have Gadgetzan Auctioneer on the board; fatigue damage can cost you a victory.
Other Considerations:
- Bloodmage Thalnos could be extremely valuable here to soak up a Deadly Shot, cycle a card, and provide an extra boost of damage. You can replace Thistle Tea with Bloodmage Thalnos.
- A healing card, like Antique Healbot, could give you an extra turn to setup a damage combo.
- Cold Blood is another option for a cheap damage card, but it can be difficult to have minion ready to attack.
- Journey Below could also be used to cycle with Gadgetzan Auctioneer and possibly provide a taunt, but is likely too unreliable.
just an update but i won with this for heroic as well.
i pulled malygos, preparation, fan of knives and coin on turn 1 :} Then auctioneer and emperor soon after, became really easy at that point.
The annoying part was when nightbane summoned sylvanas, kill minions with it, then resummons.... he did that at least 2 times .... >_>; it was annoying. managed to get rid of it and at the end all he got after sylv were all cleared was 1 bloodmage thalnos.
Smorc'd him at that point, he just keep going to my face without even trying to clear my board at that point :p heroic mode too weird xd..
I found OTK Worgen warrior to work a lot better but that's just me
I beat Nightbane with Miracle Rogue too. If you dont have Malyogs this deck may be better
Got it first try as is in the list. BTW in the game-plan section you mention Barnes but you did not put him in the deck list. Did not need him, but letting you know.
When I put the deck list together I was forgetting something at 29/30 cards. I figured Bloodmage Thalnos would be good but didn't actually use him in my deck. After I made the big edit, I remembered who was missing! But I don't think Barnes is core to the deck either, despite serving me well in every test run (my first victory actually had a 1/1 Malygos from Barnes and the full 4/12 Malygos on turn 3).
How's this deck? Anyone has any idea?
Fun. not an easy win but it's not hard at all. Did it on my second try, after a bit of bad luck and a close first fight.
Thanks, I did it first try with miracle hunter.
