Hey!

For anyone who didn't know Arena Moderator NeonAngel is doing a complete guide for ALL ADVENTURE BOSSES. It's not finished as of writing, but it is pretty close.

This Deck

The goal here is to have low-impact RARE cards to buff Rare Spear. I also liked the idea of giving this boss cards they can't play/are actively negative. That is why Shadowform is included, so feel free to sub in Lightwarden. Also feel free to use a different class if you don't like the Lightwarden interaction with your hero power. (Shaman has better 3's for Jeweled Scarab and Vitality Totem as a useless card).

The Match

This is a pretty simple fight because you either get good RNG or you don't. It revolves around Rare Spear and healing/buffing your minions to maintain board control.

This is a modified version of the list I used (I notably had Majordomo Executus and Arcane Giants because I am missing some cards and I wanted to have fun/experiment).

 Tips

  • Raven Idols help a lot because your deck is so bad.
  • Try to get value from everything, Don't tempo play Hemet Nesingwary unless you have nothing else to do. Try to play your Mind Visions when there are more cards created from the Hero Power (I use Hearthstone Deck Tracker, so this is easy to see.
  • An early Rare Spear can be great, but doesn't guarantee a win, or loss, if you don't get it.
  • Coldlight Oracles, and to a lesser extent Jeeveses, are very helpful because your deck is mostly trash and so is Rafaam's. Don't worry about the Murloc synergy. It shouldn't be a big deal.
  • The Entombs help deal with surprises from the Hero Power. Don't play them unless you really can't deal with a minion.
  • Use the Rare Spear liberally. It should be getting buffed regularly.
  • Restart if things are going horrible. Your only real comeback is Lightbomb from a Raven Idol, so save yourself some time and just "esc" + "restart"

 Further Notes (Warning: Boring)

Other Possible Cards

  • Arcane Golem: This would be fun, but I dusted mine for full value after the nerf. Also, it might be hard to deal with a 4/4 when your deck is trash and 1 mana doesn't really help. Also, it kills your Ancient Shade
  • I tried Doomsayers. Turns out the boss AI is smart enough to know this a good early game play.
  • Moat Lurker might be real good? I didn't try it because it seems like it could swing things if you lose a really good minion and don't have any way to kill it. Although, one could save their Forgotten Torch
  • Grim Patron may also be good as a 5-mana 3/3 is a huge tempo loss, but would be annoying if you have no way to deal with it. Again, maybe too cute because this deck makes minions with 2 attack pretty easily.

 My Run + Screenshot

I was pretty lucky in my run: I got a decent 4-drop from Raven Idol, got a Hungry Crab from Dark Peddler, got Hemet Nesingwary to hit a Mukla's Champion (The boss AI decided to play this after their hero power), and stole a Gazlowe with Mind Vision (although, the match was over by the time I could play him).
