moroes seems a lot underated.I was trying this card and i think is decent in an aggro paladin deck. The deck is fun,but is also pretty good.Reached top 100 legend with it
For those who want to see how the deck works, and why moroes is so good you can check https://www.twitch.tv/amazhs/v/85051784 from 1:07:00 to 1:11:30 .The guy maybe isn't playing the exact same list, but the list seems pretty similar.
Guys, making an extending guide,it's much harder than i thought it would be for this deck. The deck is not that easy to play, and i definately don't recommend new players to start with. The deck requires really good knowlegde of your opponents removals so you can play around them as much as you can and as long as you can. It's hard for a new player to understand when he should start going face and when he should keep playing the value game by value-trading,such as zoo does most of the times.
The strategy though is pretty straight-forward.You always mulligan aggresively for one drops. You should most of the times win the early game.I heard that for most of you guys, the problem is the mid game, when you run out of steam sometimes. There are 2 divine favours in the deck for that reason. The use of the card is not that easy as it was when secret paladins where in the meta and the value that the card got was huge most of the times. With this deck you have to work the way to getting that big value from that card and also not loose tempo on the board when you play it.
The good with this deck is that it doesn't have any really bad matchups.Face shaman, control warrior, mid hunter, rogue and other popural decks on ladder aren't really that bad matchups. On the other hand, deck doesn't have any super favourable match-ups,such as face shaman vs rogue. But i'm sure if you play well you should a lot of times be in a good spot and having a really good winrate with this deck.
The card choices are what i like more and what in my opinion fits well with the meta. You can also change cards and add others without the deck loose huge dynamic. It's just about the aproach you have. You can add a consecration for a comeback mechanic, you can add loot hoarders or knife jugglers, even a Sea giant.I suggest you to experiment with the deck. You'll have fun and you'll fell great when it works. You have to remember though. The deck is not a face deck. The deck works like zoo.You take the board early, you push a good amount of dmg every turn and value trading when possible and when you have him down enough, weapon and leeroy works as a great finisher.
The last week i experimenting a bit with the deck and i made a couple changes.First change is Loot Hoarder over Deckhand. It's really nice to have a bit of a cycle and not rely exclusively to the dive favours to draw.i think it's nice.It has synergy with steward and helps you find these divine favors and the finley which are the best cards in the deck.Second change is Silvermoon Portal over Blessing of Kings. The card it's great for the deck. Not only it buffs your minions, but also generates a 2-drop and you can have more power of board.Only one because blessing of kings still a great choice for this deck.
Great deck been too busy to rank this month. Tried this and went from rank 16 to rank 10 for the chest in 50 mins, It was rare to see turn 7.
realy cancer deck, today got legend from rank 6.
Aggro Paladin is a very efficient way to rank up because you shouldn't have any trouble getting a win rate over 50%, and it wins quickly.
Moroes is actually really good for managing the board while the more aggressive minions hit face.
This is also better than Thijs' bubble paladin, which runs out of steam too quickly and doesn't run a finisher like Leeroy Jenkins.
Haters should look at the latest Vicious Syndicate report, which is based on statistical data from thousands of players. They say Aggro Paladin is tier 2 right now.
Against Tempo Mage, that's true. And anything but Control Warrior is a bad matchup too.
On the other hand, this will do well against Rogue, Priest, Hunter, Shaman and Druid. So it's all about reading the meta.
This deck kicks some major butt! I took this deck all the way up from rank 10 to rank 6.
Overall, this deck is a lot of math. Most of my victories were pretty close games which shows that making a single mistake such as missing damage or lethal can really cost you the game.
I like this deck a lot.
Nice list. I would swap something out (maybe a juggler) for a 2nd Steward of Darkshire.
I wouldn't. That card is pretty situational.
Perhaps, but I'm a pretty big fan of situational when it buffs 1/3 of the card plays in your deck, which then adds value to your 2 blades.
Yeah true, but it is a challenge to pull off a 3-card combo in an aggro deck.
So, I managed to get from Rank 20 to 11 to this so far. Not sure about legend, but i'm doing fine with it. I swapped out one Southsea Deckhand for a Consecration. For Sir Finley Mrrgglton I try to go for the rogue hero power or druid if mage isn't available. Weird choices I know, but the rogue helps if I need the southsea charge proc or just 2 damage for 2 mana. Druid good for weapon buffs. I save the Keeper of Uldaman for any taunts I'm expecting from the opponent. This deck isn't purely face as he says, you need to find out when to trade if possible. You should harbor some board control. Definitely don't hold out too long on this game, you run out steam quickly.
I placed a lot of emphasis on the divine shield. It helped me out big time with the priests/warriors with their AOE clears.
It also helps to not just spam your clears (weapons in this case) so quickly. You might need to save them plus your Abusive Sergeants for the taunts/big threats. Classes I've had the most trouble with? I'd say Warrior if I don't build up a presence early and mages with their spells and mirrors. N'zoth Pally is also annoying to deal with since he has Infested Tauren and Tirion Fordring.
Oddly enough...priests gave me the most trouble with this deck! It isn't even the Excavated Evil. Their Wild Pyromancer and Priest of the Feast are strong enough to counter my advances.
Proof of run so far
what is this soft dude?
Hearthstone Deck Tracker if someone is interested
This deck is soo damn bad. I faced 5 warriors a row, and they all rekt me with ravaging ghoul, then I met a shaman, and he played maelstrom portal when I had a full board of 1 health minions. Such a bad deck! Dont play it! I warn u!
rank 5 ez thx
It's a fine deck, it just relies on your opponent getting off on the wrong foot and not having any taunts, AoE, or heals within the first 6 to 7 turns. So, probably not flying up the ladder with it.
Changing Monroes for a blood knight makes this deck so much better. Went from 15 to 8 in a very short time with the deck
Are there any substitutes for leeroy? he's the only expensive card I'm missing
6 cost silverhand commander or sth
Thank you!
Are you talking about Garrison Commander + 2 Silver Hand Recruits? Also, you could use Reckless Rocketeer. I used to use it before I got Leeroy Jenkins, and it does the job just fine.
lol you are so clueless stunt. we are talking about a replacement for leeroy, and why does garrison commander and 2 silverhand recruits come out?? soooo clueless tsk. ANd I said its a 6 cost. Sigh... i feel sorry for you man.
