Legend ProofLegend Proof

This is the first time I use control deck to reach legend. The deck is pretty much as same as the traditional C'Thun deck, except a few different card choices.

Different Card Choices:

#1 Double Bashes

I think the Bashes are the most important add-on in this deck. When I first used my old C'Thun deck in the early season, I didn't get too much success until I added the double Bashes. The Bashes give you consistency in the early and mid game. For other mid-range or aggro decks, they play their minions on curve in order to apply pressure. As a control warrior (C'Thun Warrior is basically control warrior), you play your removal instead. Sometimes you can even save your Execute or Shield Slam by using combination of Bash and other removal to take out bigger minions.

#2 Baron Geddon

It becomes a noticeable choice in C'Thun warrior because of Lifecoach. I found that it is a really good card in the current meta. It doesn't only do well against zoo. It is also good for token druid and shaman (especially mid-range shaman). If your opponent doesn't have a removal for it (they might use their removals for other threats because they don't expect you have Baron Geddon), you can pretty much secure a win in those match-ups.

#3 Emperor Thaurissan triumphs Elise Starseeker

Right now, I think many C'Thun players agree that Doomcaller is a must have in C'Thun deck. The only problem is whether to include Elise Starseeker or not. In my opinion, you don't need Elise Starseeker to win any control match-up. In some control matchups (like control priest), you can even not play your C'Thun and just win by fatigue. The Brann Bronzebeard and Doomcaller combo is so much more powerful than random legendaries. Therefore, Emperor Thaurissan is added to this deck. Without Emperor Thaurissan, you cannot do the combo except you have coin. Unfortunately, it is going to rotate out of standard pretty soon.  :(

#4 No Twin Emperor Vek'lor

This card doesn't trade well against other mid-range minions like Drakonid Crusher. You can add it to your deck if you find too many OTK warrior and zoo running around in ladder.

Match-ups:

Right now, the ladder is full of dragon warrior, token druid, all types of shaman and maybe some mid-range hunters. (Note: 8/10/2016) I didn't face against other decks too often so I will just talk about these matchups.

1. Dragon Warrior

I think the matchup is about 45-55 for C'Thun Warrior. If the dragon warrior player has a really good curve, he usually will just roll over any deck including C'Thun warrior. So just try to optimize your chance win.
