Ok, so I have to share my success with this deck. Back in the GvG days, I was consistently reaching rank 5 or better. Then I gradually started getting worse and worse. Up until now, I have not even broken Rank 10 and it has been very depressing. I decided to give this deck a go, and in 2 days went from 20 to Rank 9!!! That may not seem like much to some, but I have been struggling so much and no matter what I did I could not get to rank 10 anymore.
Sure, this deck has it's weaknesses, Priest wrecks it if they have their AOE, and Warrior....is Warrior. Other than that, it is somewhat likely you will get a good hand most of the time. Once you get going, if the opponent has not reacted by turn 3, its gonna be GG. Absolutely loving this!
Wait. Where is the 4 mana 7/7?
That would be my first question aswell, however since people are expecting it, you can make them hold answers for something that is not coming. This is pretty much how you tech a deck and 'shock the meta' as the OP calls it :)
I ran this deck and it loses to priest. Pre-WoTOG Aggro Shaman was decent, but the 4 mana 7/7s were the extra push it needed to be top-tier. I mean if everyone played around the 7/7s you would tech them out to "shock the meta", but they don't play around the 7/7s and they don't have instant cheap removal for it. Because they're 7/7s on turn 4. I really don't understand if I'm honest.
