This is basically an updated version of my dragon murloc beast paladin.
Now that zoobot is out I decided to make it a lower curve and include flexible lategame instead of big cards
The deck does lack some turn four minion plays, but Netherspite Historian has a 52.1245% chance of discovering at least one four-drop dragon. (actually it turns out to be a bit lower because class cards appear more often, but I'm fine with more consorts)
Changes: I am currently considering cutting huge toad and maybe a tidecaller for faeri dragons. If the deck needs any more lategame, or better options, the menageri magician could be good, but it seems a bit akward so maybe only a 1 of, and might need to cut other 5 drops if I want it, which is where my dragons are. Beasts and dragons are both on the low end, which shouldn't be a big problem, but makes them hard to cut and more could be useful.
I'm so happy that this is even a possibility. Tempo/midrange Pally (I am not talking about Secret Pally. I never played that cancer and didn't plan to play it) is probably one of my favorite decks and it just isn't the same since standard came into play. I love standard, but the other viable Paladin decks are expensive and this looks affordable too! Can't wait to play it and see what works! God speed.
So my idea for this deck was actually a zoo deck, i didn't really consider this idea, it's cool!
here's what i thought
I think the tempo approach could be really good, because if you get ahead on board your buff cards can get a lot of value. I messed around with a zoo decklist a bit as well, but decided that because you have to run tribe cards that you normally wouldn't, getting an early lead might not be consistent enough. Not that I think it couldn't work, I just couldn't make a decklist that worked myself. It looks your deck has all the right ideas about how to do it, and I like the templar into kings combo. Hungry dragon also goes along with the theme of early board control so you can get a free trade on the random 1 drop.
I do think azure drake is a bit weak in this deck, but I am going to wait to cut it because the deck is low on dragons and haven't decided how to replace it yet. I also don't want too many dragons that need even more dragons to play.
I'm gonna follow you to the end of the earth trying to perfect this deck
I'm super excited. Can't wait to try it.
