I've been having fun with a Reno Dragon Pally in Wild (Chow/Minibot/Muster/Shredder/Belcher really help a lot, it turns out), but I think Curator might allow Reno Dragon Pally to work in the Standard format. Here are some key features of the deck:
Curator Synergy:
2 Murlocs: Knight for flooding and Corrupted Seer for board clear
2 Beasts: Scarab for answers and Kodo for removal
7 Dragons: Faerie, Guardian, Azure Drake, Consort, Volcanic Drake, Nefarian, Ysera
Brann Synergy:
Extra jousts for Lance and Tuskarr
Extra discovers for Scarab and Ivory Knight (plus extra heal)
Extra growth for Blackwing Tech and Twilight Guardian
Extra damage for Seer and Corruptor
Extra card draw for Azure Drake and Curator
Extra discounting for Consort
Extra clear for Stampeding Kodo (not that likely)
Extra cards for Nefarian (requires Brann to live past one turn, or Consort)
Card Draw to get to Reno:
Acolyte of Pain
Azure Drake
Lay on Hands
Curator
Healing:
Forbidden Healing
Tuskarr Jouster
Ivory Knight
Lay on Hands
Reno Jackson
I'm guessing Book Wyrm isn't good enough to consider in this Deck? Or the Netherspite Historian for that matter?
Think you gotta get justicar in here for the win condition vs control decks
That's an excellent idea bro! When KZhan is out i'll be sure to try this out
I think nefarian, scarab, lance, murloc knight and volcanic drake are too weak to run but the concept might work when the adventure gets released. The cycling still seems lacking though, doesn't have any draw engine like renolock.
Yea maybe run Chromaggus instead of Volcanic Drake for the possibility of copies of cards you get from the Curator.
Nefarian and Scarab are good at generating answers to the board state, though Nefarian is on the slower side.
I put in Lance in place of Pyromancer because I needed an answer to early minions, and Lance is pretty likely to get the extra durability against Aggro decks. The idea is to control the board until you get to your taunts and heals, and Lance does that fairly well.
Knight doesn't really fit the Control theme of Reno decks, but it is good at refilling the board after a clear and can be a great late-game topdeck.
Volcanic Drake is a dragon, and it's not that unusual to be able to play it after killing a minimum of 2 minions. Of course it's even better if you can get it out after Doomsayer goes off. I did run Chromaggus in my Wild version of this deck, but it's pretty hard to get him to stick onto the board long enough to get his benefit. The new Book Wyrm card might be more useful than Volcanic Drake, though.
The deck has less drawing than Renolock, true, but the idea is that it has better healing and taunts to make up for it.
This deck seems really solid but we'll have to wait until Karazhan releases to find out for sure.
