Introduction

it has been some time since I posted anything here on Hearthpwn, hasn't it? So i decided to make a small post about a deck that is getting some obvious additions in ONK to Midrange/hybrid Hunterand how better the deck will be.

Kindly Grandmother and Barnes

So these are the two cards holding hands making Midrange Hunter so much better with the expansion.

The fact Hunter is getting its own private Standard-legal Haunted Creeper says a lot about Blizzard’s worries with Zoo’s popularity and how stronger it would get with the Kindly Grandmother, so it tells me a lot about how strong the card was in their internal playtesting.

With that said, Barnes complements the card’s power just too much to be even real: The dude will be getting us a free minion from our deck, and if that is a Deathrattle minion we can easily make it so the deck becomes stronger because of this card.

The Build

So this is the super important question right now, and I believe I have right answer for it!

Remember that Hybrid Hunter that we saw Rosty playing in the America’s HCT tournament that been evolving a lot since it was first seen? What if we could add the new cards to it? How would it look?

Well, the version you guys are seeing is my initial playtesting build (in case no other good cards are released for Hunter), which reminds me a lot of today’s Zoo, but with a much better late game.

This build has tons of strong outcomes for Barnes’ battlecry while only having one bad outcome (Abusive Sergeant).

What makes me so optimistic about this list is that shaping the deck to fit Barnes isn’t damaging at all for the deck’s nature, on the contrary: it only makes the deck better!

Let’s talk outcomes:

I think the only thing we’ll have to worry about is the tech choices, mostly Unleash the Hounds and Eaglehorn Bow as well as the 2-drop other cards of choice, but overall I like what I am seeing in the deck!
