Normal combos
The main combo in this deck is Wild Pyromancer used in tandem with Commanding Shout. Think of this combo as the main dish and Battle Rage plus Blood to Ichor as the sauce.Theoretically, the best combo is Wild Pyromancer+Commanding Shout+Blood to Ichor+Battle Rage giving you 4 cards, dealing 3 points of aoe damage to your opponent's board, all while preserving your own minions. Keeping advantage of the board gives you more time to get all the combo pieces you need to OTK your opponent. Please keep this all in mind as you read the following. Let’s take a look at the mulligan.
Best mulligan
Since this deck is combo deck, we need to survive until we get the pieces to combo our opponent down.Generally, this means we are looking for cards that increase our ability to survive. The best mulligan in general is Fiery War Axe, some removal ( i.e. Slam) minions that draw cards (i.e. Loot Hoarder or Acolyte of Pain).
Now let’s look at class specific mulligans.
Warrior is by far the hardest matchup for this deck. Not counting warrior I recorded more than 85 % win-rate so i will categorize the following into two categories: Versus warrior and Versus Non-warrior.
vs Warrior
Both Dragon Tempo and C’thun warrior are hard to win, but not impossible.
vs C’thun warrior
Because of the ability of C’thun Warrior to stack armor, we must wait to play Emperor until we have all of our OTK combo pieces (2 Inner Rage,Raging Worgen,Cruel Taskmaster, Rampage, Faceless Manipulator, and Charge). If you have coin, having only four pieces is fine. In order to win this matchup, you must empty your hand as fast as possible to cycle through your deck before they accumulate too much armor.(Keep in mind, this deck can dish out a maximum of 60 damage in one turn with the combo).
vs Tempo Warriors
Tempo Warrior decks are basically aggro decks with high hp minions, which can be quite hard to remove with the pyro combo, making this a very difficult matchup. The key to this match-up is to act like a control deck for the first five turns in hopes that they play low HP minion all while trying to draw as much as possible.
No way.
You can't combo worgen with faceless without emperor (in some cases, you can do it with coin, but you can't rely on it).
There are many OTK worgen decks without faceless and emperor, you can use them instead.
And... the first wing of BRM is one of the most worth wings in the games, get it.
yes it kinda work, but you need the 2º rampage instead of thaurissan, and it does less maximum damage, so you wont be able to win against c'thun warrior, also, the deck is less flexible, so you can struggle to catch up the same win rate in most of match ups, anyway, soon thaurissan will be out of standard, so time will say if this deck remain.
also cut faceless, since it is not usefull without thaurissan and add a brawl or something that you miss
No.
Why did no one ever use commanding shout with pyro before? Those cards existed in the past, even worgen combo with charge rampage etc
Nevermind, I got it now :) For those interested, Blood to ichor really helps for battle rage draw and is an extra cheap spell, as well as in the past there were numerous deathrattle minion/tokens so pyro clear wasnt enough.
your stream from 8 hours ago uses acidic swamp ooze. is this the updated version of the deck?
he uses Bloodmage Thalnos or Harrison Jones instead of Loot Hoarder, but he doesnt have it in Europe account so he's using swamp ooze
What's your opinion on replacing Loot Hoarderwith Doomsayer?
Also, what exactly is the combo? I get the Raging Worgen+2 Inner Rage+Charge+Rampage+Cruel Taskmaster, but how do you playFaceless Manipulator on the same turn without the help from Emperor Thaurissan?
you dont
Alright thanks, I replaced Faceless Manipulator with Grommash Hellscream
played a few rounds and lost mostly to early game such as face hunter, i think Doomsayer is working pretty well. The thing with Loot Hoarder is that my opponent is usually able to get rid of it before it can even attack, and never gets to combo with Commanding Shout
doomsayer is at least 7 dmg that aren't going to your face
This deck is insane. Ly good.
This deck is amazing. I really like the combo archetype but never liked patrons in it. This is good.
I said I didn't like patrons in the Worgen OTK deck(like everyone was running in the last few months) not the pre-nerf Patron Warrior with Warsong/Frothing.
I agree that Patron Warrior is a hard deck to play but I don't think this deck is an auto pilot deck, I think it takes as much thinking as Patron decks. I play Patron Warrior in wild and win rate is pretty decent, with the addition of ravaging ghoul and bloodhoof brave deck is very good.
What other matchups besides just warrior does this deck really suffer against?
actually none,i believe that all the other match-ups are favorable to you
THis deck is easily identifiable as a OTK deck. With that being said i came up against this deck while playing C'thun paladin. It was very easy to play around. Saving tirion and twin emperors for turn 9/10 means this deck has officially run out of threats. I wouldn't play this deck for that sole reason.
I think that was the point of Commanding Shout's inclusion into the deck. To brute force your way through big taunts without losing your board. The problem I have with this deck is the lack of Grim Patron which would have some really insane synergy with Commanding Shout. If you had a bunch of Patron for example and their answer was slamming down Twin Emps, next turn you would play Commanding Shout and just blow right through them increasing your board at the same time. Which is why I would take out either the Blood To Ichor, Shield Block, or one of both to add in Grim Patron to this deck.
