Hi I'm Mitsuhide ( https://twitter.com/ONE_Mitsuhide ) playing for Sector One www.sectorone.eu ). I am a big fan of fast-paced decks and post guides regularly.         Below you can find a guide on my latest hunter list. Enjoy!

Got second place in Hearthstone Festival major with this deck in my lineup:

edit 1: -freezing trap +horserider

edit 2: -explosive trap +argent squire / -2x tiger +2x highmane

(to make the warrior matchup better &  fits the curve better, turn 5 you can play 3+2)

edit 3: -houndmaster +deadly shot

 I: Introduction.

Hunter lost a lot of it's strong cards like Mad Scientist, Haunted Creeper, 3-attack Knife Juggler, Leper Gnome and Piloted Shredder with the latest update. Because of this loss in important tempo cards, many people tried to take a slower and more reactive approach. This meant including cards like Deadly Shot and Stampeding Kodo to regain lost tempo in the mid to late stages of the game.

I am not a big fan of this approach. It truly shines against control, but in the current meta where tempo is key, I think hunter needs to be built faster. What I tried is to make a list that has a lot of early game flexibility and tops of with Call of the Wild. It should win the hunter mirror by a fair margin while also being decent (40-50%) against zoo and shaman, some of hunter's hardest matchups. With these changes, I achieved legend rank 10 today.

II: Strategy.

What we're trying to do is very similar to what old hybrid hunter used to. Make favorable trades, play minions on curve and push enough damage to close out the game with Quick Shot or Kill Command. Hunter is generally not a very hard class to play, but what truly separates pro's from newbies is that they know when to start pushing face. Don't trade if you're certain that your opponent will make the trade for you. Face damage is key! Be aware though, if you're at the risk of getting punished by a certain card, take your time considering if it's worth playing around it. If your chances of winning by playing it safe are low, sometimes you just have to go all-in.

III: Mulligan.

The mulligan is pretty standard. Look for your Fiery Bat 's, Argent Squire, Flame Juggler 's and Huge Toad 's. Keeping Abusive Sergeant with a squire is fine. Versus other tempo decks you always keep Eaglehorn Bow, versus control you always keep Animal Companion. If you're on the coin you generally want to look for coin 2-drop into 2-drop or 1-drop into coin 3-drop. Versus shaman you can consider keeping Quick Shot as it's a good emergency removal.

IV: Meta-calls.

As with any deck. You'll have to adapt in order to perform optimally on the ladder. When I was playing this list, ladder was full of hunter, shaman and zoolock. The only control I was facing came in the form of warrior. If you're facing a lot of control like n'zoth paladin, renolock, control warrior etc. you might want to consider changing the following:

Swap out 2x Flame Juggler for 2x King's Elekk

Swap out 1x Explosive Trap and 1x Argent Squire for 2x Savannah Highmane

Swap out 1x Abusive Sergeant and 1x Unleash the Hounds for 2x Deadly Shot

Changing the above will shift your deck to something closer to the popular midrange hunter, but I would not recommend doing so in an aggressive ladder meta.
