I disagree. I've played this deck a bit as its shown above, and multiple times I've felt like the deck is weaker without thaurissan. There are so many fantastic targets, including sunfuries, watchers, shadowflame, brann + healbot combo, utility cards like coil and darkbomb, and of course everyone's favorite Lord of the Burning Legion. Not to mention it will rarely hit less than 7 cards, so the value potential is incredible. I also think Loatheb is an obvious inclusion, as it does wonders against combo decks, which handlock struggles against.
I've tweaked this deck to run thaurissan and loatheb instead of sylvanas and loatheb, and a second hellfire instead of a second chow. I feel like this performs better against aggro decks, while still being able to crush (non-combo) midrange and control decks.
Im having a hard time deciding which version of handlock I like more here are the two lists I am currently running I would like your guys' opinion on which one you prefer
.
Combo is used in one of the best reno lists in my opinion (VLPS' list) and you dont need removal when you are constantly slamming down threats.
I apreciate your drive to better Handlock il try this deck out for a couple of games and let you know how it goes, it looks very solid for midrange and aggro games.
Not running Lord Jaraxxus in the combo version is understandable, but I think its absolutely necessary for the standard version as a finisher against control decks.
A card I would definitely recommend is Eerie Statue. You can cut basically anything for it but I've had success with dropping a Defender of Argus. Definitely deserves a mention in the guide. I'm also considering cutting Brann as he's a soft taunt and doesn't do enough without any Battlecries to play with him.
Been wanting to make a handlock for months. Thanks for the writing out the deck m8.
No problem, I hope you have much success with the deck.
hi bro im gonna try it is still playable ?
It is but if you're new to it you might find yourself losing a lot its very hard to play rn, its kind of like how miracle rogue is you go on long losing streaks before learning the ins and outs of the deck. This deck does fine from rank 20 to rank 2-1ish in my experience with it.
yep im not new but i got too many lose streaks :C but first time i play handlock and i think im winning some games right now. rlly hard to play it.
Man it's so hard, I'm stuck at rank 19 this season and of the past two months playing over 200 or so games on the deck, I'm still constantly losing D:. It's a very hard journey indeed. Needless to say I'm feeling pretty worn out right now. Still really nice guide, nice to see it updated so often ;).
Hey is this deck still viable in the current meta?
Yeah but I would place this deck at tier 3 atm.
Is there a viable replacement for jaraxxus?
Mal'ganis, reno, healbot, any big minion but if you want a direct replacement Majordomo Executas works
Alexstrasza or Ysera should do the trick.
The renolock guide is up http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/381327-in-depth-legendary-renolock-guide im going to make this guide just as advanced I put a lot of time and effort into my renolock guide and im going to do the same for my handlock guide to keep the quality of my work on par with the rest of my work
Im sure it can but personally for me when I climb to legend with warlock, I brick with handlock around rank 2 and switch to reno for the final push since the games are much easier but im sure if I put in the effort to play it to legend it could be done.
Im thinking about adding reno to this deck to make it a tier 2 viable deck to get top 100 with and make it consistent against most top decks, but it might end up turning into a reno deck with late game win conditions. But il keep trying to look for a viable consistent list that can keep up with the current meta without reno and il do my best since im making a reno guide soon.tm anyways.
