Thanks im glad my guide helped. Try Cutting Blood Knight for Faceless. And when playing versus aggro look for sunfury, watcher, and owl. Play on curve and taunt up a lot of creatures and you should win.
Take out bloodknight and one shadowflame. Add Faceless and Sunwalker. Alexstrasza and Jaraxuss are too slow for the current meta
Yeah, For another faceless, a shadowbolt or a shadowflame. These are all equally viable options it is just a matter of personal preference.
Hello Skeletaldude, you haven't mentioned one of the most difficult matches for Handlock - Shaman.
How do you mulligan against them and whats the general strategy ?
Also, what is the reason for using 2 Owls ?
Thank you
So for mulligans against Shaman I discard everything that isnt Hellfire, Twilight Drake & Mountain Giant. Keep Earthen Ring Farseer If you have the coin and play it turn 3 after you tap turn 2. And keep Ancient Watcher as well if you have coin or have Owl and Watcher in hand.
The way you play against them, what works for me personally I play against them as if its a control match-up, they have Earthshock for your Twilights and Hex for your giants. You can't really play around that so just play into it its inevitable. But try to make your twilights eat earthshocks and your mountain giant eat hex's so that when you are low he has nothing to counter your molten giant+taunt. Then you can clear his board with Shadowflame or Hellfire and start swinging face.
I run 2 Owls because if I have watcher in hand i can play it, silence it the following turn then still have another owl to silence a huge taunt like alakir vs shaman or ancient of war vs druid. They are used in this deck as a cheap ghetto form of removal in order to gain lethal damage when needed, from silencing a taunt.

Quick question for you! Do you think a shadowbolt is useless? I use one shadowbolt and one thalnos seen here http://imgur.com/Wt1mFjo
Instead of BGH and 1 siphon soul. I do have 1 in the deck though.
That variation is pretty good that is one of Dandido's old variation which he managed to get top 10 on EU but I think instead of Alex he used a BGH. So shadowbolt can be good just some people prefer to run it some people rather not its a matter of personal preference.
Personally do you think they are both equally as good? And I see you didnt want alex then did. Do you think its smartto put BGH in instead of alex? Im at rank 14 slowly getting my wins but im not sure if i need it till higher ranks or not
Yes they are both equally as good. You can replace Alex with BGH if you feel its necessary the reason why I like Alex currently is because I always maintain board control the entire game so I have 2 giants on the field so that turn 9 I can Alex and then swing for 18 Damage. Its also very strong versus the control warrior match up which I face a lot. If you don't have board control for the whole game you either are very unlucky with draws or not playing correctly but, its possible to be rushed down before you can stabilize. If you find that to be the case remove Alex and/or BGH and replace it with Shadowflame and/or Shadowbolt.
Here is what I would use if you do not have a lot of dust. and you can still get legend with it my friend has done it with this version in about a weeks time. http://gyazo.com/4200ec2a9552d48d2e056c8a12d97fc5
If you feel like BGH is dead replace it with Thalnos or Any other situational card you think fits.
@scizx, Im glad this deck is working out for you. Thanks for commenting
For your first question, I feel like Handlock does very well against the current meta which is Miracle Rogue for the most part. Handlock is usually seen as one of the few counters to miracle rogue at the moment. Handlock doesn't have a lot of problematic match ups from my experience but the most annoying match ups for me is warrior, because the games are usually 15+ minutes long, and Zoo because, if you don't get cards like Molten Giant,Hellfire & the Ancient Watcher+Shadowflame combo before turn 4 you are pretty much dead. Other than that most of the other match ups should be easy.
For your second question for matchup specific tips I would assume that you would like to know how to play versus the meta so versus Miracle Rogue when you're mullioning look for Mounatin Giant,Twilight Drake and Earthen Ring Farseer because Miracle Rogues need to use a lot of spells to get through Giants and Twilights. So what happens is if you get a 4/9 Twilight drake out and they have no creatures they would have to Shiv+Eviscerate+Eviscerate to get through that or they would need to sap. So try to bait out their saps earlier on so that later on they can't sap your taunted creatures away giving them lethal. Earthen Ring Farseer is just good because it turns his focus away from your face for 1 turn (if its before turn 5 or so), it heals you for 3, it gives you a turn 3 play if you have the coin and it also trades with most of his creatures like S:17 Agent,Loot Hoarder, Earthen Ring Farseer, ect.. It has just always done well in Miracle Rogue match ups in my experience if you personally don't like it you could just Mulligan it away for something else.
For your third question those cards are way too slow for the current meta. For example if you Alextrasza or Lord Jaraxxus at turn 9 chances are with the way the meta is most decks can burst you from 20 HP so those cards are pretty useless. If the meta because slower so more control warriors and druid decks then I would consider them but for the most part I wouldn't recommend them at the moment. Blood mage is alright but I just dont find him useful in handlock mainly because he usually dies the next turn so you don't benefit from the magic damage and you just gain a card there are 2 ways warlocks can card draw Tap and Mortal Coil I think these two methods are more than enough. And if you would want to have Bloodmage just for a potential Soulfire+Soulfire combo for a 10 damage finisher that is a pretty risky thing to do because Soulfires aren't 100% reliable, because it might discard the other one and you are left in an awkward position to just make a new play on the spot and may potentially throw the game.
If you feel like I didn't go into enough detail for a question you may have asked or have other questions feel free to leave another comment. Thanks.
I had a change of heart with Alextrasza my this variation runs it its very strong vs long even match ups as well as vs control warrior on of the hardest match ups it can also save you in the aggro match ups. I really misjudged this card. This card is very impactful in certain situations.
No problem and thank you.
