Here is my version of Tempo Warrior. The other lists claiming to be tempo warriors weren't really tempo decks and struggled to win board early vs shamans, zoos, hunters, etc. This version has cruel taskmasters instead of slams to win the board early and azure drakes instead of battle rages because pretty much every tempo deck in hearthstone has always used azure drakes. Battle rages were just too frequently stranded in your hand and played around by your opponent. Argent commanders have been great vs pretty much everything. they let you interact with the board vs aggro, get value trades, and give you lots of opportunities to flat out steal games with smorc.
This is the only deck I've played this season so it works great for ranking up and after hitting legend. my win rate for just games played after hitting legend is 73%
it has just enough draw between the acolyte, azures, harrison, and varian. its not a control a deck so you dont just sit back and draw cards. the goal is really to constantly apply pressure. if you lose board you can still win through smorc. i just broke into the top 50 and several of my friends are having great success with it also. give it a shot!
I'm fully agree with you about card draw. Now I'm just trying to get at least 2 cards from acolyte and that's fine.
Yesterday i was able to beat nzoth paly thanks to face damage of 2 korkrons and 2 argent commanders though he cleared my board 2 times in a row (second was varian). Moreover I must say that i wanted to swap 1 taskmaster for 1 ww but there's no need for it as zoos are bad for this deck only with your bad starting hand.
There were too many control matchups in past few days + all kinds of shamans and that are decks that i'm struggling against. I'm still excited to hear that you and your friends are playing with this deck at legend, i hope i can have enough time and luck this month to finally get to legend myself.
Thanks for you advice about smorcing because sometimes i'm just trying to hold the board by all means. Could you give me any tips that you find cruicial for countering shamans and controls?
And many thanks again!
This seems like one of the best suited lists I've seen for extracting genuine tempo and value from Varian Wrynn. Very few card pulls I would be disappointed to see. I'm tempted to finally give him crafting priority.
Also enthused to see Argent Commander find his way out of the unemployment line.
How do you find the Bloodhoof Braves holding up at that high end of ladder? I don't suppose you're seeing the type of decks where the slight rise in Stampeding Kodo is a noticeable factor.
Bravo, I say.
bloodhoof brave might be too good to not play even though it does have some weaknesses. usually the kodo decks are desperate to survive and just look for any target. they frequently end up using them on slimes, cruel tasks, and armorsmiths before bloodhoof comes out. they also have a limited window to hit them with kodos before they enrage so I haven't found it to be a big enough issue to not play them. if i faced kodos every single game it might be a card to consider replacing but I'm not sure.
argent commanders have been amazing vs pretty much everything! i'm in love with them all over again.
