TIPS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR GAMEPLAY:
UPDATE: This got to Rank 1 of Hot in just a few hours, thanks to you guys. This is by far the best deck to climb right now and I actually haven't lost a game with it since I created this guide ramping it from a 80% to a 84%. I'm quite sure this deck can stand at a 65% winrate in competitive play.
This is the current version of the Totem Shaman, which turned out to be far superior to other shaman decks that run Flamewreathed Faceless
Pro-Player Xixo played a variation of this deck at dreamhack and the legend player Loyan created the archetype for this deck.
It's super easy to climb with this as it can be super aggressive and you can win by turn 6 easily. It seems like Priest is actually it's worst matchup and you don't see those often on ladder.
Card Explanation:
I made this video real quick explaining how and in which combination to use the cards. It's a card guide and nothing more, but I hope you still enjoy it. Full gameplay and explanation is coming soon.
MULLIGAN:
In general you want to mulligan for your early game.
Argent Squire, Tunnel Trogg, Flame Juggler, Totem Golem, Tuskarr Totemic
As you can see there are ALOT of cards you can mulligan for, so you usually start with a good hand. There are a few decks where you want to keep specific cards in your hand to counter the opponnent sooner or later.
vs. SHAMAN
Keep Lightning Bolt or Rockbiter Weapon + your early game cards. You can also keep a Hex instead and use it on their Dr.4 aka. Flamewreathed Faceless once they play it, putting them in a huge disadvantage.
vs. WARLOCK
Keep Lightning Storm or Tunnel Trogg + Lightning Bolt most of the warlocks are Zoo and a well timed Lightning Storm just fucks em over, but be careful not to use it too early, or they'll just fill the board again. Trogg + Lightning Bolt destroys their turn one Voidwalker and challenges any of their 2 drops without dying itself.
vs. WARRIOR
Nothing special to keep, except Harrison Jones IF you techd him in. Just look for your early game and try to accelerate before the warrior gets too much armor or board control.
REPLACEMENTS:
There aren't alot of replacements to be honest. NO YOU CAN'T REPLACE Tunnel Trogg!
You can replace Lightning Storm or Feral Spirit or Argent Squire for a Flamewreathed Faceless and Harrison Jones
VIDEOS MADE OF THIS DECK:
Does eternal sentinel have a place in this deck? Did you just leave it out to save dust? It's a great card IMO, and I got them from packs anyway. Replace with the flame jugglers? or replace one flame juggler and one argent squire? or replace the bloodlust?
andsave some in your hand .
I play this deck with two primal fusions instead of lighting bolt primal. Is lighting bolt really that good to replace a primal fusion?
I don't always find myself drawing into my removal fast enough, so I decided to swap out a feral spirits for a flamewreathed faceless and an argent squire for elemental destruction, I was losing to a lot of zoo because I just can't keep up with the board state, even after well placed lightning storms those giants+doomguards just beat me because of their high health total, they could just trade once and still be above the damage for lightning storm to kill. Now that I have elemental destruction, I've won many games against a zoo who goes all in due to the sheer damage of elemental destruction, as well as I keep it in the mirrors incase the board gets too out of control with totem golems or a flamewreathed faceless that traded unknowingly that I had a a elemental destruction in my hand.
You probably don't want to sacrifice more of your early game. Doomhammer is probably the best card to replace. Most mid shaman decks run one or the other, but rarely both. They play mostly the same role, but Al'Akir has the benefit of being immune to weapon destruction.
How essential is DoomHammer? This deck seems great but the ultra rare is making me squeamish.
Doomhammer is the real cancer in Shaman decks.
Doomhammer is definately essential to any Shaman deck. It can easily push burst damage to the face or to clear the board while maintaining your own.
I've played around 30 games with this deck and have not been finding effectiviness with Flame Juggler. Has anyone been finding that true as well?
Ez climbing, thanks m8
This deck is currently obsolete and cannot compete in any rank really. You need at the very least 100 games with a deck to be talking stats. Even that is not enough.
So, enlighten us and show us your stats proving that deck is obsolete then.
I'm sure you're a result based player, Just because your lost a few games to bad rng; you think that the deck ultimately isn't viable.
Hi, the priority is with hero powering every turn or just playing cards? After some turns i run out of cards. Should i hero power every turn to force my opponent to use his board clear?
nice deck, i personally use two Eternal Sentinel, gain me much tempo after Lightning Storm and Feral Spirit, or just anything with overload.
I was extremely impressed as I got 3 on the run, then lost 4 in a row once druids came to town. Useless versus anything with a mild control element.
Really nice deck for climbing... Played 22 Games and I'm 16-6 atm :) The problem is, that warrior is a hard counter to this deck (3-5) but I guess I can take it ^^
Love this deck, but it's being wrecked by everyone in this season
Started at Rank 19 in S27 and went 4-1 to kick things off. The only thing that slowed me down was C'Thun Druid who got too many taunts up.
Rank 5 a few hours before reset GG
