TIPS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR GAMEPLAY:
UPDATE: This got to Rank 1 of Hot in just a few hours, thanks to you guys. This is by far the best deck to climb right now and I actually haven't lost a game with it since I created this guide ramping it from a 80% to a 84%. I'm quite sure this deck can stand at a 65% winrate in competitive play.
This is the current version of the Totem Shaman, which turned out to be far superior to other shaman decks that run Flamewreathed Faceless
Pro-Player Xixo played a variation of this deck at dreamhack and the legend player Loyan created the archetype for this deck.
It's super easy to climb with this as it can be super aggressive and you can win by turn 6 easily. It seems like Priest is actually it's worst matchup and you don't see those often on ladder.
Card Explanation:
I made this video real quick explaining how and in which combination to use the cards. It's a card guide and nothing more, but I hope you still enjoy it. Full gameplay and explanation is coming soon.
MULLIGAN:
In general you want to mulligan for your early game.
Argent Squire, Tunnel Trogg, Flame Juggler, Totem Golem, Tuskarr Totemic
As you can see there are ALOT of cards you can mulligan for, so you usually start with a good hand. There are a few decks where you want to keep specific cards in your hand to counter the opponnent sooner or later.
vs. SHAMAN
Keep Lightning Bolt or Rockbiter Weapon + your early game cards. You can also keep a Hex instead and use it on their Dr.4 aka. Flamewreathed Faceless once they play it, putting them in a huge disadvantage.
vs. WARLOCK
Keep Lightning Storm or Tunnel Trogg + Lightning Bolt most of the warlocks are Zoo and a well timed Lightning Storm just fucks em over, but be careful not to use it too early, or they'll just fill the board again. Trogg + Lightning Bolt destroys their turn one Voidwalker and challenges any of their 2 drops without dying itself.
vs. WARRIOR
Nothing special to keep, except Harrison Jones IF you techd him in. Just look for your early game and try to accelerate before the warrior gets too much armor or board control.
REPLACEMENTS:
There aren't alot of replacements to be honest. NO YOU CAN'T REPLACE Tunnel Trogg!
You can replace Lightning Storm or Feral Spirit or Argent Squire for a Flamewreathed Faceless and Harrison Jones
VIDEOS MADE OF THIS DECK:
Just made this deck and I played 4 games and I didn't win a single one ...I dont know what im doing wrong with this deck Its weak to board clear and I always have no cards in my hand!
Isn't elemental destruction better than lightning storm?
Elemental Destruction kills your own minions, so its not very good if your a board control deck, but its better if your more control style
Thank you so much, just reach rank 5 pretty easy ! Im newbie in HS , play for 2 mounths only and this deck give me a lot.
Very solid deck, with the best part being that it doesn't cost much to create if you were missing some pieces. Been really nice to be able use this competitive deck while still contemplating where I want the majority of my dust to go.
Got legend with that deck in 3 last days. Here is a few advices from me:
Rank 20-5 - Easy climb. Rank 5-3 - Change deck to aggro (there is a many warlocks, warriors and shamans), after rank 3 switch back and enjoy easy climb (you will face legend decks, most of them playing just for fun cause they can't lose legend). Here's my legend proof. https://pp.vk.me/c631521/v631521809/2cc7c/6s7ImOfGNEg.jpg Overvall it's amazing deck, just learn it a bit and don't be sad about losing, 5-3 is the hardest part, remember it and u will get your legend!
Yeah this deck actually going well.. played 10 games won 9 lost 1 to some weird hunter
I can't even get past rank 15 with dragon priest, c'thun warrior, temp and mirror matches. I probably suck but like i don't know wtf to do.
Depends on what you queue in to. Last night was full of CW so i was getting 80% +. Today is mostly zoo so 50/50.
g3tgud
I did the same here, dropping Fusion for Fleamwreath, and it's been working out well. Great synergy with mana tide! All around painful for the opponent.
thats why i only play paladin
Hi,
Below-average Hearthstone player here. Been playing this deck, and having a really hard time with control warrior, priests and druids.
I try not to overextend, but a few spell-heavy druids just live through my initial burst, and I end up without anything great at the end to counter their Ysera, Yogg, or other heavy creatures.
What I noticed was that most of them have faster draws than me. Any help would be appreciated!
Control warrior is one of the best match ups for this deck ( or at least for me). Keep hex and use it only on really heavy stuff. Try to pressure him to use brawl early so you can stomp on him later on. You can skip turn 2 and 3 by pressing the button so you can set up the thing from below after he brawls you. And use Valiant only when you have a big totem board. I hope that helps
pretty good deck! ; )
Ton of fun playing this deck, pretty easy to climb with :D
This deck is so strong. Let's put it this way. Before playing this deck, I had ZERO ranked shaman wins. Now I have 20, moving from rank 17 to my current 9 and streaking. Didn't keep track but I'd estimate I've gone about 20-4 with it on NA.
Some thoughts I have regarding the deck as a very newbie shaman player. Primal Fusion is not a "win-more" card. It is actually the MVP of this deck. Lets say you didn't pull a one drop but coined Totem Golem. Well in the second round you've got one mana and can buff your Golem to 4/5, which makes it quite formidable in round two. Primal Fusion can turn your 0 attack totems into 3/5s fairly easily by the fifth or sixth round. All of a sudden, you can clear the board and plop down more minions. I actually play with two in my deck and just one Lightening Storm, which seems to just sit in my hand quite often.
I have started to place Tuskarr Totemic to the left of minions, in case a Flametongue Totem is spawned.
Protect your Mana Tide Totem behind taunt. If it lives for two or more rounds, you've probably won.
Flame Juggler is the only card that seemed not that great and out of place. No real synergy with totems or anything in the deck. It never seems to hit where you want him to hit. I'm thinking of trying to sub in Dire Wolf Alpha, as it would at least have some synergy with the totems. The loss of health might be a problem to drop on curve though.
I too am thinking perhaps Flame Juggler could be replaced. How about a nice Mad Bomber for some fun, or even a Wild Pyromancer because they work as both a soft taunt and a good body? Twisted Worgen or Twilight Geomancer might also be better if sticky minion more likely to get an attack in are wanted? Have anyone tested any of these replacements, or have any thoughs about them?
This deck is aggro, which is gd against most decks
So, I've been playing this deck for awhile and I've been hovering around rank 7 for awhile.
Cards that seem a little lackluster to me are:
Flame Juggler: Randomly useless often enough, Ladder seems to be full of Control, so this seems to do literally nothing.
Argent Squire: Feels like a blank too often, unless you have (Rockbiter weapon, Flametongue Totem or maybe Lightning Bolt/Storm.)
Primal Fusion: (Feels win-more)
I do think Feral Spirit should be only at one, it's not great in multiples and you really only want it to protect a mana tide totem or something, in which case Thing from Below is just often better. I could even see them be cut entirely.
Everything else seems spot on. Not sure if we want one or two Flamewreath Faceless, but at least one is necessary.
So to summarize: I think we have up to seven cards we could possible play around with.
(1x Primal Fusion, 2x Argent Squire, 2x Flame Juggler, and 2x Feral Spirit)
at least one should be flamewreath faceless, the other should absolutely be Harrison Jones, leaving us with 5 spots left.
Some ideas:
Acidic Swamp Ooze (Control Warrior, Miracle Rogue and Shaman are frequent on ladder, soetime Rallying Sword from Pallys.)
Dreanel Totemcarver (A bit win-More, but Synergies well.)
Knife Juggler (Lots of cards trigger this such as Feral Spirit, Tuskarr Totemic or simply our hero power.)
Crazed Alchemist (Lets smaller minions Trade of with Opponents Troggs, Totem Golems, Armorsmith, Frothing Berserker, Bloodhoof Brave, Northshire Cleric, etc, the list goes on.)
Dire wolf Alpha, ( a mini Flametongue Totem.)
Garrison Commander (helps us produce more totems.)
Tinkmaster Overspark (Can possibly make a totem awesome or maybe an emergency Hex.)
Cult Master (Extends the value of our totems.)
Gormok the Impaler (should be easy to trigger in this deck.)
Nexus Champion Saraad (We want to hero power alot anyway, so we could get some value out of it.)
