Total Deck Rating

This deck is designed for those who are just starting out as a Hunter and who want to try the Beast deck. It has no rares/legendaries - you can build this deck with a the basic Hunter set.
Eventually I want to replace Raid Leaders with Snake Traps and Stormwind Champions with Savannah Highmanes after enough games.
The high points of this build is raw power and buffing with all the Beast abilities. It's fairly straight forward to play - Attempt to go after the enemy Hero every round. Use the Hunter Ability sparingly as it does not compliment the combo, but is there in the event of two free mana and endgame.
The weakness of this build is it's heavy on 3-mana creatures - that's why I put in Tracking and Starving Buzzards so you can get what you need for the mana you have.
Enjoy!
For some reason, I ended up switching out Kill Command x2 for Multishot x2 (might change it back to Kill Command), and I also changed Tracking x2 to Booty Bay Bodyguard x2. I feel the BBB's give me more room to buff and set up for a Core Hound with Charge (from Tundra Rhino)
I'm currently on a 3 ranked win-streak with the deck with the above modifications.
I replaced the Patriarchs with Frostwolf Grunts to try and get some more cards down early. It's not a bad deck I guess.
I played 4 games and miserably lost all of them :s . It wasn't even close, if they literally got more than 2 cards on the board I had no way of ridding them.
I like the above suggestion of replacing the Stormwind Champion with Savannah Highmane. I'm also thinking about running Unleash the Hounds instead of Stonetusk Boar. While the Highmane adds 200 dust to the cost and Unleash the Hounds another 80 (total of 360) that amount of dust can be gotten by completing the early achievements and disenchanting a few if you have some to spare, so not as cheap as the base model, but still doable within the first day or two of playing.
You need amazing luck on card draws for this to stand up to anything. I regularly have to wait 2-3 turns before I can do anything at all, and when I finally CAN, taunts destroy this deck entirely. Too bad everyone uses taunts. Downvoted.
Wow, the win ratio with this deck lay insanly high for what it costs total.
I had the luck of having some golden cards which I could sacrifice for the dire wolf alpha's, i used the card that changes the minions health to 1(works good but not as good as with the wolfs)
This deck has no removals.......
also 4x 7mana minions.... If you have luck, sure it may work, bad luck, your not playing anything....
This deck has 0 direct removal besides the very few weak charge minions, I don't even understand why this deck is in the top rankings
read deck descripton before posting
Having good success with this deck so far. Although I don't have any Dire Wolf Alpha's and have instead replaced them with 2 Ironbeak Owl's. I have found the silence to be very useful and would consider leaving them in once I do obtain the Dire Wolves and instead replace the 2 Raid Leader's. I have also tried experimenting with Scavenging Hyena's and although I have only got to boost them a couple of times, if nothing else they tend to take some heat away from your Starving Buzzard's as they tend to get targeted first.
I just don't get it. I'm having horrible luck with this deck. I've won one game out of ten. Everything beats me but one really bad warrior.
Sounds like you may have disenchanted a card that you had in that deck. You'll have to either delete or remake that deck.
It seems like this is the kind of forum to suffer from survivor bias. I have played 6 games with this so far, winning 2. This deck has four 7-drops in it, and here was my draw sequence for the last 3 games (which I started recording after getting suspicious):
4, 4, 3, 2, 7, 5, 5
1, 2, 7, 1, 7, 7, 3
2, 7, 1, 3, 3, 1, 1, 2, 7, 7
The early 7s and 5s are enough to kill the tempo of this deck. Not sure if it's the deck or just Blizzard RNG hates me (pretty sure it's the second).
I've had those games for sure, which is why I took the author's advice and made the changes he listed above. Those Highmanes are awesome with just a 6 mana investment. Snake trap isn't bad either.
Just got the beta yesterday and was having a hellava time getting wins... only played Might and Magic Duels for 24hours so kinda new(b) to card games. Manged to get my second win and against a priest which surprised me.
Had to sub in 6 cards because I don't have the full starter set yet but it worked quite well regardless.
Thanks for the deck build!
*update* Have been using it non-stop and it's a must have if you're starting out in the Beta. I'd say I'm around 75% wins with it in ranked matches.
I found this deck to be a great starting point for hunter play. I was getting smashed with my homegrown deck, but this one took me well into gold without much trouble. I even made a video of one of my matches. I can't recommend this enough if you're just starting out with Rexxar.
This deck works well, so far at least.
Matt_Sparks - nice video! You added in the Highmane and defeated the purpose of a poor man's deck, but it's a perfect choice of a card you'd want to add if you have it. I'd like to make a rich man's beast deck sometime, but I'd need to test it out in-game first.
I made a video using the deck & did my best to explain how it all works. I hope you enjoy it!
Used to be good now it gets crushed cause it has no ista kill cards like mutishot or kill command etc when needed for mid game.
