-1 Defender of Argus +1 Firelands Portal (will probably be replaced with Medivh when he is released)
An upgraded non-budget version of my budget mage deck
http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/503285-budget-cthun
The most important upgrade in my opinion is Twin Emperor Vel'kor
If there is enough interest I will make a brief guide on how to play it.
Check out my other no adventure budget decks below:

I make these decks to give f2p players some fun decks to try out instead of just druid c'thuns. I sometimes sacrifice making the deck slightly better to put in new and fun cards. Personally I'd rather have fun and win 50% percent of the time then net deck and win 60% of the time.
Yea I actually went ahead and replaced a twilight elder and a faceless summoner for two arcane blasts. I feel it's a good replacement
Crazed Worshipper? It has taunt. better early game than late game but thats all I have that I would replace it with
I cant get this deck past 17. I got to 14 with the budget version. Im not a bad player and this is frustrating. Does anyone have more than the posted video? I would like to see others using this deck to see if/what I am doing wrong.
Side note I do not have Brann but I have a crazed worshiper instead
This is my deck and it's alot better. Antonidas is far worse in C'thun mage then Ragnaros, because it is slow like shit, especialy considering low amount of cheap spells. Also turn 7 is already occupied by Twin Emperor. Turn 7 emperor into turn 8 ragnaros is very high impact play. I've won alot of games just with this 2 turns.
Also it is stupid to not run arcane blast with cult sorcerer or even azure drakes because 4 damage for 1 mana is a very high tempo advantage. Also i suggest to run 2xcult sorcerers with 1 arcane explosion because 2 dmg aoe for 2 mana is far better than arcane missiles vs agro and zoo.
Faceless manipulator might be changed to sylvanas and crazed worshiper to 2nd azure drake though.
Not sure why everyone is complaining this deck is bad and Antonidas is useless. If you play him with a 3 mana spell, it's just another way to win a game if your C'thun dies. Many don't know how to play the deck so they blame the deck, it's the player. I am rank 9 with this deck right now, from 25. I only lose here and there to Druid and that's it, i suggest everyone learn the deck better rather then complain how bad it sucks.
On a another note, thank you very much for this deck! It can definitely hit Legend, I added Arcane blast for early removal for those pesky Shaman decks!
Yea, this deck makes me want to quit hearthstone. any tricks you use to get rank 9? I'm stuck figuring this deck out as ive spent all my dust since starting on it.
You need to play the mana curve, always try to get mana wyrm and other low cost spells, make them waste removal on things you dont need, so that when you play C'thun they cant remove it. Remember C'thun is not your only way of winning, Antonidas is really good just play him with another spell and you can either use the extra fireballs to remove or hit the face. Use as few spells as possible to remove, save Brann for triple taunt with Twin emperor or extreme removal and buff with C'thun's disciple. i wish the best to you, i can't really give any more information as I have no been playing the game long
Thank you very much for the explination, I will give it a shot!
Played this deck for 23 games from rank 20 through rank 16.
0-2 against Druid
0-2 against Pally
2-1 against Mage
3-1 against Priest
3-1 agianst Rogue
2-0 against Warlock.
4-0 against Shammy
1-1 against Warrior
0-0 against Hunter
65% overall. It definitely was much easier at 20-18. Started slowing as I approached 15.
Edit, for what it's worth, only one game did Anton give me the extra fireball needed to win. Might have to swap him out for something else.
Why is Antoninus in here?
What purpose does he serve?
There are only 4 spells that cost 2 or less
There is no synergy
Ragnaros is a lot better.
since the expand came out the decks on here have gotten worse and worse
You are just reacting to what you are currently seeing on the site, whenever a meta shifts decks need to get sifted until a meta is formed and the most efficient decks come on top. This is always the case especially when 2 expansions of extremly powerful cards leave the format. If u are interested in playing the most efficient decks just wait a while, meanwhile this is the best time to try your own creations, just imagine making a deck that becomes a staple in the current meta.
Is it worth playing Archmage Antonidas with so few cheap spells?
It was usually played in decks with 4x one drop spells and 4x two drop spells (like Arcane Blast, Arcane Missiles,Frostbolt,Flamecannon)
What should I replace Antonidas for?
Hm... It's hard to replace this card. You can try a tech card like The Black Knight or Harrison Jones.
anything other than those?
Mind Control Tech, Earthen Ring Farseer, Big Game Hunter or Blizzard.
But nothing will make the impact or the win condition of Archmage Antonidas.
so I should just wait for dust and craft him, right?
There are way to few spells to activate him to make him matter.
