Intro:
I'm dpsimi I've been playing aggro warrior since first getting Legend with it in season 4. You can seem my other lists. I've always play aggro Warrior until rank 5, but I've usually switched to reach Legend. Finally, Blizzard sent some cards our way so let's do this.
Thoughts on Standard:
What held this deck back previously was the sticky minions like Haunted Creeper and Piloted Shredder. These cards ruined our efficient trades with our weapons. Warriors also lost Death's Bite, which made Dread Corsair Free and served as an activator for Grommash Hellscream.
Thoughts on WotOg Cards:
Blackwater Pirate and Malkorok are too slow for Pirate Warrior.
Bloodsail Cultist has two requirements to activate, but the stats are solid
N'Zoth's First Mate is pretty useless outside of the first 3 turns similar to Cursed Blade so we'll only run 1.
Bloodhoof Brave is FANTASTIC. Usually will regain board control or get enough of a footing to get in some damage before our end game burst. Also serves as an activator for Battle Rage.
Ravaging Ghoul - is a Very versatile card. Solid 3/3 for 3. Activates Execute, Battle Rage, and clears a board of 1/1s.
Mulligan:
Sir Finley Mrrgglton, N'Zoth's First Mate, Alexstrasza's Champion, Fiery War Axe, Faerie Dragon.
Heroic Strike- if you don't have any of the cards above.
Azure Drake - if you have Alexstrasza's Champion
Gameplan:
Fight for board control through the early game. Hit their face once you have board. Frothing Berserker, Bloodhoof Brave, Kor'kron Elite should get in some damage, and finished them off with Arcanite Reaper and Mortal Strike. You should be winning around turn 8.
Tip: Count your damage. Set up for lethal 3-4 turns in advance. Know what your opponent can do and prepare for it. Plan ahead and don't waste your spells. Know your limits, your options, and your potential draws.
Cards to Consider:
Abusive Sergeant is powerful with our chargers
Blood To Ichor vs Mid-Range
Slam vs Control
Argent Horserider is a solid 3 drop makes the deck more aggressive
Dread Corsair for a tempo swing
Spellbreaker for Silence
Captain Greenskin for Upgrade! plus body
Cards to Replace:
Upgrade! requires a weapon.
x1 Mortal Strike is very weak draw early
Sir Finley Mrrgglton Picks:
Tier 1: Mage, Warlock, Hunter - each can be better than the other based on situation
Tier 2: Druid, Priest
Tier 3: Rogue, Shaman, Paladin
If you don't have Sir Finley Mrrgglton replace with Blood To Ichor
I won't answer anything that is in the writeup
Trying out -Amani Berserker -Arathi Weaponsmith +N'Zoth's First Mate +Captain Greenskin. Currently Rank 2 after going 22-5 (81%) from 6 to 2.
C'Thun Druid 1-0 Mid Shaman 2-1
Tempo Mage 2-2 Zoo Warlock 2-0
N'Zoth Pally 0-1 Patron Warrior 5-0
Dragon Priest 1-0 Control Warrior 4-1
Miracle Rogue 4-0 Mid Warrior 1-0
No, that's matchup is heavily in our favor. I faced the creator of the deck twice and beat him. But he was at number 1 Legend so there might be something to it.
Should I add Grommash Hellscream ?
And if yes, who should I take out for him?
No, there are literally no activators for Grommash. I'm not a budget player.
Yo yo, dudes. I made a video about this deck. The traditional deck is continued, but I like that it's a bit more board control oriented than pointless SMORC-ing. The new cards are definitely doing a nice job and Bloodhoof Brave can work quite nicely, cause it has 6 health. Check out my video and leave a comment or two.
Pointless, short and unedited video, pretty poor, are you even trying?
The point of the video is showcasing the deck, some people may see how it works against certain decks and maybe learn something from it. I don't know how it's short, when 95% of the videos you will find by any content creator are usually not longer, it features games where you can see it's weaknesses and strengths. About the editing, what is there to edit in such a video, when everything that you need is there. Are you even trying ?
"The point of the video is showcasing the deck." -Nothing was really shown.
"See how it works against certain decks and maybe learn something" -You only played 2 games against the easiest match-ups.
"About the editing, what is there to edit in such a video" -The 50% of the footage where you're just waiting and thinking out loud?
Nothing that you need is there, the video is just poor, instead of arguing with me like a little baby why not try to learn something and improve like any sane grown up would do?
Any sane grow up would actually show proper arguments and not reply by adding anything significant to the conversation. I played 2 games, but in these 2 games. And how are those the easier match ups, even in the guide you can read what decks this deck has problems against. Yeah, of course, a control warrior is a pain in the ass, but control warriors are a pain in the ass against any deck. The second game was a druid, and guess what, druids have a shit ton of board clears and taunts. I think that aggro shamans are easy, but they can easily gain the tempo of the game, because it can be hard to deal with feral spirits, or 4 health minions such as totem golem. About the editing, what do you want ? It's a showcasing video, you play a deck and you talk about it, do you want me to add sparkly effects to it ? Of course, I am trying to improve, but when people don't give you constructive criticism and just blabber about whatever they want, it doesn't really work out.
You really need to mature past the stage where you feel personally attacked and insulted because someone doesn't like your work.
Apparently putting my thoughts in a couple of words is seen as just shit talking so I'll try to explain a little further, this video is pointless because it leaves a lot of unanswered questions, you also didn't write a script for this video, so you're talking of the top of your head. When I say unedited I am complaining about you spending half the video waiting or thinking out loud, I couldn't care less about fancy effects. "Short", this video is too short to properly showcase the deck, when I am interested in a deck I want to see it in action, two games just don't cut it.
This is my last comment on this issue, take it or leave it, I said everything I had to say.
Atleast you didn't shitpost, I'll give you that. I don't know why you are telling me that I'm getting offended, when you are the one telling me to grow up or whatever, which doesn't have to do with anything that I wrote. If you have any questions you can always ask, "Why did I make that play", "Why did I not play it that way", How would you play in this situation", I've never had problems with people not understanding something, or atleast not asking a question. Of course, there is going to be time where I am waiting, when my opponent is forcefully ending his turns at the end of the rope. Imagine me editing every single turn, by skipping the rope, it would turn into an edit fiesta and it would be way more annoying for the viewer. About the length of the video, it's a personal preference, you do have a point that it can be longer, but not everyone has the time or prefers watching a 25-30 minute video.
Dude honestly, I can understand your points, but you shouldn't be so rude. This guy just showcased your Deck to many other people, even though you might not like the video, it has a certain reach.
Pretty good deck. I played Alexstrasza's Champion's deck before of the update. And took a legend by this, but now with new cards this deck is wonderful. For good play you just need some practice, I make by this deck more then 200 wins. And this deck was bad against druids with their combo in past and tempo-mages. But, when druids with their combo is gone you have some troubles only with mages.
I'm glad I didn't give up on this deck after my initial bad impression, I admit I was wrong and too quick to judge a deck I wasn't familiar with.
After growing into the deck a little bit it seems to really suit my play style, I probably still misplay it but so far it seems to be holding up well and it's enjoyable to play. (Hopefully someone will make a good video about this deck so I can compare the playstyles)
Thank you and up-voted!
I really liked the idea of this deck, but no. I just can't believe you were able to hit legend with this, I went 0-6 at rank 10. Not such a problem, I'll just get back with my N'zoth Hunter, but I would still like to get my golden warrior, any tips ? There are a lot of control priests in EU's rank 10 and I'm just unable to get through them with this deck.
edit: Ok, I just played this deck incorectly and traded too often instead of going to face, my bad. I've been doing much better now. I guess I was also a bit unlucky most of the games. Kudos to you:)
Play around their cards. Don't over extend into Circle Combo or Holy Nova. Don't play Bloodhoof Brave past turn 6 unless you can enrage him. Just apply continuous pressure. I don't think I've ever lost to a Priest, so I don't know any tips beyond the normal ones.
edit: Ohh they can't deal with 4 damage minions so if you can get Frothing to a 4/4 they can't do anything about it.
Would Justicar Trueheart work in this deck?
Ummm... what they ^ said
Okay... No need to be rude about it, was legitimately an honest question.
Cool,
I don't like the Bloodhoof Brave, but Alexstrasza's Champion is unbelievable, it works! even only four dragons in your deck.
But if you do nothing in turn 2.....
Bloodhoof Brave is there for Zoo and Aggro. Protects our damage dealers and does decent damage himself.
