EDIT: I will start to track stats with this deck to prove my succes and figure out good and bad match ups.
So i have made it my mission to recreate the spawn of satan in standard. You might say, face rogue? Well that was never a success was it? Hell yes it was. Carried me to rank 5 on several occasions. Anyway, let's get on with it.
Disclaimer: This does not carry the same amount of burst as the old aggro rogue did. With tinker's and blade flurry gone and nerfed, this is more of a minions game. That's one of the reasons i added sinister strike, to compensate for the lack of burst. It is still quite effective though, especially in a new meta like this where everything goes just a little bit slower and where deathlord, healbot and sludge belcher is gone.
General strategy:
How to tempo: Swarm the board before they can use AOE.
When closing in on the enemies aoe turn, slow down and don't overextend. Preferrably you want to test for AOE on the typical turn and have atleast 2-3 minions ready to put on the board.
Board control! Sounds crazy doesn't it? Well, unfortunately we will have to take care of guys threatening our guys. This means using dagger combined with deadly poison, buccaneer, and si:7 agent to clear the smaller yet troublesome minions. We usually don't care about the bigger guys. FACE!! Pit snake! Use the pit snake on turns like turn 3 leading into his turn 4. He will feel forced to ping your pit snake, and if he can't ping it's a gigantic favorable trade for you. Your enemy looses tremendous tempo having to spend 2 mana to clear your 2/1. Watch out as you climb the rank's though, smart players will bate the pit snake with with worse minions. Now that's pretty good for you still, but i recommend keeping it alive as much as you can against non ping classes.Update! Currently testing Bilefin Tidehunter instead of Pit Snake with huge succes!
Favorable trading! This is obvious for most, but use favorable trading to keep as much damage on the board. Coined Defias Ringleader? That's great, man. Stupid paladin spawns a guy. Kill the guy with your 2/2 defias to save your 2/1 scrub. More damage for face later.
The element of surprise! Try to save sinister strike and eviscerate for the finishing blow, it will go past taunts and when played at one time the enemy probably wont see it coming.
Same with coldlight oracle. This is good for finding lethal, or for pushing for lethal. Use it as a last resort to avoid giving your opponent potential answers to your board. Sometimes you will just have to play it though, with a clean board and an empty hand, go for it.
Dagger ground rules! Early game, go face with dagger if you don't have buccaneer on board or deadly poison in hand. When pushing damage in the mid game, go face with your first charge but keep the last one till you can find use in it. As said earlier you will have to deal with enemy minions and taunts and your dagger is your best permanent solution to that problem.
Patience! This isn't always right, but when the enemy is low and he is a ping class (sometimes even keep it anyway) try not to play your charge minion out if it accomplishes very little. You could try and wait for cold blood. This is more risky in standard version of face rogue as there is no oil and i don't use abusive sergeant in this deck (i'm thinking about it.), therefore there's less buffs to put on the charge minion. I would say you generally play your minion unless you are low on cards and the last cards are burn damage.
Please leave an upvote if this has won you games, thank you.
Comment about any questions or suggestions you might have.
Win 75% . I call bullshit.
Tried this out for a daily and won 6 out of 6 casual games (two warriors, two rogues, two mages) before turn 8. Haven't tried in rank.
I was wondering if Leeroy Jenkins has a place in the deck. Also what about Shadowstep instead of Sinister Strike ?
Yeah try putting it in instead of a bilefin :) Shadowstep is a bad idea since you dont have concistent way to draw both leeroy and shadowstep, and shadowstep with the other cards seem questionable except for si:7 and wolfrider.
The deck needs a better finisher. Can't seem to do enough damage to keep it from going late game. Coldlight helps out the opponent more than it does you. Suggest replacing it, maybe with Abusive Sergeant or Knife Juggler. Maybe a Sprint to try to reload if it gets to late game.
I won 4/10 matches. Worked amazingly for the matches I did win. Out of the 6 I lost 4 of those matches were against druids. Bad luck perhaps. But this build is useless against a druid. A single swipe card can clear your whole table given all the 1 HP cards. I like the build overall... Hearthstone really likes to F@#% with me though.
If you see druid, you can pretty much concede. Deffinately the acheles heel of this deck.
I'm also sorry that i can't really take responsibility for this decks effectiveness anymore, i play control decks almost exclusively now and i wont be updating this anymore. I don't claim it to be the best aggro deck in any way, but it's effective for the dust cost.
That's too bad. I like the deck, just wanted to give feedback to see if you could help make it better. I'm a total noob at Hearthstone so I haven't been able to make any good decks at all because I have no dust and not willing to spend money on the game. I had most of what this deck required and use my little bit of dust to make a few of the cards I was missing lol.
All that being said, I've had a little more luck with putting a Sprint card in there. With all the low cost cards sprint really helps keep you in the game if you're falling behind by turn 7.
Needs Fan of Knives to take care of pesky murloc decks. I'd take out either Bladed Cultist or Wolfrider
I disagree. Murloc decks are not popular right now, and even if they were i wouldnt include an aoe in a face deck, not one as ineffecient as fan of knives.
exactly what i was looking for, easy to play, fast deck for dailys, as I don't care so much for rogue (because many key cards missing, i guess :D)
have my upvote! :-)
This is a fun deck! I'm 8-2 with it so far (from casual to rank 19). However since I don't have Coldlights I replaced them with Thistle Teas - which have proven very interesting. They won me a couple of matches, once by pulling 3 Saps and once by pulling 3 Cold Bloods, which provided the decisive edge. Part of me wishes I could Prep them but it's not so bad as they're not early game plays anyway.
What do you do against big taunts? That seems to be the Achilles heel of the deck. One of my losses was to Druid who got out a turn 3 Dark Arakkoa that I never recovered from. Also find myself wishing I had a couple of Backstabs for use in the first couple of rounds.
The mayor bad matchup youll have will be against druid, because of taunts. You should use eviscerate to clear taunts if you don't have lethal on board, because if you use sap instead it will just get replayed. So, use sap for the last taunts you need to remove only, hope it helps :)
Nice looking deck! Giving it a go now for my dailies, I love aggro decks so keen to see how this goes!
Edit: this deck has surprising reach! Managed to win against a control warrior on turn 10 which was great. Managed to win against a sort of freeze mage as well which was satisfying. At around rank 17 at the moment. Ending up going 5 wins 2 losses which I'm pretty happy with!
Basically, loot hoarders are good because they do more damage and allow you to trade, for now, at the lower ranks novice engineers work fine. But i recommend to craft loot hoarders, they are used in a lot of aggro decks :)
I faced a Warlock 1st game on this and he brought out double the minions that i did and better ones at that...
This deck is terrible compared to other face decks, but i guess its good for budget players missing better cards to make a better face rogue.
Zoo is control :) And yeah this is not supposed to bring you to legend, it's just something nice for people with dailies and other stuff, there are way more successful decks than this one but it wrecks people in lower ranks and most importantly the games don't last long.
It loses even in rank 20-16 where i tested it.
Don't like it? Play something else.
I am... but i also reply on decks I try with my results. if you don't like my opinion, just ignore it.
