Hey guys, this is my first deck on hearthpwn so let's get started.
A little bit about this deck:
This is a control oriented deck that utilizes c'thun for lots of combos with Ancient Shieldbearer and Twin Emperor Vek'lor. C'Thun is in here as a win condition or a board clear, depending on the current situation. The goal is ultimately to out last your opponent with well-stated, on curve minions (All the C'thun modifiers) and efficient removal such as Brawl
Some tips from my experience:
- Try to mulligan for early game, C'thun modifiers. I have tried otherwise and I'm often left with my Ancient Shieldbearer and Twin Emperor Vek'lor being dead cards in my hand until I draw more synergy.
- There aren't too many Execute activators in this deck. If you know that you're opponent is about to play C'thun or something big, don't waste your Execute... This applies to basically any deck but I'm still throwing it out there
Updates: There will be a lot of these since I just made the deck. Expect this to change ALOT
Update 4/27 - Replaced 2 defender of Argus's with another Shield Block and an Armorsmith
Update 4/27 (Again) - Took out Elise Starseeker, Coldlight Oracle and Refreshment Vendor because they seemed like dead cards for me. I added in a lot more c'thun buffing cards and an extra bash.
Update 5/1 - Welcome to the new season! I've been running into a lot more zoo and aggro recently and and I'm finding it hard to counter the early game of other decks. I also noticed that this deck is getting way to spell based and not enough tempo based so todays updates are -2 Bash -1 Ragnaros the Firelord +2 Ravaging Ghoul and +1 Sylvanas Windrunner
Update 5/2 - Noticing a lot of zoo / aggro shaman. +1 Armorsmith +1Cult Apothecary and -1 Slam -1 Twilight Elder to counter aggro and zoo
Update 5/2 - +1 Refreshment Vendor -1 Cult Apothecary. Refreshment vendor is better and more consistent than Cult Apothecary.
Update 5/5- +1 Doomcaller -1 Crazed Worshipper I know this may not be the best move against aggro/zoo decks but I'm noticing a good amount of consistency in doomcaller.
Random Notes:
- Currently 4-0 with this deck in the new season, the new version seems to work a lot better than before!
- I'm experimenting with Shifter Zerus right now just to see how it turns out or at least to get a highlight reel :)
- Hilariously enough, Shifter Zerus is actually working really well! Idk if this is just a good rng streak or not but I'm going to have to test it out a little bit more before keeping it in my deck
If I reach 15 upvotes I'll make a more extensive guide and a mulligan guide if this deck somehow becomes even more popular, thanks!
2 Shield Block and 2 ancient Shieldbearer but only 1 shield slam?
this deck in theory seems to be really effective against aggro .. but how it fares against control ?
because i have just enough dust to make this deck .. and as a F2P player i really wanna know if it's really good or not before i throw away my dust ... thanks in advance :)
I'll be completely honest with you, you are not going to see a lot of wins against regular Control Warrior. This deck is great against more aggro decks and a variety of C'thun decks, but you will probably lose against Control Warrior a lot. I'm not sure about other control decks
i'm not worried about control warrior since it's a rare matchup ... but any deck that can destroy aggro decks should be the go for in this meta ... thanks alot mate :D
Hi Noutella, This is a really hard decision. If you have revenge, you can craft Gorehowl and replace a brawl with a revenge. Otherwise, I think another brawl is slightly better than Gorehowl despite the value you can get from Gorehowl.
