Recent replacement:
- Acolyte of Pain, + Harrison Jones. Explanation: Acolyte is a strong anti agro card but in control matches seems to shine less. Meta seems to include allot of weapons, so Harison should be a better replacement.
Justicar Trueheart for The Black Knight Explanation: This card has enough survival cards, Justicar is a tech choice against aggressive decks, but if you're facing fewer aggressive decks than control/midtange, then TBK is a better tech choice, and I decided to make this change to the deck because I think it's better against the current meta.
Possible replacements:
Malkorok for Sylvanas Windrunner Explanation: I personally prefer Malkorok over sylvanas in this deck, because the weapon he gives can provide as excellent board control card on the turn he is played or burst damage if your opponent has little life. Sylvanas is an absolutely viable replacement, although I think she fits the deck a bit less well, but she's a very good replacement if you prefer her!
Justicar Trueheart for The Black Knight or Sylvanas Windrunner Explanation: Justicar is a better tech choice if you're facing against fast decks more than against slower decks, but if otherwise, then the TBK or Sylvanas would be a better choice.
If any of you want to try this deck's fatigue variation, press here.
Thank you everyone for your support! I'm glad this deck helped you climb the ladder during these uncertain times and I hope you all have fun with it!
Can you think of a replacement for gnomish hellscream? I'm a couple hundred dust short of crafting it.
Worst deck ever
replacement on twin emperor and malkorak?
Twin Emperor doesn't really have a replacement- IMO he's the main reason C'Thun decks are so powerful in the first place, more so than any of the 10 attack class cards or even C'Thun himself. You can sub in pretty much any of the usual good lategame minions for control decks, since there's nothing worth running that fills the same role. If you play C'Thun decks with any regularity, your absolute top priority should be crafting Twin Emperor ASAP - he's one of the best cards in the game and this deck benefits more from him than most (since you really really want efficient ways to avoid taking damage, and 8/12 stats worth of taunt for 7 is absolutely ridiculous - but not as ridiculous as the 12/18 stats worth of taunt if you manage to pull off the dream and play him with Brann on the board! All aboard the win train, next stop: value town!)
Malkorak is a weird tech choice that is specific to this list, most C'Thun Warrior lists don't run him and I don't think he's nearly as good as Sylvanas. I would sub in Sylvanas and probably try and make room for a second Brawl since that combo is absolutely devastating in control v control matchups.
Literally worst C'Thun deck lol, unstable, you can't even get to have 10 atk on him, so cards are useless. Don't understand the upvotes on this one. Btw my first negative comment on hearthpwn. I never wanted to, but this deck really sucks.
I think you missunderstood the deck, c'thun is not your only win condition, this is control warrior, not a c'thun warrior, and imo c'thun is only there to get the extra armor when necessary, and get the strong taunts of twin emperors.
Then what is the correct way to play the Cthun cards? Drop them on board even if they dont provide the benefit? Because in that manner I suppose a non Cthun deck would overpower and outcontrol this one. Especially in situation if you get unlucky and Brann would be at the bottom of your deck. I will wait for answer, then re-try the deck in 10 games and I will gladly reverse my vote if proven wrong the first time ;)
In most of the games you will mulligan for Beckoner of Evil, Fiery War Axe, Disciple of C'Thun , and some other cards that depends on the matchup. So i would say it's fairly easy to get your c'thun to 10 before turn 7. And if you drop them on the board on curve they will do their job, contesting the board.
And brann just provides extra value for Ancient Shieldbearer, Twin Emperor Vek'lor and if you are lucky enough to make brann stay on the board for 1 turn, C'Thun. But Shieldbearer and twin emperors are already strong without brann.
Be patient with your removal cards and keep in mind how much healing you can do in the next couple of turns. Sometimes, with this amount of healing, you can afford to take damage. Also, against some aggressive decks, with enough healing, it's best if you start building the most armor when you're around 12 HP with, because of Revenge.
I do run another Brawl though and Sylvanas Windrunner instead of Malkorok, but I don't have Harrison Jones, and I didn't have a problem with running out of steam.
Just got legend with this deck guys, I ended up going from around rank 3 to legend in 36 games. My final score was 25-11. What an amazing deck!!!! I found that alexstrasa wasn't working so I switched her for ragnaros and never looked back.
Don't have Malkorok. Put The Black Knight in his place.
Replaced Malkorok with Alexstrazsa and it works quite well so far. Thanks for sharing this deck :)
I played shaman with 2 lightning storm and never drew it in 10 games too. Feelsbadman :(
The Black Knight instead Harrison Jones... There are so many good targets.
So how about replacing Malkorok with Sylvanas Windrunner or maybe even Cairne Bloodhoof?
