So the name of the game is OTK; this is accomplished by any combination of the following cards:

Flash Heal, Prophet Velen, Mind Blast, Holy Smite, and Embrace the Shadow.

Sadly we lost the use of other Key Cards that make this deck more viable such as Zombie Chow, Deathlord, Lightbomb, and Light of the Naaru to help with early game and board control. However making use of Embrace the Shadow and other AOE cards will hopefully help us manage somehow.

SOME CARD COMBO'S WITHOUT USING EMPEROR REDUCTION

Prophet Velen + Mind Blast = 10 Damage for 9 Mana

Prophet Velen + Mind Blast + Holy Smite = 14 Damage for 10 Mana

Prophet Velen + Embrace the Shadow + Flash Heal = 10 Damage for 10 Mana

Embrace the Shadow + Flash Heal + Flash Heal = 10 Damage for 4 Mana

Embrace the Shadow + Circle of Healing = 4 Damage Board Clear for 2 Mana

Prophet Velen + Holy Smite + Holy Smite = 8 Damage for 9 mana

Alexstrasza +
Holy Smite = 17 Damage for 10 Mana

*Technically 15 HP reduction alongside 2 damage from Holy Smite*

There are probably others i'm missing but you get the general idea.

MULLIGAN

The starting phase is where this deck really shines. There are quite a few different combinations of cards you can keep to do well early on. Mulligan for early draw power and board presence.

I try to aim for Northshire Cleric, Wild Pyromancer, Acolyte of Pain, Loot Hoarder, and hold on to Power Word: Shield if you get one of the above minions especially with coin.

CARD DISCUSSION

  • Circle of Healing: A very versatile card. Depending on the stage of the match you are in, it can be used to combo with Wild Pyromancer and Acolyte of Pain for card cycling or even with Northshire Cleric to draw cards from damaged minions. There is the board clear combos well with Auchenai SoulpriestEmbrace the Shadow or just simply heal your minions to establish a stronger board.

  • Wild Pyromancer Insane synergy with the rest of your deck. Can be used to draw more cards from acolyte, deal 3 damage to a minion and 1 to the board with Holy Smite, or combo with any other spell to deal massive board damage while buffing it up on turn 2-3.
  • Flash Heal: 5 Damage (10 with Prophet Velen) to clear a big minion with Auchenai Soulpriest, or 5/10 healing on yourself. If you aren't fighting a Warrior / Priest where every bit of damage is crucial, this can be used to cycle cards with Northshire Cleric if you get value healing from it as well.
  • Mind Blast: With both, it's 20 damage with Prophet Velen. Only one has to be reduced to play them in the same turn at 10 mana. No one typically expects an OTK priest, play these only when you have to or for a kill. If against an aggro deck, using this with Wild Pyromancer is perfectly fine.
  • Auchenai Soulpriest: Getting one of these reduced in cost is great, but is typically fine playing it on turn 4 if I don't have a board, as they are decently strong and if they survive one turn they get you value. Using your healing spells to clear minions is perfectly fine, as you don't NEED to otk to win.
  • Prophet Velen: Will either cause your spells to destroy your opponent, clear the entire board, or heal you to full depending on your match. Dropping him on turn 7 against an aggro deck that doesn't have an obvious way to clear can be good, especially if you have a way to heal yourself up, which can be game crushing.
  • Embrace the Shadow: We finally got another enabler for turning our healing into damage. The overall flexibility of this card helps out alot and will definitely at some point in the game or another be of use whether as a trigger for your heal spells and Hero Power or as a trigger for Wild Pyromancer.

 REPLACEABLE

  • Bloodmage Thalnos: Can be added to any spell to give it a little extra strength, in addition to drawing an extra card.  Keep in mind, that Prophet Velen Doubles the spell damage as well, giving extra power to this card. Been thinking about putting in Confessor Paletress / Elise Starseeker as a potential legendary replacement since I love RNG but we will see.

  • Harrison Jones: I really like Harrison, as he can solidify wins against Paladins with Tirion Fordring, Hunters and help with your hardest matchup, Warriors. If you dont' feel like you are facing these decks, playing another Excavated Evil or Azure Drake could work well, depending on the Meta. Drawing into your combo pieces is ideally your key to success.

If you don't have Harrison Jones, I'd primarily suggest replacing him with an additional Azure Drake for the draw / extra spell damage. Single target removal spells (Entomb, Shadow Word: Pain, Shadow Word: Death, Big Game Hunter) aren't the best for this deck in terms of value. Drawing crazy amounts of cards early allow you to deal with the big threats, and is the key win condition to this deck.

  • Alexstrasza:  A key card in beating midrange or control decks, as you likely won't maintain board control long enough to push much damage, Alexstrasza can give you the extra push against Priests, Warriors, Druids and Renolocks. I've seen people use Malygos instead, which is great if you can get him to survive one turn. I have an open mind to potentially include him or maybe a Faceless Manipulator.
