Card choices:
Forbidden Shaping: A lot of people wrote off this card as bad because it doesn't get you as much stats as an average minion of the cost you play it for, but it adds a ton of flexibility to the deck, helping to make up for all the situational cards like nova, death, cabal, allowing you to curve out a lot better. It also helps that it's both an early minion if you need one against aggro, and a lategame threat against control. Generally should be played on turns where your alternative is weak, or when you're floating a lot of mana and can use another minion. Lategame the best cost to use it on is 8.
Shadow Word: Pain: Another card that is very good situationally. With Shaping helping the curve, there's more space to run removal cards like this. Especially good vs Shaman (Totem Golem, Trogg, etc).
Shifting Shade: Performed well as a 1-of, helps give the deck more stuff to do mid and late game without losing too many stats immediately.
Matchups:
The main matchups I've seen a lot of so far:
Face shaman:
9-1 against this so far, I think I can pretty safely say this is a favored matchup. The deck has a lot of early game to deal with their early game, pain helps a lot as well, and you have more taunts than most decks do right now. Death on the 4 mana 7/7 helps a lot as well. Don't be afraid to Shaping for 0 or 1 mana if you really need to.
Midrange shaman:
5-0 so far, also feels like a favored matchup. I've won so far mainly by taking board early, and keeping it with removal. Pain and Death both have several good targets in this matchup. Remember to play around Master of Evo and Fire Elemental if you can.
C'thun Druid:
3-1 so far, not sure but on paper this shouldn't be a favored matchup. Theoretically, druid should be able to keep board early game with ramp and the good midrange minions, and it did do that pretty well. The games I won were mostly through slowly taking back board and running the druid out of cards, but it's hard to tell how the matchup plays out usually because they had wild growth on 2 every game. Consider keeping Death as well, they have a lot of good targets for it.
Mulligans: The general strategy is to find a good curve of minions, especially dragon synergy ones. Keeping Twilight Guardians or Azure Drakes to guarantee those go off is often good, keeping power word shield is good usually, and keeping pain is good against decks with a lot of early game. Not sure what the strategy is for keeping shaping, right now I'm leaning towards only keeping it if you're expecting a slow deck, or already have a good early curve because it isn't really the ideal play on turn 1 or 2.
Any good alternatives for the two Blackwing Corruptors?
Nothing
Removed 1 Forbidden Shaping (great card played at 8 mana, 1 is enough), and Shifting Shade (useless card, real bad value).
Added Chillmaw (great against aggro, and Patron), and Entomb (great against paladin, and other threats you can't deal with using Shadow Word: Pain or Shadow Word: Death.
Went from 17 to 12 with 85% win rate.
Ur replacements may be good for ur rank, but trust me, at higher ranks those replacements are horrible ideas.
Really good deck to play in standard. When you get some dragon synergy going, it's good against any other deck. I'd make one simple change: -1 Forbidden Shaping (1 is really solid though, I like the card) and +1 Entomb, which helps immensely.
Hey hey,
Did you test Deathwing, Dragonlord? I swapped him in for Nefarian but I guess we lose too much value when we are missing all those battlecries? I also put in one Entomb, I was suprised that you don`t run a single copy of it.

I like this deck very much, the fact I have no Forbidden Shaping what I did is :
-1 Shadow Word: Pain +1 Museum Curator
Replace both Forbidden Shaping for +1 swag golden Deathwing. Dragonlord +1 Entomb
I think that Deathwing. Dragonlord is too slow, but he actually won me like 5 games out of 12 ones I played with this deck.
That is just my opinion if you have any better suggestions please reply to me.
I suggest replacing a sw:p for a museum curator since you have enough tools to survive early game and the curator gives you flexibility and more late game.
What's Peoples thought on running Rend Blackhand in this neck? With the crazy amount of Legends being ran now a days.
I run Rend Blackhand in mine, as well as Entomb. I find it allows me to use the other removals more liberally and keep the tempo up.
First deck that gets me past rank 5 this season. Now rank 2 and climbing. Strong deck. I'm running -1 Forbidden Shaping and +1 Entomb, against those pesky N'Zoth and C'Thun decks.
Thanks mate.
How do you beat the T7 Twins, if I may ask?
EDIT: I typed this on T8, on T10 i won the game, nevermind! haha
I play one Entomb and classic Deathwing instead of 1 Twilight Whelp and one Cabal Shadow Priest.
Works well for me so far
I gave this deck a try with only one change:
-1 Forbidden Shaping +1 Entomb Simply because I only own one of this card.
The deck worked really well today, I went from Rank 13 to 9 with only 2 loss (one of them was a total misplay from me).
I didn't face that many druids though, I had a lot of shaman and Mage but it went pretty well.
I don't have Ysera, and I'm not crazy about the RNG-ness of Forbidden Shaping. What about a couple of Drakonids and Deathwing, Dragonlord?
Going to have to try this out and see how it does. Thanks for posting
I like your deck! I am having success with Herald Volazj in it. I swapped out a Cabal Shadowpriest for him and I switch from Nefarian to Chromaggus for slightly more synergy.
The first time I played Forbidden Shaping was on turn 2, and it gave me a Millhouse Manastorm. lol
As I said, Shifting Shade is possibly the most debatable card in this list, but I highly recommand not to remove any Azure Drake, because it is a dragon and you don't run that many dragon in the deck, also it is one of the rare card that allows you to draw, plus it also allows a more powerful Holy Nova and it has a good synergy with Brann Bronzebeard.
If you feel like you really need 2 Entomb, or slots for other tech cards, maybe remove one Forbidden Shaping along the replacement of the Shifting Shade.
Agreed, entomb is a must, its a question of what to replace for the second. I personally run 1 and just be greedy with it. Obviously youre saving it for any old god, golden monkey, sylvanas, tirion, rag etc. With 2 you can be more flexible. But never remove a dragon without replacing it with a second. I looked and looked over the list it's very tough what to remove for entomb. Instead I just run 1 entomb and 1 sylvanas (cut Cabal). It works well IMO
