Hello, some of you might know me for my recent Beast Druid deck - http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/467677-enter-beastmode-saranjivacs-beast-druid-deck
I have been toying around with the deck, playing Violet Teachers, and double Druid of the Fang and had a very nice 14-5 run on rank 4-5, then I decided to check what cards the deck was going to lose and decide how to replace them.
UPDATE: Played the deck today and went 12-2 from rank 4200 to 750 legend! The deck seems very strong in this meta but it needs to be tested further. It seems to outpace the C'thun decks (unless they get perfect curve) and can be faster then face shaman so the winrate so far is amazing (only 14 game sample tho).
EDITS:
Because of the recently announced nerfs to some cards decided to go with:
-2x Ancient of Lore +1x Forbidden Ancient +1x Fandral Staghelm I think the Forbidden Ancient might be great to fill out the curve, and if you draw it late game it makes a big threat which this deck kind of lacks. If we do end up needing more card draw I will probably go for either Azure Drakes or Loot Hoarders or 1 of each. Fandral Staghelm is just an amazing card for this deck with so many choose cards.
-1x Keeper of the Grove +1x Addled Grizzly
+1x Savage Combatant It is back in, as a 1 of for now, since I don't really see it as a true 4 drop.
-1x Forbidden Ancient +1x Mire Keeper
GENERAL GAMEPLAY:
You want to start with early board pressure if possible, don't try to fish for combo-es just play them as they come. In your starting hand you want Innervate, Living Roots, Darnassus aspirant, druid of the saber, even power of the wild if you have no other 2 drops. You want to keep 3 drops if you have innervate in hand (except Addled Grizzly) which is more of a combo card then a 3 drop. Don't try to keep Fandral staghelm even with innervate it is often not worth it. Only time you might consider it is if you have coin+innervate, then you can keep one of your 4 drops and just play from the topdeck as you gain insane tempo and almost all your cards synergise with your 4 drops.
If you don't have any good trades on board and they played a big taunt you can't deal with, just don't attack with anything and hope for a savage roar, it is your best chance since trading in your entire board into their taunters will leave you top decking and this deck does not have much card draw and is all about synergy and finishing the game between turn 5 and 8 usually.
I hope that helps.
No longer just a theorycrafted deck now it is a real deck and seems very good in this fresh meta!
Any feedback is much appreciated, so be sure to post your ideas in the comment section below!
P.S. Also to note is that this deck is cheap to craft! (Final price will depend on the final version)
It was in, got replaced for Fandral Staghelm, but I will test it out for sure. I changed it back to 1x Forbidden Ancient, 1x Savage Combatant.
Basically all the one of's in this deck atm are up for testing and depending on how good they turn up to be some will be cut and some will be played in pairs.
Forbidden Ancient ? I don't know why , but I can't understand why you chose this card to be included ...
It looks like a very flexible card you can drop when you have free mana and can also be a late game threat which this deck lacks, but this is by no means the final version, only the first one I will test ;)
With some fine tunning and a lot of testing it just might do that, time will tell :D
Very nice idea! Tho I feel that ramping from 5 to 6 in this deck isn't as important as ramping from 3 to 4 mana and I would like at least one silence, but I will probably give Mire Keeper a shot once standard is out.
It is a monster card for any ramp decks, you can ramp if you draw it early and play token if you draw it late, but not quite sure it will find a fit in this deck, since I am basing it around early game tokens into big savage roar finishes. Maybe if a more control-ish beast druid emerges.
What about -1 Grizzly -1 Combatant and +2 Teachers. I played them a little bit with my old beast druid and it seemed to work out fine.
Hey, I'm loving your deck, but wouldn't it be better to use spellbreaker instead of keeper of the grove? I understand keeper of the grove has more options but 2/2 body seems way too weak when you can have silence + 4/3 for the same cost.
Yes but keeper can also do 2 damage, so it is more versatile, tho I am thinking about maybe using an owl because it is a beast.
With the Violet Teacher and other token cards, would a single copy of Wisps of the Old Gods make sense as a finisher/presence card or is it to slow?
I think it will be to slow, but the idea has popped into my mind, I will probably end up testing it at some point as a one of card. I especially like the flexibility of the card, so you can either use it as a very expensive finisher or to flood the board and buff them with power of the wild for some great board presence as you pointed out.
Where can I see the so far announced nerfs?
Main page of hearthpwn, or click here.
I have considered using them tho not instead of a violet teacher which will be crucial to this deck, but the card isn't exactly a card draw (you don't thin out your deck) its just a bad body for a possibility of a decent extra card.
I liked them very much in different sorts of druid, including my old beast druid, and the synergy with violet teachers is a nice one, getting an innervate off it can make it even more amazing, so I am sure I will try them in the initial draft of the deck but might change them for something else later, its not excluded.
Hey man. I gotta say i wasn't sure about your last beast deck you made. I don't know it just didn't look like it would work. But it just does. So many great synergies and card draw and burst. Its a really fun deck to play. I gotta say im definitely gonna try this deck out and some of your others down the road. Keep up the good work!
Tnx for the kind words, means a lot to me!
