Hi, in my quest to create something fun, new and competitive I've ended up with a Dragon/Battlecry Shaman. It's simple, fun and tends to really surprise your opponents. Enjoy :D
The strength of the deck is that by simply playing minions you can affect the board. Flame Juggler, Blackwing Corruptor and Fire Elemental are the main triggers, but Rumbling Elemental makes it so nearly every minion you play does immediate damage.
Curving from Rumbling Elemental into Blackwing Corruptor then into Fire Elemental is where the real magic happens!
Revision#1 [-1 Drakonid Crusher, +1 Ancestral Knowledge] - Meant to facilitate synergy with Chromaggus and help find answers to threats.
Revision#2 [-1 Drakonid Crusher, +1 Chillmaw] - She's simply more versatile, can be silence bait or much needed AoE.
Giving Secret Paladin a hard time - Respect the Rumbling Elemental or be punished!
Bursting down Anyfin Paladin with 'the dream' 43 damage Bloodlust
Crushing Kadgar's Dreams - Chromaggus into 2x-Bloodlust
Why did you choose bad dragons like onyxia and chromaggus? Onxyia I guess kind of works with the one bloodlust but I don't see any point of Chromaggus in this deck.
The deck severely lacks late game card draw, so Chromaggus and Ysera help to refill your hand.
Regarding Onyxia, I think it's underrated (Kibler does too btw) but the primary reason is as you say, to fill the board for an obscene Bloodlust next turn. It works even better because you are already flooding the board with your Battlecry minions and hero power Totems effectively baiting out AOE removal.
I see your point that the deck lacks late game draw power, but how much does chromaggus really help? He's just so slow and you have no cheap card draw to easily get value out of his effect. Personally, I think Nefarian is better suited to refill your hand in a non-priest dragon deck.
You may be right, but I'd easily prefer a chance at drawing cards that synergize with the rest of my deck as opposed to a couple random spells. You've got me thinking though, +1 Ancestral Knowledge -1 Drakonid Crusher might be ok.
I really like the deck, and I'd test it now if I weren't focused on leveling right now, but I'll definitely try it more in Standard and next season.
Not asking for replacements, but have you tested anything else in place of either Drakonid Crusher or Flame Juggler? I've used them in Constructed before and neither was particularly impressive. How effective are they in practice?
I was thinking perhaps Jeweled Scarab in place of Juggler or possibly one Volcanic Drake in place of one Crusher.
My thinking behind using Flame Juggler and Drakonid Crusher is that I want to be as efficient as possible with my mana, establishing large bodies that combo well with Sunfury Protector and take advantage of Rumbling Elemental's passive effect. (Efficiency is even more important right now because of cards like Mad Scientist and Mysterious Challenger that can cheat so much mana).
Regarding your suggestions:
- I consider Jeweled Scarab a control card, and it goes for value not efficiency which is directly against what I'm trying to do with the deck.
- Volcanic Drake can be awesome in some situations but severely mediocre in others, and even if you get a decent mana reduction from it the meta is still very aggressive and small minions can trade up into it very easily. (Piloted Shredder completely destroys this card)
If you do try them out though, I'd be interested to see how they perform :D
Replace Onyxia by Alexstrasza and will test it ! Thx for this deck
No worries :D
To be honest though, Onyxia+Bloodlust is a really good finisher and has won me quite a few games.
You right ! so ... I decide to replace Onyxia by Al'Akir xD
