Hello guys, I'm BoomX9, 12 times legend player, you might know me from my murloc warlock deck I posted a while ago. This is my new deck - giant paladin.
Let's talk about the card choices:
Equality - One of the most efficient removal cards in the whole game, especially when used with pyromancer or consecration.
Holy Light - As you can probably see the deck is really slow, so you need as much cheap healing as you can fit, also it activates pyromancer's effect, which is a really important in aggro match-ups
Sunfury Protector - Twilight Drake, Mountain Giant, Molten Giant - Perfect minions to taunt up, this card can win you more games than any other card in this deck.
Wild Pyromancer - Clears whole board in combination with Equality. Turns out 4 mana twisting nether is pretty good.
Aldor Peacekeeper - As it rurns out Dr. Boom is in every deck.
Big game hunter - Did i mention Dr. Boom?
Truesilver Champion - 8 damage, 4 Health, can kill 2 minions. Also let's you not fall behind that much.
Consecration - With that many paladins 2 mana AoE is really good, also works great with equality.
Keeper of Uldaman - Helps you remove stuff, sometimes you can buff one of your tokens to trade favorably. Not good enough to play 2.
Twilight Drake - You are not going to play anything before turn 3 anyway, so it's huge.
Antique Healbot - 8 more health.
Sylvanas Windrunner - Just a great value card overall, makes your opponent play inefficiently.
Guardian of Kings - 12 more health, just relax, they're not going to kill you.
Lay on Hands - And 16 more health, at this point you can feel like a heroic adventure boss. Also it makes you draw cards, so it's really good.
Ragnaros, the Firelord - Really big minion, opponent has to kill it, also a good card to finish your opponent.
Alexstrasza - So yeah... if you for some reason are out of healing, here is some more + You can kill your opponent in one turn with alexstrasza and a few big minions.
Mountain Giant - You are playing very slowly, so Mountain Giant is often really cheap.
Molten Giant - Well what can I say? Molten giant has a perfect synergy with alexstrasza, holy light, healbot, guardian of kings and lay on hands. Play it, taunt it, heal yourself... Yeah, it's not bad.I will make a full guide + mulligans if this deck hits 30 upvotes. And here is the guide.
So let's start with a mulligan guide:
Mulligans are pretty simple when it comes to this deck - you want to keep Aldor Peacekeeper, Twilight Drake and Truesilver Champion in every match up, also if you are playing against an aggresive deck you may consider keeping Wild Pyromancer, Holy Light, and in very specific match ups (that being patron warrior for example) you want to have an equality and Wild Pyromancer and/or Consecration in your starting hand.
Gameplan:
You need to remember, that you aren't the aggresor. Your gameplan is very passive. You are almost never the one applying the pressure, so you need to think a few turns ahead.
Some of you may wonder why do you always keep twilight drake - you do it because you dont have anything that you want to play before turn 4, so drake is a really big threat. Also you shouldn't be too greedy with how you use your equality, if you have to use it to trade favorably, just do it, you don't have to wait until you see some huge minions on the other side of the board, because that can lose you the game. Use your healing whenever you get value off of it - you run so much of it. Also some people say that they are losing against freeze mage - i disagree with that - dont try to be aggresive, just play slowly, sometimes even to the fatigue and outheal them, save your equality/cons for antonidas and emperor, as these are the biggest threats in this match up.
With standard coming out in just a few days and the nerf to two certain cards in this decklist. I've made two small changes.
Molten Giants have been switched out for Frost Giants. Since this deck focuses on holding to many of your cards in the early game, I've found myself taking many turns in which I just use my hero power. Frost Giant can easily be played for 6 mana rather early on.
Antique healbot will no longer be playable in the standard format, so I needed another 5 drop that has the ability to heal. Many of the minions in this deck are rather mana cost, and the meta (as it stands right now) is full of low mana aggressive minions which I was I felt justified in putting a tuskar jouster in antique healbots place. Although it heals one less health, it is made up for in its body. AH is only a 3/3 body whereas Tuskar is a decent 5/5. This is a sightly risky inclusion though since there is the possibility that your opponent may draw a card that has a higher mana cost. Most likely, if you are playing against a druid deck, the effect will be less likely to trigger.
I kept our good friend BGH in the decklist since most cards with an attack of 7 or higher won't come out onto the battlefield prior to turn 5. Having a clear for a large attack minion is pretty important in this deck since there are not many other clear spells or minion (aside from wild pyromancer and equality which clears the whole board for 4 mana)
How does this deck actually work? Can't deal with high tempo cards like Piloted Shredder that well. Can't draw and play enough of the big threatening minions to cope with all the removal decks have. Can't maintain a high enough HP level to survive the burst most decks can put out late-ish game.
Giants: I have yet to have a game where I draw all four giants, and several have gone to near fatigue. You can always write the first one off as bait for BGH/Hex. The second often dies because, since this is a slow deck, they have enough minions on the board to reduce it to 2/3 health and then finish with a small spell if not outright remove it. The thid, in the rare times I've ever played it, gets killed trying to desperately control the board since the other guy is perfectly happy to sit at 25+health and face rush me at 12 or so.
Tirion and Twilight Drakes: Silences are all over the place.
pretty good having fun
since the goal is to token up a lot, why not using the justicar?
You are mostly tokening during the early game. not so much in the mid-to-late game. That being said, Frost giant works well. I replaced on LoH for it.
Got wrecked, just weaker than Handlock. You can joke about not playing anything until turn 4, but sometimes that just loses you the game on the spot.
This does not hold true , Even though you have a lot of heals .... this meta have mostly aggro / face decks who reduce your health very quickly . So molten giants are important in this deck ; But Mountain giants are slow and dont see much play (about 15 to 20 % ) . Hence you can replace mountain giants with Frost / sea giants . I usually play 1 clockwork giant if the meta is slow.
No Holy Wrath?
Why dont you try the deck I posted in December
The mentioned deck is an exact replica of the traditional handlock deck , I have experimented with this deck arch type a lot and made my own version of this which does well at all stages against all deck types.
Unfortunately i dont play much / no time to ladder ...I am not legendary so I never got any response . You should try it , Give it 3 games and suite the legendaries to your play style ( Eg : Change Rafaam to Ragnaros and Elise to BGH ). You can also fit in Sylvanas instead of trueheart .
good luck
Not bad deck at ranks 5-legend, but before that it is terrible vs highly aggro decks like zoo or face shaman. Definitely fun but not worth it for quick ladder.
http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/453300-standard-holywalls-new-era-of-paladin A standard version of this Deck 15-4 atm. Thanks for Boomx9 for inspiring me.
No tridon = troll deck.
I'm having so much fun with this deck. It seems that people don't expect this amount of healing, and i simply just outlast them every single time. Thanks for bringing this deck to Hearthpwn!
(Even more awesome with the new wow avatar!)
The deck isn't all that bad, but it does have its flaws. It seriously lacks card draw, which is staple to a Handlock style deck. Check out my full comprehensive deck review here:
Keeper is not a GvG or naxx card.. just fyi
In my opinion its bad deck. At lower ranks beaten by aggro and zoo, at higer by freez or control deck. Let pepole play it, thanks for easy rank up :)

Deck without Boom, wow :D I'll give it try, but I don't have rag, should I use Tyrion, or... Boom?
Tyrion for Rag and Sir Finley for Lay on hands, 3-1 on casual, I can't tell it's awesome deck THERE, but fun to play, thanks
30 upvotes to get a guide, really not necessary on this deck. Nice to see something different, but this deck doesn't cut it.
I haven't seen a mech mage deck in literally months... so wherever you're getting these statistics from cannot be anywhere close to true.
If you used this deck to play one match and faced a mech mage to make your statement, then I could see how you could make this kind of ridiculous statement
