VIDEO EXPLANATION:
GAME PLAN:
We have a Tempo Mage here, so we need to gain as much Tempo as possible while being as aggro as possible, thanks to the extra mileage of the Ice Block for its main effect (of having us not die once) and the collateral effect: the mistakes that the opponent will make during the game, not really knowing what this secret will be.
You see, when people play an underpar turn, trying to proc our secret, playing crappy minions/spell, they are doing the correct play. But if we have an Ice Block out, they'll waste their turn in vain. All the while we build up Tempo and board presence. Or we shoot them in the face with our burn spell. Or both!
Play for Tempo, remove minions efficiently and let the PEW PEW begin!
CARD CHOICES:
This time around I'll go over only the "unconventional" choices
Really strong opening vs many classes paired with a Mana Wyrm and a Coin. Protects our board from weapons/minions and lets us unleash the sinergy of our deck. Often gaining a single turn could be game winning and don't forget that decks like a ZooLock that is a little behind could have trouble removing them efficiently. Playing Archmage Antonidas followed by this, gives you the first Fireball and could protect our Fireball's Santa from the minions that are trying to kill him.
There it is, the star of the deck. The Playmaker. The MVP. Just thinking the faces of our opponents while they struggle to guess which damn secret hides the little purple dot, makes my smile grow wider every second they spend wondering. Countless times the opponent tries to proc the secret with a crappy minion or an useless spell. You know what makes me happier? When they realize (usually too late for them) that is an Ice Block and they have thrown away their winning condition AND their turns trying to guess. But you know what makes me REALLY happy? When I play another secret and they start the guessing work all over again. Also pretty much guarantess the value of both Mad Scientist having 3 different Secrets in the deck. Yay!
SUBS:
The only substitutions that I could advise are this ones:
1x Mirror Image ► 1x Arcane Blast
if you really feel like you need some spells to board control early in the game.
1x Ice Block ► 1x Duplicate / 1x Effigy
if you don't own one or you simply don't want to run it. They can have a similar effect on the guessing works of your opponents, but they do have a negative synergy with the early game minions and 0/2 images... run them at your own risk.
MULLIGAN STRATEGY:
Try your best to have the smoothest mana curve possible. Try to exploit the Coin with the Flamewaker or Mana Wyrm synergy, or in the worst case with Archmage Antonidas to create an extra Fireball
Always keep Mad Scientist and Mana Wyrm
Vs Shamans, Druids, Mages, Paladins and Warlocks keeping also a Frostbolt to kill the early minions is also advisable.

This is the record of my win rate from rank 4 3 stars to Legend. Yay for a meta full of Druids and Secret Pally to wreck really hard!

I'm not criticizing, more like asking out of curiosity, so please don't take this as disrespect. Piloted Shredder seems like such a random card choice for a spell-centered deck like this. Wouldn't a 1-drop spell or something that generates 1-mana spells work better? Like Clockwork Gnome or Ice Lance or something like that?
Its a tempo deck man the point of tempo is to always play high value cards on curve to always control the board and just out tempoing the opponent and Shredder is still the best 4 drop in the game regardless of any deck you put it in kinda like Dr.Boom

Beard powa! I prefer more Ice Block since mirror image and mana wyrm kinda interferes with the duplicate but if you like it then so be it! :) gl hf
Nice. I agree with Royalmail though. The beard...I mean ice block...works better with Mirror Image than Duplicate. But, if you don't run Mirror Image then it's a great mage secret.
First off, google "Hearthstone deck tracker". Its not that difficult to find the most popular ones. Second, don't use that font. Thirdly, ethereal conjurer is not a replacement for drakes. Drakes provide card draw, and spell damage. If you need to clear a Dr. Boom and you have a fireball+drake, easy clear. The spell damage + card draw is more useful than a random spell in most cases. If you feel the need, replace one drake with a conjurer but not both. BGH and entomb you can not avoid besides with Counterspell for the Entomb. If you could avoid those things, this deck would be broken beyond belief, would it not? If you feel like you are running out of cards, I would re-read the mulligan guide. Also, sometimes bad draw happens. You may get all high drops, and never get an Arcane Intellect. Right now I am 9-1 with this deck, only losing to a control priest. Just keep giving it a go. If you feel like the meta or this deck doesn't suit you, switch it up with another deck and keep trying!
it's best to get the early board control and keep it making tempo plays hence gaining advantage in the game :) and yes @theburlywizard did an amazing job answering your main question! gl hf

Hey RM! How do you feel about -1 Drake for +1 Loath?
you could try it if you want but the draw and the spell damage is too good and you have already Ice Block to counter Freeze mage and Druid :) gl hf
you need a finisher that if left unchecked for too long can win you the game... try Ragnaros, if you don't have it try Ysera (really bad but "should" work)... if not just play loatheb and use it to stop enemy's turns! gl hf
yeah that could work too, you keep the burn spells and you Alex them before nuking them in the orbit ;)
sadly they are one of the main blocks of the deck and they do something that can't be replaced... try maybe a freeze aggro mage? gl hf
