UPDATE on 22 january 2016 : I posted a brand new deck : FIREBAT RENO DRAGON WARRIOR : be sure to vote for it. In the deck description, there is also a video of the gameplay with it at legend rank !
Kibler has always been one of my favorite streamers. I think he is clearly underrated as he is an excellent deckbuilder and an excellent player. Yesterday, he played this "control hunter" on his stream. He started at rank 2 and reached legend 250 in less than 1h. Kibler's named his deck "control" but it's not really a true control deck. The games are fast.
I played the deck yesterday evening at legend rank and got a 3-0. This morning, I done 3-0 too. I post the deck on hearthpwn because I don't find it on the internet and I think he deserves a slot. I really like the 2 Flare maindeck, the 2 Bear Trap and the Dreadscale. From rank 2 to legend, Kibler played 2 Stampeding Kodo maindeck, then he made this modification :
+ 1 Loatheb
+ 2 Webspinner
- 1 Bear Trap
- 2 Stampeding Kodo
Here is a video of me playing the deck a fews days (btw, if you like my hearthstone channel, don't hesitate to subscribe here) : https://www.youtube.com/c/xatanaelgaming
Hunter's Mark : Allows you to kill annoying big taunts. Works perfectly with Dreadscale.
Bear Trap : Is a very good card to support the beast synergy and to get an early taunt that works well against paladin and face shaman. Can be buffed the next turn it comes on the board with Houndmaster to make a 5/5.
Flare : Without this card, you absolutely need to draw the combo "Knife Juggler + Unleash the Hounds" to beat secret paladin with ease. With Flare, you can easily manage the turn 6 (the most important turn for paladin secret), destroying all his secrets. A single 6/6 on the board is easy to handle. Our 6/6 - highmane - are better than theirs! Cherry on the cake, flare allows you have a better matchup versus face hunter and a nearly unlosable matchup versus freeze mage.
Unleash the Hounds : Still so efficient versus paladin, with or without Knife Juggler.
Dreadscale : An early Muster for Battle? No problem, Dreadscale is our friend! Kill them in one shot, it doesn't trigger his/her avenge ;-) Like I said, works fine in synergy with Hunter's Mark. If you don't have it, replace it by an Explosive Trap.
Houndmaster : Works for offense or defense, a little bit like the Druid of the Claw.
Ram Wrangler : I personaly don't like it so much and I replaced it by a Freezing Trap.
Loatheb : Your n°1 weapon against Freeze Mage (with Flare), Tempo Mage, Oil Rogue and Miracle Rogue.
Mulligan :
Always keep Webspinner, Knife Juggler, Haunted Creeper, Mad Scientist, Animal Companion.
Safe minions to play on turn 1 are Webspinner or Mad Scientist/Haunted Creeper if you have the coin. Like druid, you have to play on curve. It means that if you play something like a Mad Scientist on T1, you need to have something to play on T2 and T3.
You can easily play Knife Juggler with the coin on the first turn versus the following classes : Priest, Hunter, Shaman, Druid. In case of druid, he sometimes have to make a tough choice : kill your juggler with Wrath, or play his Wild Growth. Don't play it directly versus paladin, as he will too often get a Shielded Minibot to counter him. Versus Warrior or Mage, prefer a safe minion first, like a Mad Scientist or an Haunted Creeper.
This deck has no business being as good as it is, climbing fast.
Thanks for uploading his deck up on Hearthstone, it is really greatly appreciated. Hunter seems to be a fairly weak class in the current meta but there are always those trying to bring it back to life, and I think this is a good attempt because it has a lot of counters to many of the meta classes we currently face. The only downside I see is that the meta changes depending on time sometimes and depending on the class you play, so sometimes I find the double flare a little bit useless because you sometimes end up playing a warrior or druid and have them as just a card draw but as a waste of two mana. I would rather keep one flare and add a kill command to this deck because it adds removal and extra burst which is always needed as a hunter. But anyways, I think one should always keep in mind that the meta in legend games is sometimes much more different than that of ladder. But anyways, thanks for uploading it, I have a video that you are free to use if you'd like. I hope you all have a great day and night, and stay hunting!
We, freeze mage/control war players, are very glad to see so creative and nice ppl that are bringing back to life our worst nightmares :D :D
Just kidding, nice video and nice deck mr. Kibler, i loved your decks and plays in magic and it looks like i will like them in HS aswell :)
Any replacements for snake trap and dreadscale?
Ok thanks currently 2-0 at rank 6 hopefully I can get legend for the first time!
Works so well against patron warrior. Fill the board up with Unleash the Hounds and then Dreadscale.
lol does not work for one bit you have no defense and you loose the damage race, wont work on eu ladder
Gonna give it a try! Tks for posting it!
Played this deck a bit yesterday and had some really strong games against warlock and paladin but the problem with this deck vs the hunter that hit top 6 a few days ago is that you don't have enough finishing umph for games against priests or cw. I really love the addition of King's ellek in that list over knife juggler. To me knife juggler is semi useless over king ellek which gives you valuable pulls over 50% of the time from that list. Knife juggler is great for hunter mirror or zoo matches when the board is flooded but usually by the time you get the combo it is possibly too late. King's ellek just offers you great draw potential and as a hunter that is invaluable for the long control games when you enter top decking mode. I am actually considering even throwing in a ram wrangler in the hybrid list as i found that to be a truly fun card to use.
I am trying to make a hybrid between both deck lists as i feel both have merit but both lack something the other needs. One is great vs zoo locks and board flooding decks in general, and the other is really good at dealing with the long games against priests/control warriors. I feel somewhere in between both would make the most optimal play. Just so everyone knows. I didn't just play a couple of games with this I played enough to get a feel for the deck around rank 3 but got constantly stalled around rank 3-3 stars when the control meta hit. I also golden crafted dread scale XD. If i craft a legend it is getting the golden craft regardless of how crappy it ends up being *I am talking about you illidan*. Fortunately I do see value in dread scale and it is a very strong play about 40% of the games i played him which is better than most legends. Thanks for sharing the list and if the hybridized list i am working on works i will share that with you XD.
Thanks again for the list! PS if you are facing a ton of paladins/zoolocks/or board flooding decks this is the deck for you!
Or a Wild Pyromancer?
Maybe. Pretty sweet with Hunter's Mark.
Been running the hunter on the main page with with tech different stuck between rank 3-2 atm was wondering if you swear on all that you are that this deck will allow me to progress on NA easily through the druid/warlock/priest/warrior meta I am getting stuck into
yea i run flare myself but from that other hunter deck that is in the top 6 i teched out 1 haunted creeper for it XD I love flare! I just need to know if you think i can do it haha too bad i can't get you to come help me through the final 3 ranks to legend i could use the motivation XD I gotta craft dread scale still but i have the rest and i could easily do that by d/eing one of my many golden legends but i need assurance of legend ranking :P i would totally up vote and heavily promote this deck if i hit legend with it
Do you know if he faced a lot of renolocks/secret paladins with the list? also is it better to run the stampeding list he rank from rank 2 to legend or better to run this list?
Going to give this a go now hopefully it does well XD
