UPDATE on 22 january 2016 : I posted a brand new deck : FIREBAT RENO DRAGON WARRIOR : be sure to vote for it. In the deck description, there is also a video of the gameplay with it at legend rank !
Kibler has always been one of my favorite streamers. I think he is clearly underrated as he is an excellent deckbuilder and an excellent player. Yesterday, he played this "control hunter" on his stream. He started at rank 2 and reached legend 250 in less than 1h. Kibler's named his deck "control" but it's not really a true control deck. The games are fast.
I played the deck yesterday evening at legend rank and got a 3-0. This morning, I done 3-0 too. I post the deck on hearthpwn because I don't find it on the internet and I think he deserves a slot. I really like the 2 Flare maindeck, the 2 Bear Trap and the Dreadscale. From rank 2 to legend, Kibler played 2 Stampeding Kodo maindeck, then he made this modification :
+ 1 Loatheb
+ 2 Webspinner
- 1 Bear Trap
- 2 Stampeding Kodo
Here is a video of me playing the deck a fews days (btw, if you like my hearthstone channel, don't hesitate to subscribe here) : https://www.youtube.com/c/xatanaelgaming
Hunter's Mark : Allows you to kill annoying big taunts. Works perfectly with Dreadscale.
Bear Trap : Is a very good card to support the beast synergy and to get an early taunt that works well against paladin and face shaman. Can be buffed the next turn it comes on the board with Houndmaster to make a 5/5.
Flare : Without this card, you absolutely need to draw the combo "Knife Juggler + Unleash the Hounds" to beat secret paladin with ease. With Flare, you can easily manage the turn 6 (the most important turn for paladin secret), destroying all his secrets. A single 6/6 on the board is easy to handle. Our 6/6 - highmane - are better than theirs! Cherry on the cake, flare allows you have a better matchup versus face hunter and a nearly unlosable matchup versus freeze mage.
Unleash the Hounds : Still so efficient versus paladin, with or without Knife Juggler.
Dreadscale : An early Muster for Battle? No problem, Dreadscale is our friend! Kill them in one shot, it doesn't trigger his/her avenge ;-) Like I said, works fine in synergy with Hunter's Mark. If you don't have it, replace it by an Explosive Trap.
Houndmaster : Works for offense or defense, a little bit like the Druid of the Claw.
Ram Wrangler : I personaly don't like it so much and I replaced it by a Freezing Trap.
Loatheb : Your n°1 weapon against Freeze Mage (with Flare), Tempo Mage, Oil Rogue and Miracle Rogue.
Mulligan :
Always keep Webspinner, Knife Juggler, Haunted Creeper, Mad Scientist, Animal Companion.
Safe minions to play on turn 1 are Webspinner or Mad Scientist/Haunted Creeper if you have the coin. Like druid, you have to play on curve. It means that if you play something like a Mad Scientist on T1, you need to have something to play on T2 and T3.
You can easily play Knife Juggler with the coin on the first turn versus the following classes : Priest, Hunter, Shaman, Druid. In case of druid, he sometimes have to make a tough choice : kill your juggler with Wrath, or play his Wild Growth. Don't play it directly versus paladin, as he will too often get a Shielded Minibot to counter him. Versus Warrior or Mage, prefer a safe minion first, like a Mad Scientist or an Haunted Creeper.
It got me from 7 to 4 pretty quickly. It absolutely destroys paladin and freeze mage. I also found flare handy against druids because you can pop shades when they are small. It doesn't feel meta shattering but I like midrange hunter and I'm climbing consistently with this.
Played vs Hybrid Hunter with slow start and a Mech Mage without secrets but flamestrike.
lost both.
This deck is by no means a good deck.
Played 8 games now and none of my opponents were playing Pally.
Maybe this deck is only really good at Legend ranks...
But I dont get how this is a total counter to Face/Hybrid Hunter? If he has the perfect draws and perfect curve you cant do shit.
Doesnt matter when you eliminate one of his secrets, hes still pushing face..
Thanks for this deck, it's the anti-hunter hunter deck. Flare absolutely dismantles pally, mage, and face hunter. There are some negative comments and down votes likely because you must know how to run hunter to play this deck. Repeat, this is not face hunter and if you don't know how to pilot this thing you will get rocked.
This deck is soooo bad. No reach at all. If they stabilize, you're dead.
Well having a king crush at turn 5 is laughable
I played secret pala ( yes.. I know) from rank 5 to rank 3, but I met so many secret paladin, tht I got tired of the deck.. I changed to this deck, and have played this deck the whole day. approximately 40 games. How many secret paladin have I met? 2. I repeat, 2! I swear.. if I change to secret paladin again, and only face secret pala.. I'm gonna blame Blizzard. HEARTHSTONE IS RIGGED!
only fair for playing a completely skillfree deck.. there is a reason why all bots play secretpally...
FeelsGoodMan
Thanks Kibler / nat_hs :)
I've just replaced 1x Webspinner with x1 Owl
WOW...... The cancer has became the cure.
as usual build a fucking so called legendary deck and what happens, go on the perfect fucking losing streak. Let me guess this deck only works on low rank where the air is crisp right?
This is definitely a lower rank deck. It seems like it was built to hard counter secret paladin and freeze mage which are super prevalent past rank 7ish. It'll work at higher ranks just not as well well because it loses it's huge advantage against non-secret decks and will struggle against aggro-shaman which is pretty common at higher ranks.
Mid-hunter is also a fairly difficult deck type to play, even a single misplay or not getting full value from a card can lose you the game.
A great deck for the meta so long as you aren't playing vs. face shaman. I've been destroying secret pally and tempo mage (haven't played vs. freeze yet but Flare is a trump card for that deck). Seems great against combo druid if you can put on pressure fast and don't give them any advantage. I love the changes of pace this deck is capable of vs. various builds. I think its versatility makes it a good fit.
It seems like it would be particularly weak to patron warrior just by the deck's mechanics and minion base but that is conjecture. I haven't had an opportunity to queue into patron in quite some time.
This deck is ok, if the board never gets sweeped...
May as well concede if you can't play perfectly on curve and you lose board control.
well, 2V-8L with this deck, 7 against aggro, doesn't work for me
Play Renolock and chill. The meta is filled with ebola shaman. One "We're gonna be rich!" is enough to make them concede...
I've been losing all my matches with this deck, can't do shit against late game and aggro decks wtf this is shit
If you can't out tempo early against aggro decks then don't even have hope
i know you're horrible
I replaced dreadscale with wild pyromancer , good synergy and similar effect. Working well and much cheaper :)
