With the release of League of Explorers I decided to experiment with making a successful Beast-themed Hunter deck, and I have to say I am quite pleased with the results.
After the nerfs to Starving Buzzard Beast Hunter decks disappeared due to constantly having the problem of running out of cards as they enter the late game and having no consistent way of getting on the board, however with TGT and LoE Hunters gained other ways of getting minions without having to draw through their deck for them. I'm talking about Ram Wrangler and Tomb Spider . By themselves they are fairly underwhelming being 3/3's for 4 and 5 mana respectively, however their ability to create minions greatly relieves the issue of lacking reliable card draw.
With the amount of Secret Paladins and Tempo Mages I've ran into on ladder I've found that Flare is invaluable, and on more than one occasion I've outright won a match by playing it right after Mysterious Challenger and It's the perfect counter to problematic Mirror Entity that can destroy any tempo you have.
The most surprising addition to this deck in my opinion has to be Gladiator's Longbow , but I've found it invaluable for assisting in clearing minions that you normally wouldn't dare run your face into like Sylvanas Windrunner or Dr. Boom
Nice deck, do you think Bronzebeard could fit in?
I think running Brann instead of Gladiator's Longbow would work, it would take away a lot of your ability to clear late game minions but the potential for double Elekk jousts can give you insane value along with Ram Wrangler giving you 2 Beasts and Houndmaster giving you +4/+4 and taunt. I'll have to experiment with this and see how it goes.
