Win Rate

Win Rate:

Control warrior is doing great in the current aggressive meta. Best match ups for us are Freeze Mage, Miracle/Maly/Oil Rogue and Reno Lock. Generally the win rate exceeds 80%+ for each of these.

Against Aggro Shaman, Secret/Mid Range Pally and Hunter we tend to have a solid 50-60% win rate. Although it is generally highly dependent on getting our Armorsmith, Slam, Cruel Taskmaster, Bash and weapons early on.

Our worst match up are going to be Druid (mainly ramp) and other more original control warriors, the later of which you don't see often. For druid the only way we can win is if we draw our weapons early or some form of removal (mainly for Darnassus Aspirant), or if they get bad draw. The problem with the original Control Warrior is that they run higher value cards, such as Ragnaros the Firelord and an additional Shieldmaiden. That said, we can still win if we draw Justicar Trueheart before them and always play for the biggest value.

Tech Choices:

Unlike usual Control Warrior we run 2x Bash. This card tends to always get a huge amount of value, whether it be killing that pesky Piloted Shredder or removing an early Knife Juggler. Bash, working throughout the early game in conjunction with Armorsmith, Slam, Cruel Taskmaster alongside your weapons will always outdo a majority of aggro. Just be sure to keep in mind that whilst you are going to dominate more of the early game, you are giving up some of the strong end of a control warriors late game cards.

I have also tossed around the idea of subbing in Loatheb, another Shieldmaiden, Harrison Jones or even The Black Knight. At the moment, with the meta being as aggressive as it is I've opted for 2x Sludge Belcher instead. I couldn't see getting rid of Sylvanas Windrunner either as she is, a lot of the time, a game changer against Druid and Pally. As for Loatheb, we already have a good chance against Freeze and Rogue so the only reason for him would be to stop druid combo. If you are coming up against druid frequently then subbing him in might be an option. If you are coming up against a lot of Aggro Shaman then a Harrison Jones is super good.
