Hey everyone!
Intro:
I am a dutch hearthstone player with over 4500 normal wins and I've reached legend a few times in my life.
I am also creator of the famous ''deathattle'' hunter deck. ( see my other decks )
Druid is one of my favorite classes because of his badass class cards!
I've thought a lot about making the perfect and playable mill druid and this is my end result!
The main purpose of this deck is having some undiscovered fun and awesome plays. When I find the golden monkey, I get such a boost of happiness.
( Tip: Craft a golden Elise Starseeker, just like I did, the golden legendaries are stunning ! +_+ )
If you are doubting about how competitive this deck is, read the spoiler below!
The idea of my deck:
Try to let your opponent overdraw, let him be out of cards and search while you do that for the map or the golden monkey! Try to mulligan always your Elise Starseeker so you can begin to draw a lot of cards. This deck has a lot of removal, use your Emperor Thaurissan to reduce the cost of your removal cards. The poison seeds + starfall is a sweet combo to clear the board when your enemy's board is overpopulated with minions :)
I noticed after playing this deck, that you will find almost always the golden monkey at the end of the game. This is great because a 6/6 with taunt for 4 mana is already very strong but the golden legendaries in your hand is a bling bling overload +_+ Try to clear the board before you use your golden monkey. Also try to play your best cards at the moment before you play the golden monkey so u change your bad cards into legendaries.
Of course you will lose games with this deck, especially when you are playing against rush decks and you have bad luck with your beginning hand. To make this deck work on his best, you will have to practice a lot!
Good luck and don't forget to throw a like!
Floris van Bommel
( I will make a full guide after some likes so making the guide will be worth it )
It also depends a lot about which decks you are playing against.
When you don't have the right beginning hand, it will be very hard to win.
I am currently playing this deck in rank 5 and my win/lose ratio is 57%.
How your game will be against:
Handlock - easy
Control decks - easy
Combo decks - even easier
Secret paladin - hard
Zoo - not hard, not easy
Face hunter- also hard
Flamewaker mage - very hard
( you also need to draw the right cards at the right time )
Fun in theory, trash in practice
Having fun with this. Switched out Bloodmage Thalnos for Sir Finley Mrrgglton, and been selecting Priest or Warrior HP for extra staying power :)
Contrary to popular belief, this deck is STILL viable. I made a dirty priest cry and concede just this morning once I started to mill him. That alone gives this deck a special place in my heart.
Hey Jono, you still using this? If so, how about the guide that you promised?
A big guide isn't needed, but I would like to see at least a mulligan guide based on matchup. I know you wrote above to always mulligan for Elise, but I'm guessing you mulligan differently based on what you're playing against?
I look forward to the video.
Tks m8.
The lack of healing in this deck seems like it's a bigger liability than the value that increased board presence from the additional creatures.
The lack of AE also seems like it's hurting your agro matchup (with things like Explosive Sheep, Unstable Ghoul, and Abomination).
Thank you for the deck! Kept losing with druid until this, now 3-0 - and it inspired me to d/l deck-tracker which I love, so double thanks :-)
Just take Elise out. Late game, you need Reno and your mill cards, not random legendaries.
The deck has seven 2 of a kind - might as well remove Reno from the deck.
Ye, maybe tree of life
You guys think replacing reno with tree of life is valid? I'm playing a version of this deck with tree of life and it is only good if you have complete board control on one turn and have the opportunity to play the tree of life, and you are less than 15hp.
I'm 4-1 with this deck. It's soooo fun! Thank you for this deck!
Well you have to play it till you are milled too so that you can play reno
Deck is fun, but reaally struggle against all aggro. Maybe a mulligan guide would be a great help. Thanks again for innovative deck.
could you play tree of life in that or nah?
Sure you can! I don't know why you wouldn't in a Reno Fatigue Druid. It's a great 1-of.
i have reno thought of playing both...
Hey there! I'm a very big fan of mill decks in general and I've also been experimenting with the golden monkey in druid decks! I've actually took a completely different (and way less consistent) path with my deck, ending up with kind of a miracle druid, but I'm also trying yours out and having quite a fun time! Unfortunately I don't own any Doomsayers and I'm not sure what could be a good replacement for him... Thx for your time
Sheep still clears some aggro boards/treants.
Changed [card]Emperor Thaurissan[/card] for Justicar Trueheart FeelsGoodMan
Rofl. That's terrible.
which ranks if any did you advance with this deck and what are the favorable matchups? (you said agro is unfavorable)
