Welcome to my Starseeking CW Guide.

You were searching for an innovative Control Warrior deck that fits the meta?

Good News, your prayers have been heard! Elise Starseeker is the answer!

Motivation

This deck is a modified version of my Classic CW list, which you can find here:

Click here for Classic CW Guide

With the rise of decks that are either very aggressive or tend to flood the board with minions on curve, I thought it's time to change my Control Warrior to win those battles. The result is a decklist that is very good against aggressive decks, can handle midrange decks and is still able to win control matchups due to Elise Starseeker.

Introduction

So what do we have here? It's basically a Standard Control Warrior type of deck, that utilizes nearly all removal tools that the class is offering. It is very important to know that this is not a pure fatigue deck, we don't support our opponents draw with cards like Coldlight Oracle and we don't just sit there waiting for the game to end. Even if waiting for the Golden Monkey feels like that some times...

Generally the deck can be played like a normal Control Warrior, therefore i would advice you to read my guide about Classic Control Warrior if you are not familiar with that playstyle. The reason why I prefere this list at the moment is the insane power of Elise Starseeker combined with a lot of removal tools to ensure you reach the lategame. When it comes to control battles, the winner is usually determined by the resources your deck can provide. Especially against Entomb-Priest or in a CW mirror, most of the time the game is decided by the last threat that's left unanswered. With Elise Starseeker you don't have the problem to run out of threats, so often you will be the one putting the last big minion on board that your opponent can't deal with.

You asking why Tinkmaster Overspark is in the deck? It's the best counter to C'Thun that's available for Warrior, because after you transform it there won't be any Doomcaller value for your opponent. Also it's good against Tirion Fordring or Savannah Highmane.

Elise Starseeker

In a lot of matchups Elise Starseeker is just played as a 3-5 body and the game will end before you are able to play the Golden Monkey. But even in those matchups Elise Starseeker is not bad at all. Control Warrior was always missing a solid 4 mana drop and Elise Starseeker fits into that role very well. So even when you know that the game won't last long enough for the full potential of Elise Starseeker, it's still good to play her on turn 4 as a solid body.

Golden Monkey

When it comes to the moment you have the Golden Monkey in your hand and you waiting for the right moment to play him there are certain things you should keep in mind. After you played the card you don't have any spells left and your opponent knows that. So try to use high value cards like Justicar Trueheart, Sylvanas Windrunner, Baron Geddon, Gorehowl and Grommash Hellscream before and remove as much as you can. Then you can drop the Golden Monkey. After you replaced your hand and deck with legendary cards you shouldn't think that the game turns into a free win from that point. Try to play the legendaries that have the most value or are hard to remove for your opponent and do favorable trades as you can't rely on your removal spells anymore.

In my experience the game won't last longer than 5-6 turns after you dropped the Golden Monkey. Usually the opponent starts one last attempt to kill you or will just concede to the insane value you have produced with the help of Elise Starseeker.

That's it for now, I hope this guide was helpful and encouraged you to play some Starseeking CW yourself. I would be happy if you give the guide an upvote and leave a comment.
