Sup guys,
first of all thanks for the positive feedback so far. This guide is just going to focus on the tech decisions and explains the general game strategy.
Basically this is a standard Midrange Hunter Deck just with more aggressive techcards. So your game strategy is to control the board early to midgame, until you can outrace your opponent with your Hero Power, the board you build up and direct Damage spells.
This deck does really well against all sorts of Aggro and Midrangedecks, but has a hard time against Controldecks like Renolock or Controlpriest.
Why Leper Gnome?
Leper Gnome can trade with a lot of 2 drops like Dark Peddler or Knife Juggler and when uncontested gives you nice face damage (+the dmg of the death rattle). And with its death rattle, Leper Gnome is also able to deal face dmg through taunts, which might come in handy.
Why 1 Webspinner?
Turn 1 Webspinner isn't even that strong of a play, since its stats are weak. But it works really well as an activator for Kill Command or Houndmaster. And a third 1Drop makes you curve out better.
Why Explosive Trap?
I think its really good against decks that flood the board. Also running 2 copys of it is kinda necessary to make sure that you draw a copy or get one out of Mad Scientist. It also stops the Druidcombo and often wins you the game if you play it before their turn 9. Furthermore people dont expect Explosive Traps in Midrange Hunter, so they often just go for face thinking it isFreezing Trap or Snake Trap.
Mulligans:
They really depent on what class you are facing and have been explained in several other Midrange Hunter Guides.
Gameplay:
Thanks to Khristophesaurus for the Gameplay Video.
_____
Deck works way better on ladder than any of the other midrange hunters currently around. I probably write a more detailed guide if this gets enough upvotes, but mulligan and general strategy is basically the standard of midrange hunter.
War Golem, Kappa
yeah you have a point. thanks.
to slow for me
1-7 in casual mode(!!!)
Then you're probably one of the worst player in Hearthstone... lol
I can see getting rushed down by faster decks (Face Hunter almost always beats Midrange), but if you went 1-7, I don't think you fundamentally understand how Midrange Hunter works.
I was so pissed when i went down to rank 13 from 10 then i decided to try this one. I've tried entomb priest, reno lock, reno pala, face shaman, sigma's rogue even updated my old mecha mage but no luck.
With this deck i went up to rank 7 from 13 in 2 hours O_O Went up to 6 today but down to 7 again atm, still this deck saved my life, thank you. Especially reno paladin deck i play, even tho it went better than others it was giving me cancer with 20 minute matches or even more sometimes. This is overally succesful and fast.
However i think it's pretty accurate to call this a face deck. Previous version needed an upgrade and you made a great one that fits current meta.
Opponents: Warlocks are as easy as training AI matches %90 of the time, if they didn't draw Reno yet they're done in 6-7 turns. Dragon Priest looks tough when you think about it but they can be beaten, can't say the same for Entomb Priest. You can just concede when you face an Entomb Priest unless he is VERY unlucky with draws or you draw just the perfect cards at perfect time. Face Shamans are hard. Pray that they don't draw taunts and you may be fine. But unless they have bad draw, they can burst your brains out easily. Make 1 wrong move and Secret Paladins won't forgive that, if you don't it's still 50/50 imo. Against Mages usually the smarter one wins. Combo Druids, they always play same cards in same order for first 5 turns, they usually need a very good draw to beat you after turn 5. Warriors, i don't know where are they, faced only 2 in last 80 games. Hunters, better draw wins. Everyone pretty much uses same deck with few changes :p I'm on 50/50.
Changes: Instead of 2nd Savannah i tried, Justicar first. It sucked so hard tbh but i had it in my deck when i was climbing to rank 7. Now i'm using Flare, considering %90 of matches i play against are Secret Paladins (rly dafuq?) it's pretty useful so i suggest everyone that has same bad luck as me that card. Secret pala matches usually end up in 7 to 10 turns, they seem slightly better but i have around %50 win against them i think.
Also i noticed if game gets a bit longer and they put down that Dr. Boom i was getting rekt most of the time when i didn't have the burst. So i removed a Leper Gnome and put down a Big Game Hunter. Saved my ass few times, it's also good against molten dudes.
Trying Snake Trap instead of one Explosive Trap atm, when you play a Knife Juggler early game with one it can save its life and give you an edge. But a secret paladin made me regret that decision once so i may have to change back if i keep facing them all the time.
So in summary i'm using: -1 Leper Gnome, -1 Savannah, -1 Explosive Trap and +1 Big Game Hunter, +1 Snake Trap, +1 Flare.
Annnd wall of text crits you for 1.000.000.000.
Isn't it more midface-hunter than midrange? With the Leper Gnome and Explosive Trap it remembers me more of the Midface-variant. Otherwise i think it's a good deck and I didn't saw midface for a long time (before TgT), so it's good to be back. Especially since Midface is far less braindead than the pure Facehunter.
What about
-Quick Shot
+Sinalizator
???
- Houndemaster
+ flare gun
oooo my God, I do not know how this card breaks Mages and Paladins
and still serves as drawn cart
Replacement for Dr. 7 could ET work or Harrison
Totally ok with this coment, there is not posible way someone can climb so far with this deck, almost everything on meta have more board control than this deck. The sir mrgglton version is far better.
I fell from 5 to 7 with this so I totally agree. Possibly not good enough player to use this deck.
Makes me feel a bit better about myself but more power to a player who can make it work
Thanks m8, reached legend this morning, I climbed from rank 2 (1 star) to legend with your deck in less than 2 hours :)
like the deck and guide, the gameplay video though...
I have a question, could a Flare actually take a place in this deck? Current meta is pretty full of these annoying secret Pallys.
nice deck,gj
Some people like the stickyness of shredder just like haunted creeper, remeber it can give you millhouse wich is one if the best drops out of it, so it can have value, i personally think tomb spider has more flexibility and fit better in mid range but its a personal choice
I always have an excellent curve with this deck
Wouldn't this be more of a hybrid hunter not midrange?
