Keep a 2+ health one drop (Argent Squire works too), and if you're feeling lucky, hard mulligan for Zombie Chow or Dire Mole. If you have a good minion to play turn 1, mulligan the rest of your cards for 0 mana minions.

How to Play
  • Step 1: Fill board
  • Step 2: Go Face
  • Step 3: Profit

There is obviously a little bit more to it, like reacting to what Vaelastrasz plays, but those guidelines are pretty accurate. You fill the board, naturalizing and moonfiring to protect your board, and then you draw buffs and smash his face in.

Ideally, you want to keep your hand size at 4 cards or less to play around his copies of naturalize (and if you want to be extra safe you can stay at 2 or less to play around double naturalize, but that's excessive). However, that may not always be possible. 6 cards in hand is the absolute max. If you have more than that, you might burn a valuable buff and lose the game because of it.

Card Choices

Naturalize is in the deck to deal with Clockwork Giants mainly, but if you feel threatened by something, it's not a bad idea to naturalize it. Surprisingly often, using naturalize on imps from his Imp-losions is a good play because it helps with maintaining board control and mills some of his cards.

You may be wondering why there are so few cards above 1 mana. The reason is that you can't afford to have them. You need to be playing 4 cards a turn, so unless you have a way to play 4 cards a turn early on when you have a bunch of 2 cost cards in your hand, you don't play 2 drops.

Card Replacements

Most of the cards are replaceable; The main point of the deck is to just spam minions then buff them to kill Vaelastrasz. However, there are a few notable cards that I feel are worth mentioning as being irreplaceable, or needing specific replacements.

  • 0 mana cards are important, and should really only be replaced by other 0 mana cards, though in the case of target dummy the taunt is a relevant factor as well.
  • Mark of the Lotus and Power of the Wild are unfortunately not really replaceable. You can just run 1 of the 2, but Savage Roar isn't strong enough to win the game on its own, and having redundancy is always nice. With that said, you can make do with Blessing of the Ancients, just expect to be mildly disappointed.
Conclusion

That's about it! If you used the deck list or simply thought that it was cool, please leave a like so that other people may see the deck as well!
