This is the deck I used to defeat Heroic Giantfin. The strategy is flooding the board to deal with him doing the same.
Use your AoE spells to help clear out all of his murlocs and keep your board alive. This is key because you need sustained damage to his face to kill him before you get overwhelmed.
Use Quick Shot or Hungry Crab to pick off Murloc Warleaders and in some cases Murloc Tidecallers. Argent Horserider works best with Tidercallers though.
If this helps in your adventures, please leave a thumbs up. Good luck!
Edit : This deck is far from perfect, but will hopefully secure you the win after a few attempts. Thank you for all of the constructive comments, I'll keep the deck updated with your improvements.
After fiddling with the Warrior deck, this did it for me <3
All u need is: turn 1 Murloc Tidecaller and turn 2 Explosive Trap
- 2 x Hungry Crab (which I don't have) + 2 x Murloc Tidecaller
This is the best method.
First Try thanks!
Nice deck. 2nd try on heroic. Didn't even draw hungry crab either.
I played 2 webspinners instead of the hungry crab (please give me the hungry crab the one time I want it!!). While it didn't quite deliver a crab, I did get Dreadscale, which I played on turn 3. It lived through the entire game (thanks to a few bad trades from the AI after I couldn't completely clear with it), but it absolutely carried me to a win!
Something to consider if you actually own Dreadscale :D
Was extremely tempted to pass the turn, just for how satisfying that clear would be!
I was able to beat it by subbing out the Hungry Crab (which I don't have) for Bluegill Warriors, and 1 Powershot for an Explosive Shot, which actually won me the game by taking out a big health murloc.
Thanks for the deck. Got it on the first try with lucky Hungry Crab draw
This was his turn 1. Unleash was not enough to salvage this game.
Make sure you grab 2 murloc tidecallers for your deck, with the number of murlocs he puts out they become huge cards. I went with a mage deck full of spells, tidecallers, hungry crabs , Stack your deck with low costing minions so they can get played quickly. ?You want to be holding as few cards as possible so he doesn't gain any with his hero power. I steam roll him every game now.
If you decide to play mage, throw in an Antonidas for face damage, it was the only high cost minion I used.
Sorry, comments were referring to normal mode but I just tried heroic and beat him..barely ( I was down to 2 life for last half of game)
I managed to beat the boss with this deck. It's heavily reliant on well timed explosive traps and the boss not having resurrection / warleaders.
How on earth do you deal with the Warleaders? Especially the ones produced via the resurrection card effect. One Warleader hitting the board puts everything out of range of being killable by Explosive Trap and pretty much ruins any hope of bowling them over with Unleash the Hounds.
Passed Hereoic at first attempt, still done good trades with Unleash the Hounds and Glaveizooka to keep alive a boar. The rest, FACE!
hungry crabs are good your guide though is lacking
Would highly suggest replacing the Worgens with Hungry Crab since the only thing Giantfin plays is murlocs.
I just happen to have one Hungry Crab because I forgot to dust it!
