Hi everyone!
This is my second time posting a decklist on this website, basically I reach legend every season and usually with various decks. I felt like sharing this one to you guys since I had rarely had such a high winrate.
I started playing the deck at rank 5 and went to legend within 3/4 hours, my record is 21/2 (91,3% winrate) and the two games I lost were basically due to not drawing any active spell until turn 4, which means the deck is ridiculously good in my opinion. If you have a hard time winning with it just message and I'll reply to you asap :)
The idea is (obviously) to go for board control as much as possible. Strong early game such as Chow, minibot and Muster will ensure you the board. Your game plan is basically always the same : have the board and apply pressure while having great trades available. You will then have to adapt depending on the matchup since the deck can play pretty well both aggro and control but I found out you almost always wanted to be midrange-aggro.
If you want to have better long game plan, play Justicar trueheart for example...
December update :
I haven't had time to play this season yet, the only proof of winrate is an excel sheet that I manually update.
I am glad you guys are enjoying the deck, let me know if you feel it needs some updates for this season. We have already talked about replaceing Sylvanas by Trueheart justicar which I don't think is what you wanna be doing here.
The Curve is very sensitive, you can't add any extra 4 drop in my opinion.
Thanks man!
WHat do you mean by "card you should include"?
ROgue raptor feels pretty tough I agree, make him use fan of knives before you Muster and don't be afraid of killing a T2 egg since you're dead if he curves into T3 raptor
Like a list of cards that would be good against aggro and would be good in this deck? Like you listed jasticar for more control but what cards would you include in paly against aggro.
Also: New Stats from December 3rd
1. 4-1
Depends on the type of aggro deck, from my experience the deck wasn't very soft to aggro decks but I could see +1 owl and +1 argus
What can i replace for tirion and quarter master?
I am currently trying to cut one belcher and one sylvanas for one Justicar and one quarter, it's been working pretty well so I guess you can do that even though I wouldn't avise to replace Tirion at all
agreed, tirion is a staple in all midrange-control pally decks. if you enjoy playing paladin and play it regularly, i'd highly recommend you craft him asap. if you don't have quartermaster, i'd probably recommend adding in another 5 drop such as antique healbot or tuskar, but maybe someone else would disagree with me.
Thanks man :)
tirion replacable?
it is not :)
(but try out Ysera though)
Would justice work in place of sylvanas?
Against control deck I think Trueheart is fine. To aggro deck a Healbot is more practical.
I would personnaly go with Cairn or Piloted Shredder (board presence guys!)
I'm starting to notice that the recent midrange lists don't have antique healbot. is lay on hand enough?
since we don't run healbot we want to be more aggressive. From my experience the gain of life from lay on hands in IRRELEVANT, it's basically a draw 3 cards spell that comes to give you a second breath.
Remember you wanna be the one pressuring the opponent and not the contrary.
You are favored vs Hunter as your minions are so much better and resilient.
I run one of each in mine and still have a high win rate. It depends on what you run in your midrange deck and your play style.
How do you keep control of the board for face hunter yet play around knife, hounds?
I would like to know this too... a turn 5 juggler uth destroys me and I basically lose from there
You cannot replace Tirion, for sure.
Keeper would be hard to replace too, but I'd go with Defender of argus :)
Argus or murloc knight
1) Absolutely, except I don't keep Muster vs : Rogue, Druid and warrior
2) Aspirant on T1 is very hard to beat, I would be tempted to say Druid isn't a favored MU even though I have lost only once to it with the deck. There is no easy answer to this card in a paladin deck (except T1 chow into killing aspirant T3, and not letting them play anything apart from shade on T2)
3) Murloc knight is a good T6 play but bad on 4. Of course it has a target on its head and it's a MUST kill, but as I explained above you want board control, which shredder does better. Also Keeper of Uldaman is superior in my opinion : same body but able to buff a creature or shrink an Ysera or Malganis for example (!!!)
Justicar is a card I love in paladin but it goes for a longer and grindier game, this deck is aggro-midrange and wants to close games rather quickly by curving out with high impact cards every turn. :)
