Welcome to my Guide to Shaman for Beginners. We are going to talk through the Shaman Class, their Class specific cards and the Neutral Cards works well with shaman. This deck does not have a lot of Overload as the mana planning can be hard to control. Feel free to exchange some more Overload cards like Feral Spirit,Lightning Storm and Lava Burst into the deck when you feel you can control the mana. (This deck is capable to match against decks with legendary cards.)
Introduction
Greetings friends, I am Impede Wave aka ACE in game. This is my First guide to in the budget series, i have played Hearthstone casually for 2 months, I haven't played a lot but i learn a lot from watching streams and tournaments (FightNights, SeatStoryCup). I will show everyone I have enough knowledge to build Decks and write guides.
Other Low Budget deck from SoulBound Deck Building team
Priest : Blinding Light - Lux_EU
Druid : Wild Wrath - Lux_EU
Rouge: Cloak-and-Dagger - Lux_EU
Pros
- Shaman has one of the best board control with versatile cards to answer almost any threats.
- Hero Power give different Utilities - Taunt or Spell Power or Minion Healing
- Cheap spells, hard removals, great buffs, sometimes with drawbacks.
- Windfury combine with Rockbiter weapon gives unreal burst.
- Totems can be very annoying to play against.
- Strong match ups against most of the classes.
Cons
- Overload - Drawback from cheap spells, Borrow manas from next turn for flexible plays in sticky situations,
- Hero power is a RNG type ability, can be inconsistent,
- Hard to come back when board control is lost, no good basic/ common AoE spell.
- Managing mana and planning when to use overload can be hard.
- Can be Vulnerable to Super aggressive decks.
Shaman Cards
Possible shaman Combos
Dream Start for shaman - Turn 2 The Coin + Unbound Elemental Turn 3 Feral Spirit - Protect the Unbound Elemental and make it grow.
Totemic Might - can combine with Flametongue Totem or Mana Tide Totem to increase there effectiveness duration, as they are your opponent's primary target.
Ancestral Healing - combine with Chillwind Yeti, Injured Blademaster
Natural Cards that works well with Shaman
Possible Combos
Azure Drake + Wrath of Air Totem +2 Spell Damages into Lightning Bolt (Lightning Storm) / Lava Burst
(Any minions with Charge ) Reckless Rocketeer + Windfury + 1 or 2 x Rockbiter Weapon - Surprise damage
Suitable Card Substitutions
Charge minions like Argent Commander /Leeroy Jenkins. combine with Windfury + Rockbiter Weapon combo (+ Lava Burst for more damage.)
Lightning Storm - AoE Board clear
Feral Spirit - Replace Sen'jin Shieldmasta
Mana Tide Totem / Nat Pagle - Card Draws
Gadgetzan Auctioneer - with low mana spells this guy can draw you a lot of cards.
Azure Drake/ Bloodmage Thalnos - combine with spell power totem for a lot of extra damage, plus Bloodmage Thalnos draw a card, maintain your tempo.
Match Ups - Will add match up later.
vs hunter - beware the frog from hex is Beast type > Kill Command will do 5 damage.Argent Squire is a good minion to add into the deck against aggro, since most charger are 1 health.

This is an overall nice budget deck. The only big problem that i have with it is that i don't feel like it has any counter for aggro/rush decks. It seems very hard to win against a facehunter unless I have big luck with the card draws.
It's an okay Deck from what I've been tested, almost 2 wins from every 3 almost, i just miss few of the core cards that is suggested above and said to share these interesting changes with the community.
first of all, i decided to give up on the [card]Unbound Elemental[/card] since I'm messing 1x [card]Unbound Elemental[/card] and 1x [card]Stormforged Axe[/card] which some how weakening the the chances of getting the benefit of the Unbound Elemental ferocity. instead, i made some changes for higher chances on getting board control on early stage which the cards i own for the time being, 1x Argent Squire and 2x Totemic Might, of course i gave up on the [card]Unbound Elemental[/card] that I've got on my deck for an extra Totemic Might as you can see, early board control by strengthen the totems. as for the [card]Argent Squire[/card] i took the suggestion above about getting it if you want to handle early 1 health chargers like Bluegill Warrior or Wolfrider.
2) no damn Harvest Golem so far in my collection ! /sigh ... so, i decided to get use of the new Naxx cards, 2x Haunted Creeper is what i got in mind to replace such mechanism.
3) again ... no damn Dark Iron Dwarf in my collection ... so i was looking for replacing such Battlecry mechanism which some health or something similar at least, for this reason i decided to make a complex changes. first of all, i took away 1x Sen'jin Shieldmasta for 1x Defender of Argus, hitting 2 rocks with one, getting an extra taunt mob from the Battlecry and i get permanent +1/+1 twice as well. beside that, i added 1x Master Swordsmith and 1x Flesheating Ghoul to add some attack power per turn and per kill since totems can be damaged anytime.
4) lastly, this deck as mentioned by Impede_wave, it has an issue with controlling the board at long matches, so i decided as a self preference to change to mana curve with a slight change, i added 1x Acolyte of Pain to address some utility to this deck by enhancing it's card drawing chances, but that is not the main goal, it's a 3 crystal card that to soakup the damage at early stages, you can imagine this card while there is a healing totem up :)!
i hope this comment is useful for some of the new shaman players, got some other changes coming up, but for the time being, that's all i suggest since it's tested.

6uda
Your deck has been featured in the Shaman Information Hub under "Decklists". Congrats!
