INTRO
This is a Version of Secret Paladin that i used from rank 7 to legend this season with about a 75% winrate (36 w, 11 L), it relies on more of an aggro approach of the deck, with the high end being only 2 Mysterious Challenger. It relies on cards like Dragon Egg and Nerubian Egg combined with buffs to control the early game board state, ending the game with A Dr.6.
WHY I CHOSE THIS DECK OVER THE SAME-OLD SECRET PALADIN
Once LoE came out i was really exited for the card Keeper of Uldaman, i saw the synergy with Dragon Egg and Nerubian Egg immediately, i tried out the eggs in a more aggro paladin variant with no Mysterious Challenger and didn't have much success with it, so i decided to just throw in some Dr.6's and the secrets package to see how the deck would fare, and it worked much better than before, the secrets could give more proc's. for the egg's and increased the power level off the deck in General. I prefer this deck over the Normal Secret Pally, because it's more fun for me, the deck in general plays a lot like zoo; which is one of my favorite decks. Also i think it's kind of hilarious when you fill up you're board from a buffed Dragon Egg.
KEY CARDS THAT MAKE THIS DECK WORK
- Dragon Egg is very very key in this deck, it can single-handedly fill up the board when buffed
- Mysterious Challenger makes all of the relatively weak secrets work amazingly in this deck, not much else to say about this card.
- Keeper of Uldaman one of the most flexible cards in the game, mostly used in this deck to buff your eggs and small tokens to take over the board, but can also be used as a removal against threats like a taunted Molten Giant.
Will finish guide tomorrow, with the match-ups mulligans and tech card section.
That sounds more like an average climb than a "big loose sterak" to me.
Pretty cool. Just tested on rank 1700 legend vs midrange druid and feels great to crush dr boom with 2 dudes + muster's hammer.
Uldaman makes also for a great tool to survive blizzard/holy nova/swipe.
"This is a Version of Secret Paladin that i piloted from rank 7 to legend"
Correct me if I am wrong... but... the word piloted is used when you play a deck that is not your own creation. Hence, you did not build the deck, but "piloted" someone else's. So, if this is your original deck, you did not "pilot" it. Just saying.
Cool deck tho. I might try it, eggs are fun!
lol, my bad will fix; didn't realize. And yeah, eggs are pretty fun
You're a shitty English teacher then. "Piloted" just means "controlled" or "navigated" so he "navigated" the deck that he built, there's nothing semantically wrong with that statement. Saying you "piloted" a deck does inherently indicate that it's not your own creation; you can pilot a deck you yourself designed.
MortoxNA, you are absolutely correct. To say that the word piloted only refers to the controlling of something not created by yourself is ridiculous. So if i build a plane I can't pilot it? Kids these days... I mean english teachers.
HS(CCGs?) lingo, not literal meaning. Duh.
you could try a more midrange approach to this deck, and i would cut a Divine Favor, although i would cut a Blessing Of Might rather than an Abusive Sergeant. I found that in all of my games that Haunted Creeper was doing way more work than Nerubian Egg, egg is still a good card, but i found that creeper just does so much better against classes like hunter warlock and paladin.
This deck is VERY strong! My favorite is when my opponent just ignores the eggs...they have no idea what they are in for.
I do have a question. My instincts have been to fight for board control, keep a clear board, and then go face. Is that how you play the deck, or do you take on a more SMORC approach, or is it situational?
Thanks again!
I would imagine you go more for the face with this deck.
What would you take out for a Consecration?
You do realize that there is currently no copy of Consecration in this deck and i was asking what card I could take out to include one copy Consecration ?
ok this deck is a well oiled machine but i took 2 losses to ice block. and my only other loss i woudl have been able to steal a explosive trap, so i wish i could fit kezan in some how, but im too afraid to take anything out. any suggestions?
as it is im on track to advance to rank 4 for the first time so i dont want to fuck with it too much obviously
i decided to -1 noble sacrifice because it doesnt synergize with my eggs. I took another loss to a secret class (paladin this time) and was top decking secrets
sorry about shitty draws and stuff, i am going to make a guide soon, which will cover matchups and possible tech cards.
bleh im a bit over 50% but im struggling here. i could really use a guide.
that's awesome! i just dropped to 50% and i would blame my kezan swap, but it barely factored into any of the matches and i lost to far more secret classes than non secret
I'd be interested to see a guide. I'd like to try out Secret Paladin, but I'm a little unsure on the strategy. Sure, you put in Mysterious Challenger and a bunch of secrets, but what about the rest of teh deck? I'd have to craft the MC's, so I want to make sure I know how to play the deck before I spend the dust. Is it hard to play?
