This is my first somewhat refined rendition of a summoning stone deck. It is freeze mage, essentially. The general idea is to stall the game until you can combo a freeze spell with summoning stone.
Or, it's also completely feasible to drop doomsayer, clear the board and then drop summoning stone onto an empty board. This strategy is usually only good against aggro because control will have removal. And, this deck depends on out-valuing control decks.
Echo of Medivh summons a minion before the effect takes place - so you get a copy of it in your hand along with the summoning stone and whatever else you have on the board. It also gives you another summoning stone if it happens to get silenced.
Cone of Cold is in this deck to be an additional combo with summoning stone, on top of frost nova.
Overall, this is some of the most fun I've ever had playing Hearthstone. The snowball effect is ridiculous and immediate. It becomes one-sided very quickly when they can't deal with summoning stone.
The insane amount of healing and AoE in this deck makes it strong vs. any aggro archetype.
Control warrior is the hardest matchup because they have so much removal, so it can be hard to set up a snowball effect. And, when you do, they have brawl, so you have to echo carefully.
Holy shit. This is probably one of the most interesting and fun decks I've played in a while. Beating a mill rogue even after burning cards like thaurissan feels good. Disgusting value if stone lives.
Summoning Stone goes off the casting cost of the spell, not the original cost, so wouldn't the emperor have a negative effect in this deck?
Not really.
Emperor allows you to make a tempo swing that more than accounts for the reduced cost of the cards you summon.
Out of 6 games 2 were absolutely ruined by a doomsayer from a 2-mana spell, against an empty board.
Funny, but not good enough as only win condition. And you don't have any other.
I actually try to avoid playing 2 mana spells with it when I can. And, when I usually do is when I play a discounted frost nova to combo with echo of medivh on the same turn. So my echo would give me summoning stone, doomsayer and a three mana minion in the unfortunate scenario (though you still get to wipe their board and set the tempo).
I haven't had doomsayer yet, however.
Just won another incredible game.
This time I was at 8 Health with 7 decay coming the next turn. I use a 6 mana flamestrike on an empty board and get a Bolf Ramshield to literally save the day by eating a 1 damage fireblast and 7 damage decay to the face.
I've been using the freeze/echo summoning stone concept, but for a fatigue deck. Gotta say...it works unbelievably well.
0-4 shitty deck in practice never works out
I'm guessing there are no suitable replacements for the Echos? I don't have a single copy but crafting two epics that are only used in joke decks doesn't seem worth it.
Yeah, I'd say not really. They're value multipliers, however, so you could throw in antonidas to compensate for at least one of them and still have some fun, and perhaps still be similarly competitive.
Nonetheless, I'm thinking about how I crafted Echo a while back and how it's been one of my favorite cards to play around with. You can play several competitive decks with echo, namely giants, so it's not like it's some gimmick card. It will actually open up new playstyles for you.
Hey Alkan. The main reason I'm reluctant about crafting two echos is because I'm lacking other epic pairs that see much more competitive play, cabal shadowpriests and mysterious challengers among others. I'm also still lacking a few must-have legendaries, such as Tirion and Mal'Ganis.
Still, echo giants mage is a deck I've always wanted to try out, and I'd really like to try out your summoning stone deck. Decisions, decisions... I guess I'll wait until all the wings of the new adventure are released so that I can see which epics are meta, and which are not.
Cabal is quite necessary to play priest. So, those do take precedence.
I can't tell you how fun this deck is. I've been laughing my ass off every game.
Best one so far was a Baron Rivendare into double Voltron :D:D:D
Holy shit. Screenshot that stuff! lol
Haha, I was laughing so much, the guy conceded before I could snap a pic.
I find it hardest w mages, druids, and palys. everyone else im crushing
I did manage to play an aggro druid who I beat with this current build.
It's always some combination of luck and know-how with the style of deck play and your opponent's deck. Belchers, explosive sheep and a couple other things could be subbed in for one or two acolytes and a blizzard.
great deck. 5-0 to start w 4 concedes and 2 threatens. haha... Ive been playing Summoning Stone Rogue and this trumps that! I took out one Echo of Medivh and Blizzard and added Rhonin and Archmage Antonidas works great for late game if it gets that far! thx!
