This is the current, updated list that I've been test running. Jeweled Scarab is a card I've been really happy with - it gives you a lot of flexibility depending on the match up.
As more cards are released, I think there will be plenty of room to tinker with the deck. This is an updated list from the original one I posted. You can check previous versions to see what was changed.
Appreciate the constructive feedback! Many of the cards were changed based off suggestions from the comments.
any replacements for Cairne Bloodhoof?
Pretty interesting deck, but i don't like Rumbling Elemental, i think he is too slow and random :-/
So i'm playing a battlecy deck without him, http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/313164-mistcaller-brann-battlecry-shaman ,
And with Sir Finley Mrrgglton & The Mistcaller. This one give small minions some utility later.
Could i replace Neptulon with Al'Akir??
Neptulon and Al'Akir don't have the same purpose. Neptulon is really great for providing you extra cards to grind your opponent out with, and Al'Akir is more of a burst finisher that you can combo with Rockbiter.
I think you could substitute him, just keep in mind they do different things, and you'll need to modify your strategy possibly a bit (also Al'Akir is not a battlecry, so he won't have any synergy with the Rumbling Elementals or Brann Bronzebeard when he launches).
Anything you would recommend as a replacement?
Could i repalce Neptulon with Al'Akir??
Suggestion. Youthful Brewmaster to abuse/ reuse battlecries.
I have been experimenting with some sort of battlecry deck with Rumbling Elemental and Crowd Favorite with the cards that we have as of now (1st wing). Let me tell you already that Crowd Favorite sucks, since it does not do anything on curve, and that Rumbling Elemental is pretty solid. Not at the level of Piloted Shredder, but good enough. But again, it's the inconsistency of getting Rumbling Elemental on curve that makes me kinda sad, so maybe once Tunnel Trogg is out, we can test some more, if it actually replaces the chow.
Completely agree - from what I've been experimenting with, unless you are able to contest the early board state it's very difficult for it to have a meaningful impact. On the times that you are able to, it works out very well.
Crowd Favorite really seems to only work if you can immediately play Defender of Argus with him on the same turn, of if you're lucky and he sticks, on the next. I've been cutting him out of the deck. The Mistcaller, as others have mentioned, seems too slow to play with as well.
I'll update the list once Tunnel Trogg goes live and I can play around with those cards.
With all the new solid 4 mana minions that shamans have, I really wish Piloted Shredder does not exist in the game. Fireguard Destroyer and Rumbling Elemental should be powerhouses now, maybe even making Shamans the king of 4 mana minions, which I think is pretty nice, since that also means we are pretty good at midrange decks. Please Blizzard, for the love of the elements, nerf Piloted Shredder! It limits both your design space for future 4 drops as well as our deck building options for the 4 mana slot.
wut
As many have said, there's a lot here that feels a little too optimistic like the Crowd Favorite, Draenei Totemcarver, Mistcaller, Rumbling Elemental. I think some more bread-and-butter cards (Hex, Crackle, Fireguard Destroyer, Doomhammer) are essential, and then I'd add more cards to help carry to the lategame (Antique Healbot, Earthen Ring Farseer, Bomb Lobber) and a few more exciting lategame threats like Nefarian, Neptulon, and Ysera.
Ysera?
Rafaam and Brann
Rest in pieces
- 2 [card]Draenei Totemcarver[/card]
- 1 The Mistcaller
- 1 [card]Defender of Argus[/card]
- 2 [card]Stormforged Axe[/card]
- 1 [card]Al'Akir the Windlord[/card]
+ 1 Antique Healbot
+ 1 Sir Finley Mrrgglton
+ 2 Fireguard Destroyer
+ 2 Crackle
+ 1 Hex
Don't think this deck will work att all. Too much "hoping for awesome synergy". It gets very situational and weak when you try to combine the battlecry, overload AND totem synergy.
Also; with the double axe it would be sweet with some lifegain. Try cutting the Dranei along with the trogg and axe. Implemend some solid-on-it's-own cards like Chow, Juggler and Piloted. Remember that you only only have one Brann and that the dream won't come true very often BibleThump
This Deck, along with Rumbling Elemental, won't work, as much as I hate to say it. Rumbling Ele is simply too weak, and too slow, No where near worth building a deck around. Even if it was a 3/6, you have to be able to spam its ability (like mage can do with FlameWaker) to get any substantial power out of it, but there aren't even that many cheap battlecries, let alone good ones. Rumbling Elemental just isn't overwhelming, which is exactly what you need in a card worth building around.
The deck isn't solely built around flamewaker the way tempo mage is. The goal is just to get synergy out of the battlecry minions that you typically run in midrange shaman builds.
Like I said, the list isn't final and the cards can't be tested yet. But I think it's an idea worth exploring.
- Tunnel Trogg
- Stormforged Axe
- Draenei Totemcarver
+ 1 Bomb Lobber
+ 2 Fireguard Destroyer
+ 1 Flametongue Totem
+ 1 Big Game Hunter
+ 1 Hex
Personally don't love Crowd Favorite or Abusive Sergeant either, I think this deck could do with some Flame Jugglers or Zombie Chows and at least 1 Earth Shock.
Screw it made my own
I don´t think you can play a midrange shaman without hex
