Hello everyone, thanks again for all the support and view on this deck! I recently started a youtube channel where I primarily make Hearthstone videos and would really appreciate it if you could check it out (if this post does still get any attention). There is even a video on this very deck being uploaded right now. Even though we are nearing the end of season 22 THE DECK STILL WORKS. I would appreciate it greatly if anyone reading this could please check out my channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxAlIBg-ChHnswZAsYoQUGw the mech mage video will be up shortly. Thanks again and I hope you guys enjoy :) The link to the actual mech mage video is : https://youtu.be/mI72hJB1qYw
Hi guys, this is a mech mage deck I have used to reach rank 3, 2 seasons in a row. Unfortunately from 3 I have found it very difficult to progress. If this deck gets any attention, I will post a guide on how to play it and give a mulligan guide etc. Also feel free to post comments on any improvements you may have for the deck. I'm always eager to try new things ;)
Thanks for all the support guys, as promised here is a mulligan guide and some tips for the deck.
Mulligan generally won't change depending which class you're playing against. Always try find 2 and 1 drops, but don't keep unstable portal unless you have a mana wyrm in your starting hand. Against paladin, priest and druid try get a frostbolt in your starting hand. It helps for early removal against secret keeper, twighlight welp and darnassus aspirant (respectively).
Try get synergy with the mechwarper, and mana wyrm early game with combos such as:
(with coin) Turn 1: coin mech warper, turn 2 spider tank, turn 3 shredder
Turn 1: mana wyrm coin cogmaster
Playing a piloted shredder on turn 3 puts HUGE pressure on the board, combo that with an annoyotron and allow it to dish out the damage.
Face is not always the place but often is. Don't be afraid to use firballs to clear big tauntes (such as belcher) in order to keep you minions alive for further turns. Try always have at least 1 spare part in hand, even if it's just to give you that one fireball required to get lethal.
Another trick that has saved me countless times against control warrior is over extending on turn 4, then playing loatheb on turn 5 (to prevent brawl) and on turn 6 time rewind loatheb and re play him. Also watch out for finicky cloackfield on antionidas to gaurentee at least 3 fireballs. Try always play antionidas on turn 8 rather than 7, making sure to combo him with at least one spare part.

Great deck. I did -1 Loatheb, -1 Dr. Boom for +2 Mechanical Yeti as I don't have either. Seems to work fine. I went from Rank 11 to 6 (win rate at 79% according to deck tracker)
Thanks a million for posting this list, went from rank 15 to 10 (thus far).
The one replacement I made was swapping the Piloted Sky Golem with a Coldarra Drake (had the Drake aswell as having neither the Golem nor the dust to craft it).
The Drake has performed well for me and I hope some other MageMechTechies will give it a try and have similar results!
Thanks again for your refreshing take on magical mechanicals
I'm at rank 16-14 having trouble
Dont have the Antonidas and Loatheb & skygolem
Any replacements ..??
and why there is no Flamestrike. ??
Just crafted Boom so any suggestion what to craft next
Next time craft Antonidas of course^^
Put in a Flamestrike if you need but basically you try to flood the board and get control. Just watch some videos bruh.
What about card draw..???
some i dont have any card left in my Hand
Hi im not so good at this game but i maneged to get to rank 11 with mid/face hunter, but that got kinda boring so im began to play this deck, problem is i dont know when to trade or to face, ive played 3 games with the deck and the first match i got perfect mulligan but i went out of cards SO fast and traded to much i think. So pls tips/links to help me play.
And ye im missing some cards to.. best replacements for [card]Piloted Sky Golem[/card] and [card]Archmage Antonidas [/card] ?
You usually trade when you're falling behind. Normally trade only in the beginning to gain some board control. But if you can get synergy right away like turn 1 cogmaster, turn 2 mech warper, clockwork gnome, turn 3 tinkertown technician or piloted shredder etc. then you usually go face and try to trade with your smaller minions clockwork gnome while putting out damage to their face with the larger minions. Try to play around removals like turn 5 knife juggler + Unleash the hounds, lightning storm, consecration, etc. It's dependent on your match up. Hope this helps!
I replaced piloted sky golem with grand crusader is that fine?

Antonidas is really just to finish your opponent off in the late game so it's not completely crucial. unstable portal can be easily crafted though.
change antonidas for something that works for the meta like kezan mystic
Hmmmm~
I've tried replacing some cards;
- Mana Wyrm x2
- Unstable Portal x2
With
+ Mad Scientist x2
+ Mirror Entity x1
+ Counterspell x1
And it's working pretty good (IN MY FLAVOUR OF GAMEPLAY) :D
So no card draw is fine?
It's not and this isn't even a good mech mage deck.
Piloted Sky Golem is considered to be one of the late game threats, taking it out removes a part of the synergy and replacing it with sylvanas isn't really very optimal as this is an aggro deck.
Sure. Sky Golem, I assume, is only in here as a later game card to keep board presence and hopefully keep tempo in your favor if there is a board clear. I'd assume Syllvanas is fine as a replacement. Though, you do lose the Mech-typing value.

Sooo i replaced 2 mana vrym for 2 arcane intellect and leotheb for pyroblast. Is that good ?
Pyroblast has very little place in an aggro deck. You're not really understanding the entire premise of the deck if you're getting rid of your 1 drops and Loatheb for draw cards and a 10-mana finisher.
I have no leotheb lol and i replaced 1 mana worm with arcane intellect. Is there any better replacements for leotheb
