With Charge changed from 3 mana to 1 mana, the original deck becomes completely unplayable. I figured out another way to play patron warrior in a mixture style.
Basically two winning conditions: Grim Patron and Golden Monkey; first one against aggro mainly, second one against control.
Against aggro:
Manage to survive until you create at least 4 Grim Patrons on board. That's enough to win.
Against midrange (especially Shaman):
Shaman has plenty of ways to deal with your Grim Patrons (Spell damage into Lightning Storm, Spirit Claws, Lightning Bolt, Hex). Don't play the patrons unless you can play Battle Rage to reload your hand in the same turn. You'll need Golden Monkey to win the match.
Against control:
You have more card draws than usual control decks so that in most cases you draw Golden Monkey earlier than your opponent in warrior mirror match. Your opponent may have used their Brawl to deal with your Grim Patrons already. Take advantage of this and try to make them run out of stream.
It needs Emperor Thaurissan to play Raging Worgen + Charge + Enrage + Faceless Manipulator. But you can give it a try.
Would Grommash be helpful? It doesn't look like the deck has enough damage to finish yet.
Thanks for the advice. It does work.
I just don't see the point in playing just a significantly worse version of Patron.
Because there's a nerf coming to warsong next week I think, killing the old deck.
This is a good deck. Never played old Patron Warrior, but having a lot of fun (in casual for now).
I swapped out 1 Cruel Taskmaster for 1 Dread Corsair, 1 Loot Horder for 1 Grommash Hellscream, Bouncing Blades for Revenge, and Commanding Shout for another Charge. Just destroyed with it. Not bad, as long as you get things that draw cards in your starting hand. Also, Grommash saves the day quite often.
Got really excited to play this deck but got crushed by control decks, big taunts (3-4+), mullingan, worst draws possible and not many cards in the deck could've won those games anyway :/
It's a fun to play deck but IMO not nearly as competitive as the good Ol' warsong patron :c
I'm totally trying this once Patron is nerfed; no one will expect it. I see a few cards that could probably be changed, but it looks fun!
Edit: This deck is generally worse than current Patron Warrior without the charging Patrons, right? I guess the question will be if it's good enough to still play.
This looks like a reasonable deck, and actually playable at high levels. I don't see this tier 1 while Paladin is still dominant (now even more) in the meta. If the Paladin problem would be solved, this archetype would survive at a reasonable level.
Just won against an Echo Giants mage! :'D Thank you!
