After a year of playing this game off-and-on, I finally managed Legend rank with surprising ease. Having only reached rank 3 as my highest once before, and rank 5 a few times, getting legend was a big surprise. I also won my last 5 games in a row to get there, so it was a fast process.
From rank 5 to legend, this deck had a win rate of 66%. At about rank 3 I included a blood knight and 2 harvest golems (instead of 2 spider tanks) to create this exact version you see here. From rank 3 to legend this exact build probably had between a 75 and 80% win rate, seeing as how rank 1 was 5 consecutive wins in a row.
If enough people see this I will go into card choices and match-ups. In the current meta, I had much success with this deck :)
Why bloodknight? I just don't get it, wouldn't a Faceless Manipulator or a Fel Reaver (even if you hate them) or BGH be better?
Like I said earlier, it is up to the player to tech this deck to the meta. When I was playing this, there were very many paladins, so blood knight was the perfect choice. If you are facing more control now, sure try a fel reaver or bgh. They might work
What about card draw? How you handle with it?
just make sure you have a good curve. make sure you have a 3 mana minion on turn 3, 4 mana on turn 4 and youre set. A harvest golem turn 3 into a blastmage on turn 4 often seals the deal against many decks
I think take out a Harvest Golem and put in Archmage Antonidas
You won't be missing that 3 drop usually, but you'll surely be missing the Archmage when you could have had lethal with a bunch of spare parts in hand.
Honestly I think archmage is too slow. You will only get value from him on turn 9 or later and by then the game is either won or lost. You have either bursted them down and killed them, or you are card starved and they will be winning the game soon after. The mana and time it takes to use archmage and then the fireballs after is too slow. IMO. Also, you are not getting that many spare parts per game
UPDATE: Guys, this deck was used to help me get legend between September 1st and 15th and was great for THAT meta. If it is not working as well now it may be because the meta has changed (I'm not sure if it has cause I have not played much the second half of the month). It is your job as a player to make the necessary tech changes to adapt to the current meta
Just asking why no fel reaver?
I have never liked fel reaver. Sacrificing +2/+2 in stats is worth not having the downside of fel reaver. Reaver is bgh-able and really bad if a taunt is put down, as they can mill your deck. Also, I like the surprise buff from clockwork knight that allows you to trade up
Any tips on how to play this deck ? Should I always try to maintain board control or should I just go for the face almost all the time ?
Always maintain a board. If you can trade and play a minion, or trade and still have a board, then trading is the play. If you have to trade 3 minions into 1, go face.you must also watch your hand size. If you start to run dry on cards, start bursting him down, cause there is no draw in this deck and no comeback mechanic!!
Great deck man really like it :D
What would you replace Blood Knight with?
Certain players can't play certain decks. I myself have ALWAYS struggled with Handlock at high ranks. Don't think I've had over a 40% win rate with it after rank 5.
Also, you probably went on tilt after a few losses.
I just cant use the Blood Knight...it doesn't work for m what should i put in instead?
Edit:How about Big Game Hunter?
I would say that this deck aims to get your opponent in killing range before they drop a huge minion and once they do, you just ignore it. I think BGH is far to reactive of a card that can only be used in certain situations. With all the aggro and druids around, I barely even see any 7 attack minions being played. That being said, if you are facing heavy aggro I would replace with an arcane missles or MAYBE flamecannon. If you a facing lots of druids and warriors I would say another tinkertown tech or spidertank are great choices.
Thx for posting this deck its really helped me climb the lader
No problem man, glad I could help!!
When the facehunter get faced :SMOrc:
Its so satisfying when you hit a face hunter in the face
