LEGEND PROOF:
UPDATE : Legend 190 now BOYS! The climb is real!
EDIT: Legend 110 now
HELLO GUYS! It's me again, Zenon. Previously I hit legend last season and this season I've hit legend again, with my very own Control Warrior deck. From the start I've always thought of Deathwing as an awesome card and in the end, Deathwing has proved himself by carrying me to legend. :D I've had good win rates against all the decks that supposedly "counter" Control Warrior like Secret Pally and Combo Druid. Also, popular decks like Dragon Priest.
How to use Deathwing:
Against Secret Paladin : When you have Deathwing in your hand, use up all your removals freely (shield slam execute etc.) and drop all your important legendaries first like Ysera and Grommash. If he manages to clear your legendaries and he can still flood the board, like the enemy secret paladin drops a Muster for Battle and empties his entire hand onto the board, drop Deathwing, clear his entire board and go face. You will probably finish him in 2 turns as he's taking a MASSIVE 12 damage per hit. Make sure you have a weapon equipped in case he uses Noble Sacrifice.
Against Combo Druid:
Try to bait their removals and bgh with you other legendaries first. Normally there will come a time where the druid will get desperate and innervate + drop all his minions onto the board, hoping that you can't clear their board and they can combo you to death the next turn. THAT is when you drop Deathwing and win the game, destroying their entire board and preventing them from combo-ing you to death.
Against other controllish decks e.g Control Warrior, Handlock, Dragon Priest with lightbomb
Save deathwing as last card in fatigue matches, try to play your threats wisely and clear their stuff efficiently. Normally you'll win as this deck has much more threats than other control decks.
Mulligans
Against Warriors: Throw away every card in your hand and search for brawl. If you have brawl keep it. This is so that we do not lose to Grim Patron turn 6 inner rage + whirlwind combo or turn 5 inner rage + death's bite combo as Warriors do not have efficient ways of removing a Grim Patron board except Brawl.
Against Priest: Mulligan aggressively for executes in case the priest does an early Velen's Chosen and you can't kill the minion with weapons. If you weapons in your hand, keep them. If you have both Shield Slam and Shield Block together in your hand, keep them too. Keep Brawl if you have coin.
Against Druid: Keep Brawl in your hand if you have coin. Keep Fiery War Axe for Darnassus Aspirant and Death's bite if you have them. Turn 5 brawl if they drop shades and stuff.
Against Mage: Keep Fiery War Axe, Death's Bite, Brawl
Against Paladin: Brawl, fiery war axe, armorsmith, acolyte of pain.
Against Hunter: Keep taskmaster, armorsmith, fiery war axe, death's bite.
Controversial card choices:
Removing Alexstrasza :
I removed Alexstrasza as there are very little Face Hunters near legend rank and most "aggressive" type of decks involve building a super strong board that you can't remove and then killing you with 20+ damage in one go. For example, Secret Paladin, Combo Druid, Midrange Hunter. In those cases, using Alexstrasza on yourself when you are low won't matter at all as they still have a large board and 20+ damage waiting for you next turn.
Additionally, i found that sometimes I couldn't even use Alexstrasza as my enemies were below 15 hp and I didn't want to heal them and neither did I want to damage myself by bringing myself down to 15 hp. Therefore, she ended up as a dead card in my hand. Besides that, her stats are horrible for 9 mana and she often gets removed too efficiently, causing you to waste your entire turn for nothing.
Will write more soon
hey man awesome deck, Deathwing has won me many games, I love waiting for my opponent to go all in after seeing two brawls and being in fatigue, then all of the sudden DEATHWING kills everything and GG, one question though, sometimes I lose against very aggressive decks, I am thinking about switching one taskmaster for a revenge so I can clear the early 1-1 or 2-1 minions other than that I really enjoy this deck, also because I rather play long controlled games than going face and either win fast or running out of steam and lose, as you can see with face hunters or aggro paladins.
Is there a replacement for Baron Geddon or is it unreplacable?

Replacement for Deathwing...jk xD
This is the version i created, what do you think of it?

It's possible too if you see very little Grim Patrons in the ladder.

No tgt cards, wow. That expansion was so bad, I wont preorder anything in this game again.
Wow, I have to say this is the first deck that has really worked extremely well for me. Why no Varian though?
i guess varian + deathwing is too heavy
Because Varian is prone to pretty much any good board clear.
"oh you varian'd sylvanas, ragnaros, dr.boom? Say hello to lightbomb."

I freaking disenchanted my 2nd brawl a year ago. whats the replacement :)
Hi, this deck really seems strong. Have you considered playing one Bash in stead of Shield Block and also Justicar Trueheart in stead of one Shieldmaiden ?
Bash is too slow, too expensive mana-wise and results in tempo loss + loss of card advantage. Shield Block on the other hand, is good for combo with shield slam and good for cycling the deck to get removals that you need quickly.
Justicar is too slow, body is too weak and the extra armor doesn't matter if you lose control of the board(you get hit in the face for 15+ damage every turn). Likewise, against other control decks extra armor doesn't matter if you use up all your threats while your opponent still has threats to play. You will still lose in fatigue wars because of that.
Hi, thank you for this.
I've been running both of them and maybe this is the reason why I am loosing a lot of games because of bash and and Justicar. Will give your deck a chance later on today and I really hope I can make it to legend again :D
Good luck! You can do it! Just don't give up!
Any suggestions on what to run instead of Baron Geddon? I just can't justify crafting him yet.
In the current meta Alex isn't very useful because if you're getting really low on health, chances are the enemy has a strong board and healing yourself back up won't save you from death. 8/8 stats for 9 is pretty bad too and sometimes you can't even use because your enemy has less than 15 hp and you don't want to heal your enemy back up or damage yourself. In control matchups alex doesn't matter because you win by having more threats in the end, not by having more health.
