Featured as Tier 4 in Meta Snapshot #30
EDIT: After so many comments I will update here with some explanation of what I think, because Kolento has yet to play this deck again before I make a analysis.
From what I saw, if you miss some card from this list, or don't feel confortable with something put a Charged Hammer is the best thing. People comment that it can fit the spot of Feral Spirit.
Some people don't like two Earth Elemental, but in this deck you need to draw it to secure a win most of the time. Earth Elemental + Ancestral Spirit is a excellent combo that only is bad versus Silence, not so common in this meta.
Neptulon is there because you need the card advantage against other control decks. Think of it like the Varian Wrynn for Shaman. It is pretty hard to substitute it, but people are trying with [card]Sylvanas Windrunner[/card] and Ysera. Give it a try and post your thoughts! :)

Hi all, actually i'm running a different version that work pretty well (i don't own a 2nd earth elemental, and neptulon)
-1 feral spirit + 1 charged hammer
-1 Earth elemental +1 azure drake
-1 ancestral spirit, +1 thalnos bloodmage
-1 neptulon +1 chromaggus (i switch with ragnaros or kel'thuzad sometimes)
I tried another one with faceless manipulator, reincarnation and sylvanas, it's really fun but less efficient :P
You need it because of the need for board clears in current meta. Not playing minions in the first turns can be devastating. To win the game, massive board clears are essential for tempo swings in early, mid game.
Besides that, it is a powerful tool in late game that can make you outvalue your opponent with efficient trades.
Two of them can almost guarantee that you draws it at the best times.
Elemental Destruction is a powerful tool like you said, MarcOlle! It's a great card, and yeah having two is so important!
This deck is a lot of fun to play, and I hope it will be updated as the seasons go by. This has nothing to do with ED, but I want to add the Charged Hammer to the deck for testing. You said drop a Feral Spirit right? The Charged Hammer is a great addition to a control Shaman deck.
The new hero power makes a difference during the games :)
I swapped out thaurisan and alex for sylvanas and piloted sky golem.they fit the theme better and alot of times i couldnt play alex
I agree with SkiTrott. One Elemental Destruction is enough for me.
Really enjoying this deck in the current meta. I only have one Elemental Destruction so I put a Loatheb instead. Works pretty well!
I'll have to give this a try myself but no al'akir/rockbitter seems a little strange. Any reason they aren't included?
Your win condition is not burst damage with Al'Akir the Windlord or Doomhammer.
You win with big threats and eliminating all win conditions of your opponnent.
Try mulligan for removal, not minions, your early plays usually are to deal with the enemy minions, you put your taunt wall and gain with value and giant threats
In my case with one charged hammer! its great rank 8 right now! =D
I haven't played it too much, but so far I really like this deck and it fits my play style perfectly. I'm currently missing 1 Earth Elemental and Neptulon from the list above. How important does Neptulon seem to people in this particular deck? Charged Hammer is great, and I do like keeping 1 copy of Feral Spirit just because it dodges the joust mechanic while still giving you taunt defense, what could be more perfect right? I'm currently filling Neptulon's slot with Sylvanas, but open to trying other folks suggestions. Great stuff, I love this deck.
Control decks are always about having some threat left when your opponent doesn't. Neptulon is good for that, providing both a threat and some immediate card advantage. If you don't have him, Ysera would be a decent replacement, just slower, and is distinctly worse if silenced or removed quickly.
Neptulon is a great card, but like Silverbeau said...Ysera is a decent replacement. What rank are you playing the deck at btw? I hope you are having good results!
Thinking about perhaps trying to fit in sylvanas since she does work well with ancestral spirit.Has anyone put hjer in and what did you guys take out?
Yea, that's partly why I was going Sylvanas instead of Ysera in place of the missing Neptulon. I'm playing at ranks 7 and 8 currently.
- alex, 1x senjin
+ 1x ancestral knowledge, chromaggus
chromaggus + AK = 4 cards
This just does not work for me sorry the only thing it works agaisnt is agrro
Interesting because when I have faced control decks, I have had good success against control decks. I did lose to a mech mage because of no removal tools or heals in my opening hand (not control but aggro can kill ya fast). Btw, most of the control vs. control games are VERY long, and you will go into the fatigue game haha.
Lol yea control games can take forever but because of healing waves and alex i never lose if it goes to fatigue.Just really enjoying this deck and i find that this deck catches ALOT of people by surprise.Healing wave is an AMAZING card in the correct deck and great card regardless.
